I really enjoyed this! I didn’t read the first book in the series but didn’t even realize it was part of a series until I was halfway through. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book really just jumps into it. Kylie is already missing for weeks now. The cops know she had gone missing and had been held captive in an empty apartment. They already suspect each of her husbands and have other suspects as well. Kylie’s husbands did not know about one another until she went missing. It wasn’t known she was a bigamist.

I just found it so hard to get into when I was thrown into an already ongoing story. It felt like I started reading from the middle and I was never able to really catch up.

I also just found out after reading it that it indeed is a second part to an already published book I have not read. Knowing that I would have read the first book first to ensure I understood. This book is not a standalone in my opinion.

Lotsa twists and turns; lotsa holes; lotsa fantasy but a gripping mystery especially if you're prepared to put aside reality and common sense. I enjoyed it. Definitely escape fiction.

At the end where I saw that this book was a sequel to one in which she married the 2nd husband, I realized that the lack of finale in Two Dead Wives was a set up for a 3rd novel. But just like some other things that didn't make sense, the charge of bigamy was dropped.

I received this ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a bag of mixed emotions for me. The first half was kind of blah, but finally halfway through it picked up and I couldn't stop reading. The story line is basically set between four main characters and how their lives are entwined by a woman that was married to two men and a jealous best friend. There are just a lot of things that I could not relate to with the characters or the story itself. There are also some areas that I felt were added into the story without any substance and I wasn't sure what the point was with the information. The second half of the story finally picked up with the two son's took off to find out what happened to their mother and got into trouble. You also started to feel sorry for some of the supporting characters of the story. The ending was also something I struggled with, as it basically shows two people that both cheated on each other staying together.

While this is not my favorite book from Adele Parks, I like her as an author and I will definitely read more of her stories.

Thank you Net Galley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for this ARC in turn for an honest review.

This story jumps into the investigation of a missing woman. I hadn't realized this book was a sequel.. It could probably stand alone, but the reader would have a greater appreciation for everything if they read them in order. I did enjoy the multiple POV's. It's a bit drawn out and could've benefitted from a tighter edit. Overall, this is a solid psychological thriller that also addresses how far someone would go to protect those they love.

This story jumps into the story of a missing, presumed dead, wife. We learn she was married to two men who did not know about each other. This domestic thriller gives us insight into the investigation and family dynamics in the months after she is reported missing.

This is a sequel to “Woman Last Seen.” I did not read book 1. I believe this could work as a stand-alone, but I think it would likely make more of an impact paired with the first.

Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade for the ARC. Adele Parks writes fun books that keep the reader turning pages. This one was no different. Quirky and entertaining.

I didn’t realize that this book was a sequel. I feel like that should be clearly stated in the description and/or title?

Anyways - I was able to read the book without missing meaning.

I thought it was weird that you knew the answer to the “who did it” 50% into the book.

Made the rest of the 50% a bore.

I did not realize that Two Dead Wives was a sequel until a few chapters in. While this book does pretty much stand alone, I can see how it would be helpful to have read the first book Woman Last Seen. It took me a few chapters to really figure out who each character was and how each were connected. Once I had a thorough grasp of the dynamics of the characters, it was easy to get engrossed in the novel. The pace is steady and the narrative switches between characters which gives the reader a great overview of all the perspectives. This really helps develop each voice and allows the reader to be kept on the edge of their seat as the plot thickens. Overall, this was a great psychological thriller and I will go back and read Woman Last Seen!

Thank you to NetGalley and Mira for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing, MIRA for the free e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is such a gripping, suspenseful and twisty read! Kylie Billingham is a bigamist who has vanished and from the scene of her apartment, she is presumed dead. DCI Clements and Tanner are searching for. The 2 main suspects are her 2 husbands, Mark Fletcher and Daan Janssen. The circumstantial evidence points to the likely murderer is Daan. Also, we learn about Stacie, who is living with her father while recovering from cancer surgery, has no memory of her life before the operation.

I did not know that this was a sequel but I don't think that you have to read the first book to read this one. However, I plan to read the first book to better understand the lead up story assuming it references the story behind the bigamous marriage.

This is an interesting read full of twists, especially with the dual plots and trying to figure out how they intersect. Definitely an interesting read!

This book starts full of action and doesn't let up until the last page!

Kylie is a married stepmother of 2...but also a married woman with no kids as she is married to 2 different men and is living 2 completely separate lives. When she goes missing after being held captive, the police automatically settle that it must be her husband. But which one? As the police work to put the clues together, thus story is told from the point of view of all the characters involved. Kylie, the husbands, the kids, the best friend, the police and a woman named Stacie who is recovering from brain cancer. What does she have to do with Kylie?

A very well done book and though I had the big twist figured out, it was a wonderful book to get lost in!

