Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC! I was struggling to rate this one after loving the authors previous novel. This one didn't hit the mark for me, but I did enjoy the ending. I got a little bored in the middle. I would still recommend this to anyone who enjoys thrillers.

This story of three sisters who grew up in a strict, abusive household, cleaving to each other for survival, only to get separated when their parents are murdered, is an original page turner.

Thank you Netgalley for an early copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

I am going back and forth on rating this one... I really liked it but I don't think I LOVED it (like I did with Kate Alice Marshall's other adult novel). This was a good story because everyone (and I mean everyone) was keeping secrets and I love unreliable narrators, but I did find myself getting a little bored about 70 percent in. I even went a read a couple other books and then circled back to it. The ending was solid, and I was second guessing everything throughout the story. I enjoyed the pacing and the writing, and I would recommend. It just didn't have that WOW factor, but that is okay. It still was a very good book.

When Emma, Juliette and Daphne were kids, their parents were murdered. The police tried to blame Emma for the murders but there wasn’t enough evidence. She did everything she could to protect her sisters from suspicion but the three girls became estranged and life went on. Now Emma is back in town with her husband Nathan, renovating the house they grew up in, that her parents were murdered in. As Emma starts to ask questions about that night, about the murder, the truth is unraveling and dangerous secrets come to light. Who really killed her parents? And will anyone else die trying to find out? A great twisty thriller that was unputdownable! Thank you NetGalley for the digital copy.

Holy crap, this book was so freaking good. I stayed up all night to read it, which means I have a book hang over today and I’m way too tired to do anything but dwell on how amazing this book was. Got to say, I hated the husband, and Daphne was giving me some Misery vibes…. But I loved all of it. This has been my most favorite book so far this year!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have loved Kate Alice Marshall’s books since I read The Rules For Vanishing. So now I will read whatever books of hers that I can find.
She really wraps you up and immerses you in the story.

Emma returns to the house and the town where her parents were murdered when she and her two sisters, Juliette and Daphne, were teenagers. Emma was suspected of the murder by the police and when she returns as an adult, the suspicion remains.

What I loved:
-The mystery of Emma's parents' murders, and the fact that I was questioning the whole time who actually did it.
-Learning the details from multiple points of view and in different time periods.
-The story was interesting enough that I wanted to keep reading to find out what really happened.

What I didn't love:
-The book was slow moving for a long time, and then suddenly the mystery came together and there was a lot happening at the end. It felt a bit disjointed.
-I didn't really connect with any of the characters. None of the sisters were very sympathetic, and Emma's husband had red flags from the beginning. The parents were also awful people.

I enjoyed this author's first book more, and felt it was a much more engaging story.

If you love psychological thrillers, this book is for you!! There’s so many different plot twists, you’ll find yourself coming up with different theories. Definitely one of the best books I’ve read this year, I loved it!

This book is told from an ER nurse point of view. It starts off with a prologue and then continues with her treating an icu patient named Caitlin who jumped off a bridge.

Theres 2 stories in this book. The first one being the mystery of what happened to Caitlin and the second one with a killer going around targeting women.

Kate never disappoints! I loved this book just like all her others. Fast paced, awesome story, the twists & turns got me breaking my neck. She has an awesome way of making the story so atmospheric like you living in the book, it's creepy & eerie.
Thank you so much

Emma and her husband are forced to move back into her childhood home after they lose the house they were in the process of buying and Emma discovers she is pregnant. The catch? Her parents were murdered in this house and the locals— they think Emma did it.

When Emma returns home, so do her two sisters and soon after, all of the secrets they carry begin to come out. Will moving home prove to be the biggest mistake or the twist of fate they all needed?

I liked this one. I usually enjoy any kind of psychological thriller and I also like dual POV as well. I thought the flashbacks were necessary to the story moving forward and I liked hearing the viewpoints of all of the sisters. It gave the story layers. I think there were some predictable parts which is why I am rating this closer to 3.75 stars. All in all though, a solid thriller!

I was very excited to see I got approved for Kate Alice Marshall's newest novel after loving What Lies in the Woods by her. Sadly it didn't live up to what I was hoping it'd be. It really just felt all over the place. With the story following 3 sisters and their perspectives on the death of their parents years ago, the transitions didn't feel smooth which made my attention span almost nonexistent. I was never fully engaged in it, so it felt like a way longer book than it actually was.

