Another great one from Brittany Sahin. I really enjoyed this faster paced romantic suspense. but I usually enjoy all of Brittneys books
I don't usually reach for mafia / romantic suspense, but I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I had never read this author before. This is the first book of the Costa Brothers series, who are part of the Italian mafia in New York City. Maria and Enzo are family friends and although they are drawn to each other, Enzo has always pushed his attraction to Maria aside to fulfill his promise to her father to always keep an eye out for her. I felt like the suspenseful parts of this book were interesting, however, I felt like there were sections that did seem to lose my interest. I was glad that I finished the book, and I would consider reading book 2 in this series, but I am not in a rush to get to it. If you are a fan of mafia or romantic suspense, or are new the the genre, I would recommend this book.
Oh my word, how did I miss reviewing this one?!
Maria is a stubborn, divorced single mom and she knows the man one she got her on dream kiss from is off limits, even now. Enzo still views her as the one he must protect, he has no room for love, but he can't ignore that something pulls them together. His desire to be in her life pulls her into the danger in his life and he must find a way to end the war, protect her, and maybe, find a way to let love in.
This one had intense action, great world building, incredible character development, and a pile of spice! Enzo is such an alpha hero. Let Me Love You introduces us to a new cast of characters, families, and love interests. I've been behind on romance reads, but this one sucked me in and was an instant five star read for me.
Devoured this book. Brittney Sahin really knows how to tell a story and the first book in the Costa Family series is about Maria and Enzo. A slowburn love story that keeps you completely engaged and looking forward to the next up in the series.
Maria has loved Enzo since she was young, he always included her in whatever the family was doing, even though she was many years younger. Enzo always knew he loved Maria but that love could never be so he did what was right and always kept her safe as he wished he could have done for his twin sister Bianca.
Staying away from Maria was never going to be on the cards for Enzo so he made a promise to her parents that he would always look out for her and that didn't include falling in love with her. But when it comes to love, nothing can prepare you for how much you will forgo to keep promises and shield your heart, until you can't any more and you finally have to give in. Can Enzo finally find happiness while keeping Maria safe?
Thanks to Netgally and Montlake for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Oh my gosh!! I read this in a day! Brittney, this book is, wow!
Tropes:
Mafia
Age gap
Forced proximity
Flawed hero
Former military
Alessandro knew he had to find a way to protect the mafia princess but could he really go through with it? Alessandro meets Callie at an auction, having no idea who she was until he got a call from the man he was supposed to be meeting. Knowing someone a favor in his line of work is never good but how can he not repay a debt. Can he marry someone, or course but not for love, love is something he will never give into again.
Callie could not believe what her father is requiring her to do, she has to marry and provide him a heir even though she has no intentions of doing so but her hand is being forced.
Alessandro finds himself offering himself as her husband to not only protect her but to get the ultimate revenge for his family. Marry her and get her somewhere safe and then seek vengeance for his family. They can marry and convince her father and his body guards that they are a couple, can’t they? They keep their distance but the chemistry between Callie and Alessandro is off the charts and Alessandro fought the pull as much as he could but now, no more.
Another incredible book by Brittney Sahin!
This was a first read by this author and I really liked the premise. But absolutely struggled with the "we can't be together because you deserve someone better". I loved how devoted and loyal Enzo was to Maria, but he just wasn't being fair to her. Maria made her feelings clear and was going to start her path of moving on. But he's also there trying to stop things...no thank you, sir. Eventually he pulls his head out of you know where, but I just wished he did it a lot sooner.
It did drag a little bit for me in the middle. Overall, wasn't too bad, I'd read from this author again.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and author for the copy of this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
A good slow burn, mafia romance!
I can say that this is a slow burn mafia romance and while I do love those I didn't typically love this. I've had this book for a while and I've had to push myself to get through to finish it. I don't like having to force myself to read books when I typically read just because I enjoy it. I don't think the authors style is fit for me but maybe others will enjoy it.
