I went into this book I’m sure, because I felt the first novel wrapped up very satisfactorily. But Ms. Parks was able to mine a few more twists out of Kylie’s tale(s). Definitely worth reading if you liked “Woman Last Seen,” but it would be enjoyable on it’s own as well.
I think my entire perspective of this book was influenced by the fact that the plot heavily involved a lockdown due to COVID. I do not enjoy that plot line in the least bit. I think it plays into supporting something that was completely unconstitutional. I wish this was included in the synopsis, but it wasn't. The characters were a bit confusing and I think it's because I did not read the previous book. I didn't realize this was a sequel until the author's note at the very end of the book. I'm not sure why it's not advertised as being a sequel so that way I could have read the first one prior and maybe things would have made more sense. I would say this book was more of a mystery rather than thriller. There were a few twists but they were slightly predictable. Overall a decent read and if the COVID narrative doesn't bother you I presume you would enjoy this book a lot more than I did.
Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing, MIRA for a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Who is Kayleigh ? Where has she gone and why did she choose to marry two different men?
DCI Clements works against the clock to discover the identity of the missing women and the cause of her devious behavior. At the same time Stacie Jones is living a quiet life in a secluded villageable. how is it all connected?
Lots of mysterious, a bit chaotic, but enjoyable all the same #Twodeadwives #Adeleparks
This book unfortunately was not for me. First of all, I did not realize that it was a sequel. It wasn’t that hard to follow, regardless, but I still felt someone lost to the story. Secondly, there’s too much mentioned of Covid. I do not read books that have any mention of the pandemic, as I never want to hear or experience that again. I did enjoy the authors writing style, however.
This was a very interesting book with lots to think about. Many characters points of view but told in a way that was easy to read. Apparently there was a first book but I was able to catch on quick enough as this was my first book by the author. 4.5
Two husbands, one missing wife and a women who is living with her dad and has no memory all make for a very suspenseful story.
This sequel to a series by Adele Parks will have you on the edge of your seat.
Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for this ARC.

Didn't realize this was a sequel. Perhaps that's why I didn't like it. I dnf'd (did not finish) this eAdvanced Readers Copy at 28%
Two missing women, presumed dead, leaving two grieving husbands. Who had a motive to murder them, especially when it turns out the two women are really just one? While her best friend has stepped up to help with one of her families, the second husband is trying to prove his innocence as he swears he knew nothing about her other life. Two Dead Wives is a hot mess of twists and turns that will make the reader question who to even root for.
British psychological thriller involving a bigamist and a controlling father. See my full GoodReads review at https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5930573062.
I just finshed reading "Two Dead Wives" by Adele Parks. Thank you to Net Galley for providing me with a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
The title is what made me want to read this book. I was definately intrigued by how there could possible be two dead wives. The mystery of the title was a long time being answered. We met one wife who mysteriously disappears and it is found out she has two husbands and is a polygamist. Already, I am not feeling all that sorry for a woman who would be so deceitful. Then we find out that the other woman has a connection to the two husbands. Okay...more interesting. The the missing woman's two sons run away to find their mother because they don't believe she is really dead.
At the same time....another woman is living with her dad and she has not idea who she is....and there are alot of secrets surround her arrival is a small beach town...the same beach town that the two sons of the other woman are searching for their mother.....Coincedence? Well, you must read this book to find out.
I give credit to the author for creating a very interesting mystery because know that the two women are somehow connected...but how?
This is a good book. The characters are well developed and there is alot of unanswered questions. You are never sure if the characters are good or badd. There is alot of ambiguity in the story...which is a good thing.
My only complaint is that the beginning is a little slow. But if you keep reading...you will not be sorry.
A great book for lovers of this genre. My only advice is to read it at a good pace or you might find yourselves forgetting important information or facts.
Happy Reading
Oh man this was an interesting read and while I didn’t realize that this was a sequel it read really well as a standalone. This book was so twisty and kept me guessing throughout the book. This one picks up a couple months into the investigation into the disappearance, you get all the information on the main players which are her two husbands and her best friend motivations through the POV of DCI Clements at the start of the story. The story is told through the multiple POVs so you really get a good overview of what every character is thinking and what is going on with the investigation even though they have a prime suspect that they are about to start prosecuting even without a body. This was a fast read and they really packed the action in at the end of the book and this kept me guessing until about ¾ of the way through.
Thanks to Mira and Netgalley for the complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Although there was a previous book that set the stage for the characters in this book, I didn’t have a problem not knowing their history.
As you read the title you assume this is about 2 women, not a bigamist. When you think about bigamy it always seems to be a male who is involved. In this case it’s a woman who loves both these polar opposite men. Her life was filled with the best of both worlds until her best friend stepped in, in so many ways.
The ongoing resentment of Kylie by her long time friend Fiona finally came to a head when Fiona slept with a random wealthy, handsome married man, only to discovery it was Kylie’s husband! Her frustration with Kylie’s good fortune was satisfied on the edge of a cliff. Now it was Fiona’s turn to have it all when she moves in with husband #1and his boys but still sleeps with #2 on the side.
There was an on going parallel storyline about amnesic Stacie, her cancer and her dad who took care of her. Maybe I would have made an association as to how she figured into this book if I had read the first one in the series, but I took it all at face value. Stacie became interesting when she started remembering and Dad wasn’t so nice.
The entertaining factor of all these characters was despite how they were all, at some point, duped, shamed, abused, threatened, abducted and almost left for death, they all seem to forgive each other and understand how it all actually happened.
A little too 'happily ever after' but I was glad it all worked out.

