I wish there was more buildup and more about Hope, but overall I enjoyed this book. I really liked Burke's writing, it flowed really well for me. Again though, I wish it took more and there was more that ultimately led to their dynamic. I do really like though how much of the book took place at the inn, I thought that was really nice.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for this eARC!

I feel bad for not liking this book. I wish I could love it but I did not feel the chemistry between the character at all.

This started off cute but was very boring overall. There's chemistry between Mitchell and Hope but no substance. And all the game playing--literal, not figurative--seemed like a method to add pages to an already pointless plot. The cover art is the best thing about this book. Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC

When ex-pro basketball player Mitchell Anderson sees an overturned car on the edge of a cliff during a nasty snowstorm, he knows he has only minutes to rescue the woman trapped inside. What he’s not expecting is their instant attraction.

Hope Roman’s entire life is on the edge. She’s already overwhelmed with grief and upset, and nearly dying is pretty much the icing on a terrible, soggy cake. So it’s just her luck that she’s suddenly snowbound at a charming little inn with the hottest, yet down right grumpiest, man she’s ever met. And naturally, there’s only one room left.

The one bed troupe...it should have been good
I was bored out of my mind. Maybe because it felt like it dragged and dragged and dragged.
And also, i had no connection to Hope and felt just ok about Mitchell.

Thank you to net Galley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

No Cooldown for Love is book 3 in the Rock Falls series by Aliyah Burke and these can be read as a standalone.

Another fun and enjoyable read by Aliyah Burke.
This was funny and refreshing, totally entertaining.
With its cute and enjoyable storyline, this book was a refreshing and engaging read.
There was plenty of banter, excellent chemistry and characters who I enjoyed from the moment I opened this book.
An easy read with excellent character development and descriptions that had me completely living in the story. It was a great rom-com.

A sexy romantic-comedy about one room, one bed, and a man who knows how to play…

I’ve read book two and adored it. So now the first one is high on my list to buy.

Thank you to NetGalley, Entangled Publishing, LLC & Aliyah Burke for an ARC copy of No Cooldown for Love in exchange for my honest review.

No Cooldown for a Love is an insta-love story between an ex-NBA player, Mitchell Anderson, and science journalist, Dr. Hope Roman. I enjoyed the diversity aspect of this book - a Black female MC, body diversity and the representation of someone who has been in the foster care system.

Mitchell is, admittedly, not my favorite male MC - some of the language he used was quite possessive, and that took me out of the story when that happened. Fellow reviewers have mentioned that they don't feel like the cover matches the story, and I would agree - while Mitchell is an ex-NBA player, the majority of the book takes place at an Inn/B&B. I feel like the cover could have reflected the book a bit better.

On the pepper scale, I'd give it 3/5 (some chapters are very open-door) and 3/5 overall.

Ok. Ok. Strangers to Lovers and one bed??? Mitchell and Hope meet when he spots her car upside down almost falling off the cliff. Mitchell couldn’t help but save her but he finds himself attracted to Hope even though she is in extreme danger. Once Mitchell saves Hope they are forced to find a hotel because the snowstorm is too bad to drive and the roads are shut down. Only one room available and the pair must share the same bed because hope won’t allow Mitchell to sleep on the floor.

The attraction between the two is cute and they couldn’t help but fall for each other. I read this in one sitting and I really enjoyed this book. This was my first read from this author and I will be reading the other books based off of this one. 4.5/5 ⭐️ read.

No Cooldown for Love by Aliyah is a fun and sexy sports romance that I really enjoyed!

I love strangers to lovers trope and the author nailed that.

Mitchell (ex-pro basketball player) and Hope have the best chemistry.

Their meet cute is Mitchell saving Hope from going over a cliff in a snowstorm.

Enter the inn with the one bed trope!

I absolutely LOVED this book and the characters and the slow burn tension.

A great romance that I really enjoyed! I really enjoyed the diverse, multicultural characters.

Thank you Entangled Publishing for the ARC of this book! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Overall, I found this to be an enjoyable read. The premise was unique and different and of course it featured a stranger to lovers trope and one bed trope, which are two of my favorites!

What I would’ve like to see more of was moments of chemistry building between the two main characters. You know the attraction is there because you are told it was there, but there wasn’t much interaction that really made me buy in. I found it hard to believe that the love was so strong, especially on the mmc’s part.

I did enjoy the friendships in the book, though! Very sweet and added a wonderful touch.