No One Can Know is an adult mystery/thriller that revolves around 3 sisters, the murder of their parents nearly 15 years ago, and the secrets they all are keeping about that night. In the present, Emma has just moved back into their family home, newly pregnant, with her husband. When her sisters follow her home, the secrets they've been keeping don't stay hidden for long.

I worship at the altar that is Kate Alice Marshall. It's hard to explain what's so amazing about her books, but I have read both her adult and YA books, and there's just something about the way she writes. Whether it's a thriller mystery or a paranormal horror, they're all deeply disturbing and incredibly thoughtful. I loved No One Can Know, a story that revolves mostly around three sisters, their bonds, and the things they'd do to protect each other. I love a story that's messy and confusing, and KAM certainly delivers with this one.

I really liked the first 80% of this book but I found that the end seemed a bit messy. It almost felt like the author wrote a bunch of different ways to solve the puzzle and then decided to use them all. When the story finally came to a close, I still wasn't sure I understood who the murderer actually was.

I'm always skeptical when I'm reading thrillers by a new-to-me author, and when I picked up her previous release, 'What Lies In the Woods,' I was so pleasantly surprised. Because of that, I jumped at the chance to review "No One Can Know,' and I was not disappointed.

I'm a sucker for both dual timelines and multiple perspectives, and this delivered both. The switching perspectives between Emma, Daphne, and Juliette (JJ) kept things interesting, keeping you wondering who, if anyone, is a reliable narrator. If you love unlikable but complex characters, small town drama, and endless uncertainty, you'll love 'No One Can Know.'

This thriller had me enthralled throughout and I was dying to know who was lying and who did what. The story of three sister whose parents were murdered when they were teenagers and how the twin they lived in believed one of the sisters did it. One sister being forced to move home and the whole past comes back with a force to haunt them. This multiple POV book is told in the present with flash backs to the past to tell this tale. I was on the edge of my seat with this one and was shocked with the final few chapters!

Juliette, Emma, and Daphne have been haunted for fourteen years by their parents murder and the secrets surrounding it. Everyone suspected Emma, now newly pregnant and moving back to the scene of the crime due to her husbands inability to hold down a job and a deal on their own house falling through. Daphne and Juliette, worried about what Emma might find out, come back home too to keep their secrets buried.

This was meh for me. I didn’t like how Emma turned into what her mother wanted her to be after death, and Nathan always seemed like a scumbag. Juliette and Daphne irked me to no end. Juliette for just always having that superiority complex and Daphne for being so shifty all the time. The only one I liked was the goldendoodle who had about two seconds of screen time. The mystery was interesting though

Prospective readers should take this title as far as possible: the characters can't know, and neither can you...for a long time. The good news is that the journey is still mostly pleasurable if a bit drawn out at times.

Emma, Juliette (aka JJ), and Daphne are sisters who have really challenging parents, to put it mildly, and so when their parents are murdered, each one of them is shaken but also apparently relieved. Readers will get enough insight into some of their experiences to find this otherwise terrible thought pretty understandable. What's striking about their situation is that there are many assumptions about what happened but no clear answers. Each one of the girls seems a likely suspect, but one stands out among the rest: Emma, who through unfortunate circumstances, must return with her husband and kid on the way to the hellhole where she was raised and last saw her parents' dead bodies. When Emma returns, her sisters resurface, more drama ensues, and folks finally have to start sharing some more info.

I did enjoy this read, but getting to the answers takes longer than I'd have liked. With more developed characters, this may not have been so noticeable, but there are some challenges on that front, too. This is a solid mystery/thriller overall, and I'm looking forward to more from this author.

The twists and turns got me with this one. I went into this without knowing the plot so when I saw the house was different then what she said it caught me off guard. For me personally I love family so it was hard seeing these sisters and their fractured relationships but I loved it all.

Wow, I could not put this book down. I HAD to know what actually happened. There are so many different conflicting narratives, with all the characters thinking they kinda knew what happened. The different POVs as well as switching from past to present helps the reader attempt to figure out what happened that murderous night. Although I flew through the book, I did find the ending a bit rushed. There was this huge build up through the book to have it all be over in just a few pages. However, the writing was so intriguing and just really well done. So many twists and turns which made it a very enjoyable read. This book will be featured on my Instagram @julesreadsalot on Sept. 21, 2023.