Happy Monday and happy October🍂! I love author @adele_parks so whenever I see her books on @netgalley I quickly request them! I rarely even read synopsis’s or reviews on her books because I can always count on them being amazing.
So, when I started reading 𝑇𝑤𝑜 𝐷𝑒𝑎𝑑 𝑊𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑠 I was like “WHY DOES THIS SEEM SO FAMILIAR?” I went on Goodreads and realized this is actually a sequel of her previous book 𝐵𝑜𝑡ℎ 𝑜𝑓 𝑌𝑜𝑢. This was such a pleasant surprise and I was excited for the continuation!
My favorite parts of 𝑇𝑤𝑜 𝐷𝑒𝑎𝑑 𝑊𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑠 were the multiple POVs and narrations! The characters were all so complex and their emotions, thoughts and stories all immersed brilliantly making an addictive and twisty story! I also loved the police procedural aspect of the story and how the author used many atmospheric settings.
This can be read as a stand-alone but I think reading 𝐵𝑜𝑡ℎ 𝑜𝑓 𝑌𝑜𝑢 first is beneficial to understanding the full story. 100% recommend! Thank you @netgalley @_mira_books_ for the early copy!
SYNOPSIS: “ An overprotective father has lived as a recluse until his adult daughter – Stacie Jones – returns from Paris, in need of radical brain surgery. Peculiarly, he appears to almost welcome her illness, it does at least mean she is back under his roof – and his control.
In the meantime, the country is rapt with the scandalous case of murdered bigamist Kylie Gillingham. Her husbands, son and best friend are left dealing with a confused mix of emotions: grief, fear and triumph.
But none of them can piece their lives back together while suspicion of her death hangs over at least one of the husbands.
Despite the evidence, Kylie’s two sons won’t accept she is dead and gone. They set out to search for her and find themselves in the same town as Stacie and her father…”
QOTD: which book by @adele_parks is your favorite?
Although I hadn't read "Woman Last Seen" I didn't find that a handicap when reading this sequel. DC Clements and her young police partner, Tanner, are on the hunt for a missing woman who apparently has never officially existed. Unraveling the twists and turns of Kylie's life becomes an obsession for DC Clements who has a hunch that the husband they are trying to pin the murder on is in fact innocent. Without a body or a crime scene, it takes the police quite a while to piece together the story of Kylie's secret double life. Is she the devoted stepmother and wife of a groundskeeper or the glamorous pampered wife of an international multimillionaire? Or is she someone else? The twists and turns will keep readers engaged and forging ahead through late night readings to see if they've solved the mystery before DC Clements does. Highly recommended.
Two men, one wife. Nothing good can come of living a double life. When evidence that the bigamist wife was held captive and may have met her end in the high-end apartment where one of her husband lives, an investigation ensues. The twists may just give readers whiplash. Great for fans of domestic suspense.
Wow, Adele Parks sure does know how to write heart pounding thrillers! Two Dead Wives is the second novel in the series, but could be totally read as a standalone. Initially, I found the storyline a tad confusing, but then in true Adele Parks fashion it all makes sense in due time! I was on the hook from beginning and the lighting fast pacing had me flying through Two Dead Wives in record time. There are a handful of mystery/thriller authors that you know you can count on for a guaranteed great read and Adele Parks is definitely on my list!
Am edge of your seat thriller whwn a bigamist goes missing. A reas tjat upu don't want to put down because of the interesting plot twists. Highly entertaining.
Whoa Nelly this was a doozy….
Two wives missing but is it really two wives that are missing?
This is the continuation of the book “Last woman seen”, I’ll be honest o even read the first book but it was a while ago and the first 20% I was completely lost.
Was it worth it? If you want a head scratcher yes, if you get confused easily no
This is a sequel, so there are spoilers to book one below.
I admit that I didn't realize this was a sequel. I started reading it and the story was so familiar. I recognized names and the two husbands. I had to look it up to make sure I wasn't reading the same one even though I know it couldn't be. Luckily it all worked out for me and I remembered everything from the first book.
There are a lot of points of view in this book. The person we hear from the most is Stacie though. She's back home with her father after having cancer that almost killed her. She has no memories, but her father sits with her and they look through old photos while he tells her about her life. He talks about how she almost got married but wanted more and left for Paris. He wanted her with him, so he seems pretty happy with the covid lockdown. They spend months together with no one else.
The rest of the book covers the aftermath from book one. Kylie is presumed dead and Daan was arrested for it. Fiona had moved in with Mark and the boys. The older son still hated her and believed she was dead. But the youngest believed that he would feel it if she was dead. After Daan contacts them, the boys actually start looking for answers. We gets points of view from both husbands, Oli, Fiona, and the detective. I'm probably forgetting someone.
The book has good pacing and was hard to put down at times. I thought it was a good follow up to a story that never really had a conclusion.
I gave this book 4 stars.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for my earc.
Thanks to @harlequinbooks and @netgalley for this ARC!

Here is my review ⬇️⬇️⬇️
I was so excited to read this new Adele Parks book and I was a bit disappointed ☹️ The book takes place in COVID time and she mentions the pandemic often in her story! I'm trying to forget 2020 and COVID times so that was a big no no for me.
The first 60% was pretty boring and didn't have a lot going on. After the 60%, it started to get more interesting.
Overall, it was an average book for me!