Requested this based on the cute cover and fun premise, however I did not end up enjoying it. First of all, it’s third in a series, which there was NO indication of in the description which I find frustrating because I really hate reading a book that’s part of a series without reading the other books first. (I know it’s technically stand alone but you miss so many details and nuances and pre-character development when you jump into book 3).

The car crash to start and the insta love just ended up being a little too out there for me, as well as the MMC being way too possessive and just not someone I really wanted to root for.

This was a very fast read for me! Mitchell Anderson recently got divorced and basically took off to Canada for two weeks. One the way back, he finds an overturned car and rescues the gal, Hope Roman who was trying to get to a funeral, from the car and they go to an inn that happens to be nearby and get snowed in at the inn that happens to be also hosting singles night, or week at this point. They get stuck sharing one room and trying to avoid the chemistry that is clearly building between the two of them.

This was a cute read. The romance was definitely on the instalove side, not my favorite, but I did love the interactions between the two of them while at the inn, especially when Mitchell was very possessive of her. Usually that bothers me, but I found it quite hilarious when they were surrounded by all these singles at this inn.

My biggest issue with the book was the misunderstanding at the end. When a misunderstanding or miscommunication occurs, the book usually loses me. And this one was no exception and it really made no sense with the way everyone reacted, especially after getting to know each other pretty well, although one of them proceeded to not tell the other something and so I feel like it is on them, but still, no talking just accusing. And to me that’s just not okay.

Aside from that, it’s a cute romance and although it wasn’t my favorite, I would recommend it if you want to read a cute romance. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the free digital copy to read. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks to Net Galley and Entangeled Publishing I just finished No Cooldown for Love by Aliyah Burke. This is a Contemporary Romance introducing us to Hope and Mitchell. This is the third book in the Rock Falls series. I enjoyed re-visiting this world and this group of friend. Hope and Mitchell met on a dark and stormy night! After Mitchell found Hope on the side of the rode after an accident. This quickly became a Forced Proximity - sharing a bed romance. Mitchell who is a recently divorced, retired professional athlete rescued Hope from a wintery car accident after she left her mentor’s funeral. They happen upon a singles get together at the bed and breakfast as they sought shelter from a severe snow storm. Hope and Mitchell quickly began to develop feelings for one another as they were forced to share a room during the severe snow storm. I really enjoyed this book and this couple. The third act conflict - miscommunication- was quickly resolved and the story ended with a great wrap up for the series highlighting the friend group of this series. I gave this book 4 Stars and would recommend this book and series.

In terms of what I liked about this book I appreciated the setting of the snow in and thought the one bed trope going as long as it did was cute. I also really liked the cover which is what drew me in but it’s a little odd to me since the sport is more a background thing in my opinion. It does move pretty quickly so if you like that, then it would probably be a plus for you.

Outside of that this book wasn’t for me, and if I didn’t have an ARC of it I probably would not have continued to read it. I hadn’t expected it to be in third person which really threw me off and caused me to have issues keeping straight who was saying what in the beginning especially. I didn’t really like the mmc and the way he spoke about certain things, specifically women, and because of that I wasn’t at all invested in their story from early on.

A dangerous storm on snowy roads is a strange place to find love, but when ex-NBA player Mitchell Anderson spots a stranded driver just before her car tumbles down a ravine, he’s instantly determined to save her. Mitchell and Hope end up stuck at a cozy inn for a few days in the last room available (with only one bed). What else might be occurring at the inn? A singles mixer! The perfect chance for Hope and Mitchell to break down a few of the barriers they quickly put up, both physical and emotional, between the two of them.

The premise sounded fun, but I just didn’t love this one. Right from the start, I was uncomfortable with the way Mitchell and his friends talked about his ex, and I never felt like Mitchell became more than an alpha, controlling, grump. Hope was a great female main character, but I also wanted more of her background! While the two begin lusting after each other almost immediately, I had trouble buying their chemistry, and they spend a great deal of time trying to deny the connection without much of a reason for the avoidance.

Thank you to NetGalley, Entangled Publishing, and the author for the opportunity to read and review this book!

The book was alright. I struggled to gain interest at the beginning, but once the characters met and their relationship began, I was sucked into the story and the actions/reactions of the characters. While I personally am not a fan of the "instant-relationship" trope, and felt that some of the plot points and characters lacked depth and development, it was an easy read and kept my attention throughout the entire story.

