DNF @ 40%. I have tried a few times to read this book, but the characters are just so juvenile that I just can't seem to get into it. One bed, forced proximity, and grumpy/sunshine are some of my favorite tropes, and while most of these aspects are fine, I hated that it felt lile Hope and Mitchell were constantly playing games with each other and can't stay in a single room together and hash out all of their hang-ups like grown-ups! At 40% into the book, they are still behaving this way! Hope feels like she knows who Mitchell is and what he likes without having a real conversation with him and asking him for herself. Mitchell is possessive and has had messed up views on bodies because of the influence of his mother, who has always said that anything bigger than a size two isn't beautiful. This book feels like it wants to have a strong, confident plus size main female character but simultaneously get away with making comments and displaying remarks about how being plus size is wrong and makes you less-than. The way Mitchell and his friends talk about women also turned me off, which sucks because they seem like great friends apart from their misogyny. Some of the writing is really, really cheesy, and I don't think it's strictly because of the insta-love premise. I also kept asking myself, shouldn't Hope go and get her head checked regardless of the winter storm? At several moments, I wondered if she had a concussion from her car wreck! Natasha Richardson DIED hitting her head during a skiing accident because she didn't seek proper medical attention! I know there is a snowstorm preventing them from making it far, but it took me out of the book! I won't be finishing this one.

Thank you to NetGalley, Entangled Publishing, LLC, Entangled Amara, and Aliyah Burke for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for my review.

This had a cute premise and I had high hopes but it just fell a little short for me. There was a lot of diversity and I did enjoy a lot of it. However, the romance felt a little forced and I didn't feel the connection between the characters. It didn't feel all the romantic to me honestly.

I had super high hopes for this book given the diverse characters (plus size, BIPOC and a doctor? Yes pls.), but the second half of this book had me feeling like it was written by someone completely different. The romance felt forced. Props for the diversity, just wasn't my cup of tea.

This was pretty fun and I definitely enjoyed the sunshine/grumpy trope as well as having one of the main characters be a black woman. The second half felt a little rushed and kind of threw me off but the first half is really good.

Thank you Aliyah Burke, Entangled, and NetGalley for this arc in exchange for my honest review!

I didn't realize at first that this book was part of a series. These books are interconnected standalone books, so you don't need to read the previous books to understand what is going on this book. However, I loved all the characters in "No Cooldown for Love" and definitely plan to go back and read the previous to read more about the some of the side characters in this book. The relationship Mitchell has with his two best friends was so sweet to read about. It is one of the main reasons I want to go back and read the first two books in this series.

The tension between Mitchell and Hope!!! I loved it! I'm a big fan of forced proximity and this book did not disappoint. Their physical relationship made a lot of sense, but I did feel like their emotional relationship came a little out of no where. Yes, Mitchell did open up a lot to Hope, but Hope wasn't as quick to open up (with good reason). So it did seem a little rushed with that in mind.

Overall, I really enjoyed "No Cooldown for Love" and can't wait to read more books by Aliyah Burke!

I had high hopes for this book. I enjoy a good insta-love, grumpy/sunshine, only one bed trope. This first half of the book was wonderful and delivered on this. The second half felt very dragged out and inconsistent with the first half. It took my 4.5🌟 down to a 3 🌟 because it felt very forced and not like the characters from the beginning. Props to having the leading lady be a plus size doctor who is awesome.

No Cooldown for Love was a fun read. I’m always a fan of the sunshine/grumpy and this was it. I loved the community the MMC had built with his friends and their families. I love that the connection between the two main characters wasn’t immediate. The attraction, sure, but I liked that there was some build up.

That being said, I felt that the last quarter of the book was rushed and portions of the story were either not explained, or seemed out of character. The introduction of the FMC best friend wasn’t the smoothest and felt really forced, although there was some alluding to him earlier in the book. Perhaps some internal dialogue or more description earlier in the book would be helpful for this part of the book.

Overall I would still recommend for a fun summer read or palate cleanser. I will look forward to other books by the author.

Thanks to Entangked publishing, Netgalley and the author for an ARC of this book. I am leaving this unbiased review voluntarily.

I love these books and the way the author entwines curvy heroines with unspeakably hot and tortured heroes. This instalment was the one I was waiting for. Mitchell has seen his best friends fall in love, but his ex-wife has done a number on him, and he is not in the market for a partner.

The he meets Hope, a super-intelligent and beautiful woman, who he rescues and is snowed in with. She's mourning the passing of her mentor and also has her mind on other things, having had her heart broken before.

