I have followed and read each of these books as they have released, and was excited to receive this arc. So I was really surprised when the book paced so slowly and read so jilted. The characters had lost all passion, it felt very forced.

I love this series so so much.
I will literally read anything by Scarlett St. Clair, she has forever made me fall in love with her version of Hades that no others will do.

My only problem with this book is that because I read the Arc I now have to wait even long before the next book. *insert sobbing here*

3 ⭐ This felt like a reread, and not the good kind.

I love Scarlett St. Clair's take on Hades x Persephone. I have for years now. But the whole point of the Hades Saga was supposed to be about uncovering secrets, hearing and knowing what can only be learned from Hades' perspective on a story we already know. This book, though, told the same story with some sprinkling of other details, and since A Touch of Malice was my least favourite book on the H&P series, I guess it's only fitting that this would be my least favourite in Hades Saga.

The most interesting parts of this book were Dionysus' chapters, without a doubt. His and Ariadne's adventures, their ups and downs, truly carried this book through. Theseus' chapters were exactly what I know they were supposed to be, but they were still hard to read. I think having the villain's POV in a book can be eye opening, but in this case it was just kind of gross, tbh. He is a foul person and being inside his narrative felt repulsive, which I guess means it was perfect? Idk.

I was equally as frustrated with Hades in this book as I was with his character during most of A Touch of Malice. Every single problem that felt like a miscommunication issue is proven to be just that. It's always Hades hiding vital information and being a controlling, disrespectful as* to his fiancee. Also, this is very much a 'sex fixes everything' kind of story, so reader discretion is advised. I generally don't have a problem with it, but even I felt like it was too much here. The smut is not great, and I don't think the MCs held a single conversation with one another. In the entire book. Again, one of my issues with ATOM.

I don't think there is a chance to spoil anything about this book, since it's literally just a retelling of a different book in the other MCs POV, but I will refrain from talking about important plot-lines or moments. Just know that the cliffhanger is equally as underwhelming and frustrating as it was in ATOM .

This is the third instalment in this series, and the sixth book this author has written about this story. As someone who has read all of them, I would recommend maybe skipping this one unless you really want to read a handful of interesting chapters about Dionysus and Ariadne. After reading it, I don't think I have any new information or hold any insight as to what A Touch of Chaos may look like. I will say, though, the my complains about this book are just about the same as they were with A Touch of Malice , so if you loved that book, then you'll really enjoy this one.

"'It is not our love I worry about,' he said. 'It is what I will destroy to keep it.'"

Thank you Scarlett St. Clair, Sourcebooks, Bloom, and NetGalley for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

This is the third and final installment of the Hades Saga from the Scarlett St. Clair's Hades x Persephone series. I have really enjoyed this series. A Game of Gods shows Hades POV through A Touch of Malice. We learn more about what he does "behind the scenes" in a sense to all this things we didn't learn through Persephone's POV. It adds to the story and since Hades is so much older than Persephone, we learn even more about the Gods, Goddesses, and New Athens that we didn't already know.

Hades is my favorite character in this series and the way he sees Persephone really helped me see her character in a new light. Seeing his anguish over the things he can't control while trying to keep her safe tore my heart to shreds, He is one of the best examples of a morally grey character that will set the world ablaze for the person he loves and he is my favorite version of Hades from all the retellings I have read!

I can't recommend this book enough. I am so ready to read what happens next in A Touch of Chaos!

Rating: 4.5 stars

The things that exited me and I loved so much about this book :
- Multiple POV
- Just the right amount of spice
- The characters and world building was perfection
- Fated mates

I loved everything about this book. I adore Scarlett’s writing and books so I knew that this story was going to be yet another one that I couldn’t get enough of. We follow Hades & Persephone through this one and they sure didn’t disappoint. I loved following their story though this book.

This book was definitely a page turner all the way to the end. I can’t wait until the next book to see what is going to happen next. If you enjoy the things listed above please do not hesitate to add this book to your TBR.

I definitely will be purchasing a physical copy of this book and I’d love to get my hands on an audiobook of this!!!

A Game of Gods was everything I was hoping for and more!! Hades's and Persephone's relationship is flawed but burns so bright. I loved watching them work out how to support each other while fighting their own demons. There are a few new perspectives in this novel that shiny a new light on some of the events in A Touch of Malice. Some had me grinning like a fool, and others made my skin crawl. I can hardly wait for fans of the series to experience this new entry!! Easy 11/10!

An fiery and fantastic end to the Hades saga. It was a spicy, emotional ride and I was there for all of it. Scarlett St. Clair really has a talent for taking the original Greek myths and blending them within her new stories.