I really liked Hope as a character. I absolutely loved that she has multiple degrees and is a Doctor, but I feel like they focused so much on making her appearance and personality different from Mitchell's ex, that her accomplishments and the weight they hold was swept aside. As someone who is in grad school and would like to someday hold the "Doctor" title, I think her accomplishments needed to be emphasized more, not just as something that makes her "different".

I had a lot of hope in Mitchell's character development while they were at the inn, but I hated him in the 3rd act. Without spoiling too much, he took the word of someone he already struggled to trust (for years) over Hope, who he had referenced multiple times as being genuine. There were so many comments made about Hope and "her kind" that I honestly think she would have been better off without Mitchell in her life.

2 stars!

I really wanted to like this and with how it kicked off and how they met I was rooting for them. But something happened. For me, the story just seemed to lose that spark I felt it had. It got a little boring and I just lost interest in the story and the characters. I loved how they were written when they met and the dynamic between them during when they first get to the hotel but then it fizzled out for me sadly.

DNF at 14%😵‍💫

it's hard to rate a book on its 2 first chapters so the 2 stars are probably harsh but I can't go on when at only 10%, after 24 hours of knowing each other, he refers to her as "my snowflake" (not skin tone related). no slow start that's for sure 💀

they're way too intense way too fast it's just not for me so I'm leaving it there, hope someone can enjoy their story and Mitchell's uncomprehensible character more than I did 🥰

Thank you to Entangle Publishing and Netgalley for providing me with an eARC of this book!

I really really wanted to like this book. I am such a sucker for only one bed and forced proximity, and half of this book was exclusively that. However, it just kind of felt like it dragged on for a lot longer than necessary- I would have rather the author focused on the two main characters more than try to establish a relationship between Hope and these random side characters that disappear halfway through the book and are only ever mentioned again a couple of times. Hope and Mitchell's relationship felt very insta-love/lust, which is not a trope I enjoy, and I think their dynamic would have been helped by showing them at least having a few conversations before being overcome with love for each other. Another aspect that really turned me off from liking this book as much as I hoped I would was Mitchell as a character. All throughout the book he was unreasonably jealous and possessive of Hope, even before he'd had a single conversation with her where he conveyed any interest at all to her. Especially in the last part of the book, I found myself increasingly annoyed with his apparently caveman-like mindset on Hope and becoming furious at every interaction she had with a man that wasn't him. I also didn't appreciate him blatantly disrespecting her wishes for space.

As much as Mitchell annoyed me, he cared for Hope and couldn't stop thinking about her, so the conflict for this story came out of left field in a not-fun way. It felt wildly out of character and like the author was just creating conflict to create conflict. I don't think the story needed it- I had just begun to appreciate the dynamic Hope and Mitchell had and then it was completely blown up, That's not to say the story was all bad! I did like Linc and Tully, and it was refreshing to see three grown men with a friendship where they were there for each other and openly talked about hard topics and how to deal with them. We love emotionally supportive best friends. And Hope! Outside of Mitchell, I really liked her (but absolutely no one in their right mind is doing multiple doctorates, especially in such different fields) and would have loved more focus on her and her life outside of Mitchell. We got only bare bones details about her and I wanted more! I absolutely connected with her and her loneliness in the world. Having to constantly be the only one who's there for yourself is absolutely exhausting and I want only nice things for her for the rest of her life. I'm so glad she found friends throughout the course of this book and started making a life that made her feel fulfilled and truly happy.

No Cooldown for Love was a quick, light and easy read. Our main characters are forced into close proximity (one of my favorite tropes) when the MMC, Mitchell, rescues Hope, MC, during a snow storm and they are stuck staying at a hotel together. Of course, there’s just one room and one bed. As luck would have it, the hire is hosting a singles meet up and Mitchell is instantly jealous & possessive after just meeting her. He has a few things to work through with a gold-dogging ex (he’s a professional basketball player) and so Hope has her own problems as well.

Overall -3.5 Stars.

I enjoyed the story, but the writing style wasn’t to my preference. I do wish more descriptions were used with better dialogue between the characters.

I received a free advanced readers copy of this book for my honest review.

*3.5

I enjoyed this book and I think they had chemistry but they never talked. How did he not know her job until after they got in a big fight? Also the fight came out of literally nowhere. They were fine one moment and the next he blew up on her. I did like the found family vibes in this book though.

I received an arc through netgalley.