I love the spice and the banter and Mitchell's barely contained jealousy. It all makes for a really fun and light read. While there were some moments when the dialogue bordered on corny for me, I loved the way these two find and hold on to each other.

I can't wait for the next book by this author. Maybe Mitchell's sister will get a chance at love too?

Wowie this book has a lot of intricate pros and cons, but overall it was VERY FUN AND SWEET, I loved the characters, and my enjoyment of it pleasantly surprised me!

This is a romance between an ex pro basket-ball player, Mitchell, and a science journalist, Hope-- she gets in a car accident, he rescues her, they get snowed into a Bed and Breakfast that just so happens to be holding a Singles event so lots of fun, flirting, games, cozy nights by wood fires, making new friends ensues. OH AND THERE'S ONLY ONE BED HAHAHAHAHAHAH. This "stuck together at the inn" was a very huge part of the book, I think like 50% or more follows this plot line and I enjoyed it SO MUCH. I think it's important to stress how much of a cozy, snowed-in romance this actually is because the cover for this book doesn't suggest it... like, at all. I found the chemistry and banter between Mitchell and Hope to be super cute and delightfully UNwholesome-- another thing that pleasantly surprised me about this book/the writing; it does get really steamy and the sex scenes are pretty well-written! I thought it would be much more closed-door. When the story is revolving around Mitchell and Hope getting to know one another at the inn, getting a little jealous of each other when they're flirting with other single guests, and of course sharing a bed for multiple nights in a row with the tension building and BUILDING, I think it's so engaging and well-paced for such a huge part of the story where nothing really happens.

The latter half of the book is where some things kind of unravel for me. I really thought I would give this an easy 4 stars up until 50-60%, but lots of ridiculous miscommunications and inconsistencies stood out in the second half that made it impossible to get to a 4 star to me. Mitchell reuniting with his two best friends after getting out of the inn with Hope was really sweet because the portrayal of healthy male friendships in this book is *chefs kiss*, but at the same time, these men are so "I AM MAN AND I LOVE MY WOMAN". You need to know that they all call their significant others their "women". LIKE?!?!?! And as weird and alpha-male as that sounds, I COULD STILL FIND A LOT OF ENJOYMENT IN IT... so whatever LOL.

Something I found amazing about this books is the plus-size representation in Hope. She is such a Cool Girl (she's a DOCTOR!!!), with a heart of gold, an adorably nerdy personality, and she's so sexy, not just to Mitchell but to me as well. Wife. And the way the author constantly convey's how much Mitchell is attracted to Hope, the way she looks, and the person that she is, kept me going on this one. The lusting and loving was strong :')

I'm definitely going to read the first 2 books in this series about Mitchell's 2 best friends because i'm a character-driven girly and I think Aliyah Burke sprinkles sugar into her characters to maybe make readers overlook all the cons lol. The story is sometimes irrational, the dialogue is sometimes wooden and overwritten, BUT IT WAS A FUN TIME FOR ME. SHE IS GORGEOUS 2 ME <3

No Cooldown for Love has easily become one of my favorite books ever. Hope is so resilient, strong, smart, funny and many more amazing things. It made me so happy to see Hope accepted by Mitchell’s closest friends and their families. I really enjoyed the pace in which Hope and Mitchell’s relationship came along. I wish we could have seen a bit more into both Hope and Mitchell’s lives growing up. Wow, did I cry towards the end there. I honestly didn’t expect for Hope and Mitchell to split like that but I should have know given all that we got know about Mitchell’s mom. My heart broke for Hope as I read that bit. But I’m very happy with the ending and glad that Mitchell realized his big mistake and got his Flykra back.

This was a great read for me. I have been on a run of sports romance books so this was a great fit and hit all the right boxes for me.

thank you to netgalley for sending me this arc! i feel like tension and chemistry between the characters was good and i really liked the characters! the forced proximity trope was also executed very well! however, i this book had a little insta-love which really just isn’t my thing. additionally, i think that once they left the inn the plot just fell apart and got boring. my biggest complaint about this book was the third act breakup. i hated how even though he was mad at her, he stood there a listened to his mom say horrible things about her, not defend her, and i especially did not like how he used all of her insecurities against her. even though they made up, i really just could not like him as much after that. overall, i think this book was pretty good but maybe just not the one for me.