No one hate me because I really love seeing the Hades POV of the story but I found myself really looking forward to Dionysus’ chapters.

If I had to point out anything… I forgot how much of Hades’s and Persephone’s interactions in this book were after she was sleeping.

I can’t wait to see what happens in A TOUCH OF CHAOS.

My thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

"'Since when have you ever worried over carnage?'
'Since I decided to marry the Goddess of Spring.'
'Foolish man. You never had a choice.'"

This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and it did not disappoint! A Game of Gods picks up right where we left off in the Hades Saga continuing the dramatic and passionate story of Hades and Persephone as they fight to be together, told through Hades' point of view.

"Apart, you are both powerful, to be sure, but together, you are unstoppable."

I love the characters and the world so much! Hermes and Hecate are absolute icons and I would love to see them each get their own books. Of course, grumpy Hades and sunshine Persephone are the absolute best and I loved their every interaction. I really enjoyed the addition of Dionysus's point of view as we got to see a fresh new story and I am very excited to see how paths will cross in A Touch Of Chaos.

"It was hard to fear death when faced with it every day."

At times the story felt choppy as many events/scenes are "cut out" or shortened compared to the same scene in the Hades x Persephone series where they were much more drawn out. I get why this was done since you would basically be reading the exact same thing, but I think the transitions at times could have been better. Needless to say, I am beyond excited for A Touch of Chaos and can not wait to experience the dramatic conclusion to this story!

Big thank you NetGalley and to the publisher for the chance to review this book pre-release. I really loved this addition to the "Touch of Malice" book, and the expanded views that we got with additional POV's. I've read nearly every novel from Ms. St. Clair, and have yet to be disappointed in anything that she writes! A more formal review will be available on my IG/TikTok and Goodreads.

I absolutely loved A Game Of Gods! Easily 5/5 stars, I couldn’t put this book down. I was super excited to be approved for this book, Scarlett St Clair is one of my favourite authors. I have read all her book and this one did not disappoint. A Game Of Gods is the last book in the Hades Saga but it is the companion series to the Hades x Persephone series which the final book A Touch Of Chaos comes out later this year which I can not wait for. This book is released July 25,2023. Thank you Sourcebooks Bloom Books, Scarlett St Clair and Netgalley for an opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book.

I love the nuance Hades’s perspective offers to the entire story St. Clair is weaving. There is so much more going on in this plot than what we originally receive through Persephone’s POV, and I love watching the world grow as part of St. Clair’s writing process. I feel so much closer to characters like Hades, Dionysus, Hecate, Apollo, and Hermes. I also really enjoyed how A Game of Gods opened up different sides to the story with the inclusion of Dionysus’s and Theseus’s perspectives. This book was everything I wanted and more, knowing how things ended in A Touch of Malice. I cannot wait to see how everything wraps up with the release of A Touch of Chaos this fall!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bloom Books for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

And the obsession continues!

This was a 5 star read for me and my favorite book of the ATOD series.

I LOVED getting into Hades mind in this book and seeing everything that happened BTS. I love seeing what Hades is up to each time he sneaks out from Persephone. It's absolutely amazing how much goes on that she doesn't know about.

The Game of Gods is a true game that each of these gods and goddesses plays flawlessly. There is so much tension, drama, heartache, laughter, and growth intertwined in this book.

I absolutely LOVED it.

Another amazing instalment in the Hades saga. Scarlett St. Clair is so masterful in her writing and creates an amazing retelling. I loved seeing into Hades and Dionysus heads and seeing their love lives unfold. It was really great seeing a bigger view of all the gods and how things work with a bit more detail and I think this made such an amazing addition to the overall series. I can not wait for A Touch of Chaos.

3.5 Stars A Game of Gods by Scarlett St. Clair is partially a retelling of her novel A Touch of Malice, with multiple POVs and new stories that we did not get in the original since it was solely from Persephone’s POV. It was fun to read Hades’ POV of this story, especially seeing what he was up to when he wasn’t with Persephone. I didn’t expect to enjoy Dionysus’s POV as much as I did, but I loved reading the start of his and Ariadne’s love story and I hope we get more of it in A Touch of Chaos. If you liked the Touch of Darkness series, you should definitely read the Hades saga!

