Thank you netgalley and publishers for giving me an ARC!! I LOVED the first few pages and now each caller had different perspectives of seeing the same thing. It felt as if I was watching a show ( great job ) I love a book that has each chapter changing a characters perspective over time and It keeps me interested in the book. The characters were not very likable to me, especially Damon. The women in the book are not much better with the way they throw themselves at him, and accept what he is doing to them. The desperation of the women makes reading not as enjoyable for me at times. I didn’t like the twist at the end as much and felt it was sorta predictable.
This was the first book I’ve read from Nicole Trope and I definitely enjoyed the read. I liked how we were given the different POVs and especially the intrigue that the mystery POV provided. Damon was a very well written character in the sense that I absolutely hated him. Each woman in his life was also well written because I couldn’t decide who I felt worse for.
I do think is became very redundant- it is very obvious Damon is cheating on his wife with multiple women, it’s part of the entire plot, but it was mentioned so many times that it just felt unnecessary.
Overall I think it was a good book and an entertaining read.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This one was a page turner. The story is told from 4 POVs: Marla, Sonya, Athena, and a mystery person. I kept trying to figure out who the mystery person was, but couldn't figure it out until the reveal. That added a nice twist to the story. This book is full of revenge, affairs, and secrets. This one kept me guessing all the way until the end and the ending was great! Another 5 star read for me!
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.
It was a Quick and enjoyable read. I liked that it was 3 pov. I liked the revenge aspect. And I liked the ending.
Thank you to netgalley for letting me read this e arc in exchange for an honest opinion
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. The author did a wonderful job using four different points of view to create a singular storyline that keeps you guessing up until the very end. I will admit that I had an idea of where this was going, but the author took that basic concept and raised it to another level that I didn't see coming. The book is fast-paced and I didn't want to put it down until it was finished.
I'm giving this book 3 stars since the publisher reached out while I was reading it and changed it to "women's fiction" rather than a "thriller" I enjoy Nicole Trope's books and although it wasn't my favorite, it was still a good read. There aren't any surprises or twists but the different POVs worked well. I enjoyed the "unknown" POV and I really did want to know what happened, The conclusion was ok- again- I went into it thinking it was something else. But overall, I'd recommend it in this new genre.
I have read and loved other Nicole Trope books but this book was just not it for me. It’s very hard for me to stay interested in books that barely have any dialogue at all.
I was given this book by NetGalley for an honest review-
What a page turner- a captivating read told by three women - the wife, the psychiatrist, the lover.
The wife has always taken care of the house and herself but it is never enough.- there always seems to be another woman. She decides to take control of her husbands situation . And then her husband is hit by a car. The police investigate the women- did one of them hit him? Will he live? You will want to grab this book!
3.5/5
I loved the revenge aspect of the book.
Between Marla, Sonya, and Athena, I didn’t know who to feel bad for. The added “mystery” person was a good twist as well. The ending was really good too.
A quick and easy read to get lost in!
Awesome. Hooked from the beginning. This is my 2nd book from the author but now i have to go back and read them all. Really good storyline, characters, all of it . Definitely recommend. Thank you NetGalley for this ARC
Written in multiple POV's, this book tells the story of a wealthy man who is married and has multiple lovers.
He is involved in a hit-and-run, and is in a coma. The police question his wife, whose car was at the intersection, as well as his lovers who just happened to be at the same place.
Which one of them ran him down and fled the scene?
I wish I could say I loved this book!!! I have read 4 of Nicole's books and awarded 5 stars for the suspense and the twists.
This book fell flat, in my opinion.
Maybe it was the desperation of 40-ish women thinking that a man will change his ways? Or that they actually believed his sweet nothings? Ugh, rolling my eyes.
Sorry, I cannot give more than 2 stars to this offering, and I hope Nicole's next book will be a 5 star.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an HONEST personal opinion. I am aware that other readers have loved this book.
This is my first book by this author. It’s a great story with well developed characters. It’s the perfect wife gets revenge on her cheating husband book. Finally a book with the wife getting revenge in a fitting manner. It has so many twists and a completely unexpected ending. I read this book in one evening it was impossible to put down.
While I normally love anything by the talented Nicole Trope, this is the first book I struggled getting in to. I was over 50% of the way through before I became interested. I will say this, it does pick up and the ending is unexpected! I also like the way the author tells the story through the perspectives of 3 different women. I look forward to reading more from Nicole Trope!
Thank you for allowing me an ARC of this book.
I have read from Thorpe before but this just didn't feel like the same author.
Although well written I just didn't get that gripped moment.
First I want to apologize in advance for any misspelled words, because English isn't my first language.
This is my first time on netgalley, reading an arc book and my first time this author.
I really liked this book, it was so captivating that I couldn't put it down. When I thought I knew something it was wrong, but that's what made me want to read more.
The only thing I think that would make this book perfect, is that we should've the police perspective as well, and more details about the investigation, because when the women talk, is was always about their feelings on that sneaky bastard.
But I liked it a lot and rated 3,5☆. And now I'm gonna read the other titles from the author .
I jump up and down with joy when I am lucky enough to be pre approved for a Nicole Trope and this one was as good as all her others! It starts with multiple calls to the police and emergency services to report a hit and run - but due to torrential rain no one can really say much. Told from the POV of the victims wife, his therapist and his mistress - we are spun around into a web of lies, revenge, betrayal and just dastardly behaviour!
Well written and clever as always!
What a crazy ride! Rich man involved in a hit and run. His wife figuring out his double life. The other women thinking they were the only one. They all have a reason for being a suspect, but who did it? How many people did this man affect? This was a great read. This was my first read from Nicole Trope but I definitely want to read more. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is I personally struggled reading it because the chapters go back and forth between characters. But all in all it was a great book!
This was an interesting book. I kept trying to guess who had hit Damon with their car. Never saw this coming. I was quite surprised. It’s a cleverly written book that I enjoyed. voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through Net Galley.
I love Nicole Trope and always look forward to reading her books, but this one was a miss for me. The writing felt off, like it wasn't even written by her at all. Trope is known for her jaw dropping twists, but there wasn't a single one in this book. I would definitely not classify this as a thriller because it certainly was not! More like a Lifetime drama. The story was told from four different POVs: Marla, Sonya, Athena and a mystery character who is revealed at the end. The mystery character was a surprise, but the ending was very anti-climactic. The characters were not very likeable. A little insufferable with their hero worship and stupidity over Damon the narcissistic weasel. This made the story drag for me. I didn't want to constantly hear about their feelings. I wanted more twists and turns. With all that being said, it was still a fast read and kept me guessing. I was bored at times, but I desperately needed to know the truth about the accident. (See what I did there?!)
Thank you to the author, Bookouture and NetGalley for allowing me digital access in exchange for my honest review!
Another fabulous read from Nicole Trope I love all of her books.
This was fast paced thriller which has me hooked. It is told from three different perspectives which keeps you on the edge of your seat. A hit-and-run accident leaves Damon Kennedy in the hospital and his wife, Marla by his bedside. Marla knows that Damon has betrayed her through out their marriage. Who hit Damon and how far will they go to get what they want.
Highly recommend this to everyone who loves a fantastic thriller with so many twists and turns.