The book is about the fears of finding love and the insecurities of letting yourself fall for someone. I LOVED the plus sized Hope with her flaws ❤️ She is so strong an independent. She was just perfect 🥰
Michelle is an ex-NBA player who divorced. He is the grumpy guy while she is his sunshine. Together they were ideal.
I didn't liked the lack of communication between the two of them. I think the third act breakup could have been avoided if they talked to each other. Anyway other than that I absolutely LOVED IT!
If you are looking for an instalove, one bed, forced proximity trope then this is the one you have to read.

"No Cooldown for Love" by Aliyah Burke delves into the anxieties of discovering love after experiencing fame and the insecurities that arise when allowing oneself to become emotionally invested in another person. The protagonist, Mitchell, is a former NBA player who has grappled with the repercussions of his celebrity status. After leaving his past life behind, he encounters Hope, a scientific journalist who is grieving the loss of her father figure. Their paths converge at an inn, where their tumultuous love story begins. Amidst the chaos, their relationship becomes a source of healing for both characters as they actively strive to better themselves.

Mitchell possesses numerous flaws, particularly in his perception of others, while Hope's shortcomings include her tendency to keep her emotions guarded. As the narrative progresses, both individuals undergo personal growth and development, ultimately transforming into stronger and more self-aware individuals.

When two people have a chemistry so strong it’s like the pages of the book you are reading are going to start on fire, that sure means it’s an enjoyable book. Aliyah Burke sure knew how to do just that when she was writing her latest book, ‘No Cooldown for Love’.

‘No Cooldown for Love’ is book three of the Rock Falls series by Aliyah Burke. As someone who didn’t read the first two books, I was a bit worried that I would be confused or lost when it came to the characters. Aliyah was able to write this book to not only make it part of a series but if you wanted to read it as a standalone you would be able to. I will say once you read this book you are going to want to read the other books in this series.

Here is a description of ‘No Cooldown for Love’:

When ex-pro basketball player Mitchell Anderson sees an overturned car on the edge of a cliff during a nasty snowstorm, he knows he has only minutes to rescue the woman trapped inside. What he’s not expecting is their instant attraction, or that she can deliver one hell of a pick-up line even under the most terrifying of circumstances.

Hope Roman’s entire life is on the edge. She’s already overwhelmed with grief and upset, and nearly dying is pretty much the icing on a terrible, soggy cake. So it’s just her luck that she’s suddenly snowbound at a charming little inn with the hottest, yet down right grumpiest, man she’s ever met. And naturally, there’s only one room left.

Now the pillow barrier between them keeps disappearing. And the walls are coming down. But Hope knows she doesn’t belong in Mitchell’s world any more than he belongs in hers. The question is whether either of them can trust the other long enough to play for keeps…

Right when Michell and Hope meet you can tell the spark between them is there. Both characters have flaws and baggage from the the past. But while the story moved on they were able to put each other together.

This book had the right amount of steam with sweet to really make it one you hate to put down. I mean it only took me two days to read this as it was the first book, I would always grab from my reading pile. As this book is one, I really enjoyed I am giving it 4 stars. It was a very well written Rom-Com that you could totally be seen as a movie someday.

‘No Cooldown for Love’ was just released and available wherever you get your books. And if you are a Kindle Unlimited member this is included in your membership.

DNF page 68.

Some of the banter and quick wit was good.
Nothing really grabbed me and made me stick with it though.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

I absolutely went into this book with excitement and the cover was just the icing on the cake. The book tells the story of ex-pro basketball player Mitchell Anderson saves Hope from going over. The heroic act is swoon worthy but it quickly turns a corner when they are trapped in a little inn. It's a close proximity, grumpy and sunshine romance perfect for the cold winter nights you need some warmth. I loved it.

This book captured my attention right from the first page. The authors writing was solid even when the plot took us through a few different turns. It is a sweet insta-love romance between Mitchell, an ex-NBA player, and Hope, who is a science journalist. The two meet when Mitchell rescues Hope from a car accident in a crazy snow storm. This results in them having to share a bed at an inn where their chemistry and the tension between them truly peaks. From there we follow their insta-love relationship through its ups and downs starting mainly at the inn and then following them to a small town. This story had some really sweet and adorable moments. I truly melted each time Mitchell called her his “Flykra”. I’m giving this book 3 stars because I’m not the biggest fan of insta-love as a trope and would have loved to see them develop a little more as a couple. By the end of the book they had also been through so much that I was holding by breath for the ending. All in all not a bad summer read!