An incredible installment from hades PoV! Aie+]!amajAiGSkfp!!!!!! Look…. Loooooook. I love this series. And I love the Hades saga so much. And in my ✨humble✨ opinion, this is the best of all 3 books from Hades pov and it’s probably tied with being my favorite book from this world with Malice… which makes sense since it’s Malice from Hades pov lol. But let me just tell you. Gods is chonky. Soooo much is happening and we get a couple extra points of view other than Hades which makes the story even more intricate. One word. Dionysus. Pls gods help me him and Ari are so fine. And the interactions with Hephaestus. Pls I can’t wait for his and aphrodites book… I’m rambling.. I love Hades point of view so much mainly because I feel like we get a much more vast viewing into all the gods and their machinations and it’s so fascinating to me. But along with that we get to see tender Hades, vulnerable Hades, stupid Hades, all of his forms and I just feel like you’re able to appreciate this world as a whole more when you read his books.

Without a doubt, the Hades saga is the best of Scarlett St. Clair’s writing. I have at this point read most of her work and will call it something of a mixed bag. All of it is very addictive, however it can range anywhere from unbearable to just needing more polishing. I’m not talking about editing either, the storytelling and characters are all over the place.

For the Hades Saga though, and Game of Gods in particular. I just genuinely enjoyed it, without feeling the need to turn a blind eye to any developmental inconsistencies or awkward characterizations. I genuinely enjoy the story and the plot lines are coming together well. I was surprised that I was as invested as I was in some of the side plots outside of Hades and Persephone’s relationship. Specifically, I thought Dionysus and Ariadne had a very compelling storyline.

My only true criticism of ‘Game of Gods’ is that at this point in the correlation between this and ‘A Touch of Malice’ (Persephone’s POV of this same story) there’s a lot more overlapping content than there was at the beginning of the series. It unfortunately did start to feel pretty repetitive during certain scenes and it almost makes me wish that we were already at a dual POV single timeline, like the final book in the series is planned to be. Still I did enjoy and this succeeded in amping me up for the release of A Touch of Chaos in a few months!

Once again I am left speechless over the magic that is Scarlett St Clair’s writing… I may go as far as to say this is my favorite Scarlett St Clair book to date. The depth of characters and world building we get just adds a whole different layer to Hades & Persephone’s story.

I fell in love with getting multi POVs & need so much more from Dionysus & Ariadne - as in I need an entire series of them! The amount of detail and moving pieces in this story is mind blowing - and the way Scarlett weaves it all together in a heart racing, anxiety inducing story will have you devouring this story to find out what happens next.

Now off to nurse my insane book hangover until A Touch of Chaos and the conclusion of this story releases in September… JK I preordered the Game of Gods audio and will re-listen on release day in July 🤣

I’ve been in such a slump after a spate of bad/mediocre books that I had to read for a challenge. So it was good to come back to one of my favs.

I love reading Hades POV and seeing all the extra things that are going on in this world that we miss in the original books.
Malice was tough as so much was happening and I raced through it because it was so jam packed. It’s nice to slow down and see it all from the other side and take my time to understand what was happening and how it impacted the characters. Hades is obsessed with his woman - like literally obsessed. That constant level of worry and anxiety he carries around must be exhausting! Good thing he’s a god and doesn’t require much sleep. The only time he’s happy is literally when he’s inside her lol. In real life I’d say he needs therapy but again he’s a god that has lived through millennia and dealt with situations we can only imagine.

I loved the scenes with Dionysius and Ariadne - I really like their developing relationship and hope they can work it out. Can’t wait to see what happens with them. Theseus is still a shit and I can’t wait for Sephy to destroy him.

I think the Sephy books are more plot and action and the Hades books are more character based - depends on what style you prefer. Feels like we are quickly coming to a conclusion and I’m sad even as I can’t wait for Chaos to launch this year. What will I do when this series is over?

Diving back into Hades head is one of my favorite things to do. Just seeing how much he’s changed in his mentality since ATOD is staggering. Yes he’s very much still the alpha-hole male but he’s also so much more in love with Persephone and it’s so beautiful to see. To see how much he thinks about her…and not just sexually. Yes Hades is basically a walking boner when Sephy is around but his love for her is endless. I’m always completely amazed by the amount of detail Scarlett puts into her books and I think the Hades pov series is a shining example of that. You read Persephone’s pov and think you have a grasp of the story…haha jokes on you. The amount of events, people, and just sheer feeling Scarlett has added to this books is…*bows to the queen of smut. She’s amazing. If you are thinking that the Hades Saga was just written for extra money or for funzies….you couldn’t be more wrong. Scarlett wrote this series but cause WE (her rabid fans) asked for it. She took something that I honestly would have been happy with it being just a rewrite of ATOD in Hades head. She took it and made it something so much more than I could have ever dreamed, something so intricate and fantastic I can’t even put it into words. So in short READ THE HADES SAGA or be lost in A Touch of Chaos.