Kylie (or Leigh or Kai) is a bigamist, married to both a wealthy professional and a landscaper. When she is found murdered, her bigamy is discovered, and suspicion falls on both of her husbands. DCI Clements, along with her partner, work on solving the crime.

This novel is told from various points of view, including that of Stacie Jones, who having suffered amnesia from cancer treatments is trying to get some of her memories back. Adele Parks does well in weaving all of the characters and action together, but some of the storyline seemed a bit over the top to me and confusing at times. Also, I did not know that this was a sequel to a previous novel that Parks wrote, so perhaps that lessened my enjoyment somewhat.

All in all, this was a decent read, even as a standalone.

This was full of suspense and mystery.
A woman living two lives and now they collide with her missing.
The Inspector has no idea if she’s alive or dead or which husband to blame.
We go on a roller coaster ride with almost two stories going on at once. Once I picked this up, I couldn’t put it down. I just had to keep reading to see how it all came together.
A very interesting read.
Many thanks to Netgalley for the chance to read and review this one.

"Two Dead Wives" by Adele Parks is an engrossing thriller that artfully explores the depths of human emotions and the shadowy corners of love and betrayal. Parks intricately weaves a tale that is both complex and captivating, plunging the reader into a mystery that is as deep as it is dark.

The story centers around a missing woman with a mysterious past and the two husbands who become the prime suspects in her presumed murder. DCI Clements, a character skillfully crafted with a keen understanding of human nature, leads the investigation. His insights into the treacherous ways of the heart add a rich layer to the narrative.

Stacie Jones, another central character, provides a contrasting perspective to the unfolding drama. Her quiet life in a small village, under the care of her father, is a stark contrast to the scandal unfolding elsewhere. The juxtaposition of her secluded existence with the turbulent events of the investigation heightens the suspense.

Parks excels in creating a complex plot where every character's action is laden with meaning and consequence. The way she links the seemingly disparate lives of these families is a testament to her storytelling abilities. The narrative is filled with twists and turns, keeping the reader guessing until the very end.

"Two Dead Wives" is more than just a thriller; it's a profound examination of family dynamics and the lengths people will go to protect and avenge the ones they love. Parks' writing is sharp and engaging, making the book a perfect read for fans of psychological thrillers and crime fiction.

In summary, "Two Dead Wives" is a riveting and thought-provoking novel that showcases Adele Parks' talent for crafting suspenseful stories that explore the darker aspects of love and family. It's a must-read for anyone who enjoys a well-written, twisty thriller.

I had to wait to write this review because I didn't know how I really felt about it upon finishing. That said, I read another book while getting my thoughts together, and when finally writing this, I had to go back and read the description to remember it. I wasn't crazy about this one. Starting this felt like I was starting in the middle of something and come to find out it's a sequel to a previous book but was not advertised as such, wanting the readers to be surprised. For fans that read the first, I am sure that was a fabulous surprise. For those like me that hadn't, not so much. It can technically be read as a stand-alone, but I felt that to truly grasp the full story and characters, the first should be read beforehand. That said, the writing was great in itself, and the characters were all highly entertaining. While reading this, I was completely submerged. It just wasn't memorable after the fact. That is not to say that fans of this author or this genre will feel the same as I'm sure I'm in the minority. My rating is three and a half stars.

Thank you Netgalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for this ARC.

I read this as a standalone thriller, not knowing there was a prequel. I liked the multiple POV and the attention grabbing plot of a missing woman with 2 husbands.

Although I enjoyed the book and Adele Parks writing, it could have been nearly 100 pages shorter. The pacing felt off at times.

Thank you NetGalley and HQ for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A missing bigamist in the time of Covid is the premises of the sequel to book, Woman Last Seen.
The news is covered with the missing woman, Kylie Gillingham. Two husbands are under suspicion. I enjoyed the multiple points of perspectives from all the characters and the twists.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. Also, thanks to Harlequin Trade Publishing and the author Adele Parks.

Because I didn't read the first book I had a hard time reading this without knowing the details in the first book!
I couldn't finish it!

Oooo such a juicy story line. Very far fetched in some places but a very good sequel in the end. I did enjoy the mystery of it all but I was just very frustrated with some of the plot lines that went with the book. I’ll give it a solid 3.7/5

Two Dead Wives by Adele Parks picks up where Woman Last Seen left off and gives us a thrilling conclusion to the story of Kai/Leigh/Kylie and her two husbands, Mark and Daan, and step-sons, Oli & Seb, as well as her once best-friend, Fiona. It also introduces us to another protagonist, but I don't know want to spoil so I won't share... but right when you thought this story line couldn't get any more twisty, it deliversss!
If you were unhappy with the open-ended conclusion of Woman Last Seen and were desperate to know if Kai was dead or alive and if justice was ever served, this book is for you! If you've never read Woman Last Seen, this book can still serve as a stand-alone and be just as exciting!
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for allowing me to read an arc of this fabulous book! Look for it on shelves December 26, 2023!