This book was amazing and I wasn't able to put it down once I started reading it. The chemistry between these two was amazing that you can't help but fall in love with these two. Add this book to your TBR and you won't be disappointed.
Let Me Love You follows the story from Until You Can't. I have a horrible time remembering books, so even though I read the previous book, I only recalled it in bits and pieces while reading; it most certainly can be read as a standalone. Maria impressed me with her ability to transform from doting mother of a toddler to tough-as-nails slayer of Enzo's demons. The couple certainly had chemistry, and the snippets of Enzo with Chiara were so sweet. The amount of suspense was on point with so many twists and turns. I love when a story takes me on such a ride that I can't figure out the end!
DNF at 52% I read on both audio and ebook and I just couldn't finish. The characters just weren't for me. They grated my nerves so bad. Maybe it just wasn't the book for me right now. 🤷🏼♀️ These were some of the whiniest characters I've ever read.
I really liked this story, a lot more than I expected if I'm honest. I had never read anything by this author before and this book made me want to go back and read the rest of her work. It does look like it's a standalone, but it is connected to her mafia books so there are crossover characters.
The main characters in this book, Enzo and Maria, are so cute. Once Enzo gives a hint of his feelings, Maria is right there, not letting him hide them anymore. I love when the FMC is just as crazy as the MMC. Parts of the storyline are predictable, but there are twists and surprises along the way. I look forward to reading more from the author.
Review:
This was a good love story. Maria has loved Enzo for a long as she could remember. Enzo has buried his feelings for Maria because of things that he has done in his past and doesn’t think that he deserves her.
I loved how Maria was willing to fight for Enzo and to stand by him once everything comes out. She was so strong and to see how Enzo was able to learn how to deal with his loses and feelings of things he’s done.
Narration was good.
This is my first book from Brittney and I really liked it! This is a slow-burn magic romance romance between two people who have been in love with each other for years.
Enzo is very protective of Maria but doesn’t feel worthy. Maria has loved him forever but also has a past loaded with issues.
There is suspense in this book which I loved and felt like it was perfectly balanced with the romance and the spice.
I really liked it.
Maria and Enzo are everything you could possibly imagine! The scars of the past are finally healed and no longer matter when these two finally find their happily ever after. The wait for this book was absolutely worth it!
A massive thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review!! I really enjoyed this book; definitely something I will tell my friends about!
Finally Maria and Enzo's story. Fast paced and a page turner. Loved the dynamics between the two main characters. And I was happy with the ending. Pretty much love anything written by Brittney Sahin.
Absolutely love Brittany Shaheen and her writing. I’ve read her other books and this one was very similar and that it didn’t disappoint. I highly recommend reading this book, especially if you love romances with a little bit of steam and spice! 4 1/2 stars!
While I usually enjoy Sahin's books this one was just not for me. I didn't really like either of the main characters and that's unfortunate since they are on every page. I just didn't get hooked like I have with other of her books. I do hope other people like it but this one just wasn't for me. 2.5 stars
I went into this book not realizing this is actually a continuation of another book, and I could tell because it felt very much like I was dumped into the middle of the story. So if you didn't realize this, go and read 'Until You Can't,' which is the first part of Maria and Enzo's love story. I was confused why things began happening so fast between the love interests in the beginning, however I did finish the book nonetheless, and it was pretty good on its own. About half way through was when I really started getting into the story. The second half did not disappoint. The romance itself is a pretty slow burn throughout the novel, while still sprinkling in really hot intense spicy scenes in there. The 2nd plot of the novel revolves around the unsolved murder of Enzo's twin and I really like how the author intertwined these two plot lines. The suspense was intense, the chemistry between Maria and Enzo was intense and it drove the story forward in a way that keeps the reader intrigued. I definitely want to go back and read book 1 because there were a lot of things I needed the backstory on. I also wouldn't mind reading the rest of Brittney's works! She's an excellent writer. Thanks for sharing this arc with me! I found a new author to love and she's on KU too!!
