Nicole Trope did not disappoint again! I loved this book and read it in one sitting. I had to know what happened and there were some great twists. I would definitely recommend this book.
I low key loved this drama filled with unreliable narrators who all have a motive. While I was reading this, I couldn’t help but feel like this was a guilty pleasure read.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for gifting me a digital ARC of this book by Nicole Trope that sat on my TBR shelf for way too long! All opinions expressed in this review are my own - 4 twisty stars!
A hit-and-run accident leaves a man in the hospital in a coma. It happened on a rainy night and the police have not been able to find the car that hit him. But there are suspects, including his wife. What really happened?
Go into this one as blind as possible because nothing is as it seems! Just who is the victim and who are the other women involved? We get multiple POV to tell this story, and your allegiances will change as you read. Nicole Trope always writes a well-crafted, domestic suspense story and this one is no exception. I loved the short chapters that kept me glued to the twisty end!
Just wow! I have been hearing about Nicole Trope for a long time, but this is my first read. I really enjoyed this book. The twists and turns and characters involved come together in a shocking way. Once the ball gets rolling, it doesn't stop. The last piece is totally shocking!
Enjoyed this one. The multiple narrator slowly give more context to what may have happened to Damon and a good twist at the end.
There was a lot of POVs to follow in this novel. Each chapter switched to a different woman entangled with Damon. It was hard to remember who was who so that made the thriller less enjoyable.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Wow! This book was a wild ride of twists and turns and suspense. Loved this book and could not put it down. I read the summary and knew I had to read it and I was not disappointed!
A quick, easy read that revolves around an unfaithful husband, his wife and a number of his mistresses; who should really know better.
I loved how this book unfolded; especially with the accident being reported and no one really knowing what happened. As the story develops this becomes clear but I felt the need to keep reading as I needed to know who did what! There is 3 POV and I love the added fourth that remains a mystery until the end. Left me on the edge of my seat for that one!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advance copy of The Truth About the Accident by Nicole Trope. Holy cow - buckle up as this is one wild ride! You can't turn the pages fast enough to find out what is going to happen next. I absolutely LOVED this book! It's a quick, easy read that will keep you guessing until the very last page. Do yourself a big favor and read this ASAP!
Wow I was not disappointed at all. My husband is in hospital after being hit by a car and I am happy about it! What the? I didn't know where the plot was heading and that made me feel like I could not stop reading until I found out. The twists threw me around the bend over and over.
Another author I enjoy reading!!! This was a great book to read, exciting & fast paced. I was hooked from the beginning!!!
I enjoy Nicole Trope's domestic mystery-dramas in Australian settings. There are clear thematic similarities between each of her books that I've read, and it's clear that she has great skill in exploring the psyches of middle-class women facing some sort of personal or external crisis or trauma. Most readers will recognise parallels between experiences in their own lives and those of Trope's characters, although hopefully without the dramatic repercussions her protagonists often endure! While we can identify with many of the issues her characters deal with, whether that be dissatisfaction with life choices, relationship conflicts or the demands of parenting, her high-octane plots give us the opportunity to contemplate "What would I do?" as the character(s) face situations of moral ambiguity and life-changing decisions.
A brilliant book full of twists and turns that keeps you hooked from the very first page. Very hard to put down once you start.
Billed as a thriller, it was really. More of a family mystery saga. That being said it was well written and I did enjoy it, trying to work out what was going on. Full of the usual secrets and lies, not that original though.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of this e-arc.
This book was really well written and I enjoyed the overall story and plot line. I was immersed in the book the full time!
This book had me gripped from the beginning. It opens with three different women phoning the emergency services to report a hit and run accident with Damon being the victim. He is left seriously ill in hospital with his wife Marla by his bedside. We soon realise that their marriage was far from perfect as he had had many affairs and Marla had been going to finally leave him. Sonya is a therapist and has got rather close to one of her patients and wonders why he hasn’t turned up for his appointment. Anthea was hoping her baby’s father would turn up for her ultrasound as she knows he was unhappy about the pregnancy. All of these women were connected to Damon and tell the story from their points of view. This book was so addictive that I couldn’t put it down. So many secrets and lies are revealed as the story unravels with many surprises. An excellent read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for this arc. I really did not enjoy this story, it was hard to get into.
One of her best ones yet!! Thank you for the opportunity to read this fast paced book I couldn't put it down!
This was originally billed under the mystery and thriller genre but then was re-categorised as a family drama which in my opinion was the right thing to do. Had I read this expecting a thriller I would have been terribly disappointed. As it was I found the story enjoyable if a bit slow paced. Certainly the author writes a great psychological thriller and will, I fervently hope, continue to do so in the future.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! No spoilers. Beyond amazing I enjoyed this book so very much. The characters and storyline were fantastic. The ending I did not see coming Could not put down nor did I want to. Truly Amazing and appreciated the whole story. This is going to be a must read for many many readers. Maybe even a book club pick.
