In the second installment in the ‘Aged like fine Wine’ series by Liz Alden, we follow Sarah and Chris.

Sarah followed her daughter to Germany, who’s doing a semester abroad in Munich. She rented a small place in Baden Baden, but the apartment turns out horrible and in a small stroke of luck, she meets Chris who offers her a room to rent in his house.
Chris is a rockstar and working on his new songs after his one big hit. He’s stuck and feels like writer's block has him in its chokehold.

I didn’t feel a lot of chemistry between Sarah and Chris. A main factor for this may be that I didn’t like Sarah at all, I can’t even pinpoint why, but she got on my nerves very fast and I couldn’t stand her. Especially how she acted around her daughter. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Chris as well, but with him I could deal with him more than I could deal with Sarah.

Just like the first book, this one is short and light. I’m looking forward to the next books and seeing how Jade’s and Emma’s stories will work out.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for granting me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.

I had a really fun time with this book, older people deserve love too. Chris and Sara were cute and I loved the tension between them. The friendship group is amazing and I love how they all support each other. The ending was really good and I need bonus content of them.

I hope there is a book about Emma and her teacher because that would be a lot of fun.

I received an arc through netgalley.

Vegan yoga teacher with a German rock star!

Yoga teacher Sara Wallace thought she had done everything right when she rented a place in Baden-Baden and not the mushroom covered apartment. But when another customer at the café offers to let her stay at his house Sara has to think about it even though she’s desperate.

Chris Rächer was surprised he offered Sara a place to stay but maybe she would help him get over his writer’s block because Sara had no idea that Chris was a rock star!

I enjoyed Riesling with My Roommate even though opposites attract she pairs up an older vegan yoga teacher from Texas with a younger German rock star that just works for me so go ahead and put it on your list to read!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Riesling with My Roommate is the second book in the standalone series. Chris is a rock star and Sara is a single mom. I like the buildup to their relationship and their communication about their concerns. This series is one to check out.

A big thank you to Liz Alden, Victory Editing, and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for my honest opinion. Riesling with My Roommate comes out June 20, 2023!

After deciding to move to Germany to be close to her daughter and three friends that moved to different parts of Europe, Sara is both nervous and excited. Both of those emotions turn into devastated once she gets to her rental and finds that it didn't exactly look like the online pictures (mushrooms shouldn't grow inside unless you do it on purpose). While telling her friends in a cafe, she is offered a place to stay by Chris, a stranger that offers her too good of a deal to pass up. After moving in with him they develop an easy routine and if there is sexual tension it doesn't matter because Sara is going to leave in a couple of months and Chris is keeping his famous punk star identity from Sara. Will the two be able to move past everything they don't have in common and find out that despite of that they are compatible.

Riesling with My Roommate is a romantic and fun roommates-to-lovers romance. Sara was warm and lovely, plus I loved seeing her come into her own while being with Chris. I think that Chris went through a lot of character development to get him to the ending of the book. I l0ved that he quit smoking for her. It was more of a slow-burn romance so watching their relationship develop was fun and honestly hot. I loved seeing Tess and the other girls from Liz's previous book and can't wait to read their stories. If you are looking for a quick, romantic and steamy novel Riesling with My Roommate is the book for you.

Whew, the smut is WILD (Unconventional position, but it's a given considering she's super flexible) Also, this is the first time I've heard of a barbell, so it was weird at first and then all I can think about is how it would feel - 🤐

Okay, so I was expecting it to be novella length, but it was still a quick read. The tension between Chris and Sara is real, and I like the reverse age gap (he's thirty-eight & she's forty-three) - albeit not as much as Tess & Luc (eleven years!)

I also liked how the characters dealt with their issues 🫶🏻 And although the grand gesture at the end did feel a bit outré, I know how hopelessly in love Chris is + I did appreciate him taking that step (+ bonus scene!) 🤌🏻

"The Wine Club" is probably the only friendship group I want to be a part of. Also, I was hoping to see Luc 😭 but I'm glad him and Tessa are going strong. Excited for Emma & Santo!

𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁: Cozy read that feels like you're in a hot tub time to time, best served with a glass of Riesling 🪄

Sara has been a single mom for years, and this time in Europe should be a real adventure for her. Her daughter is studying in Germany, and Sara's best friends are also in Europe. But her adventure starts to go sour really quickly after she arrives in Baden Baden. She meets a man who offers her a place to stay, and she accepts his offer. She just has no idea that he is a rock star who is struggling to write new songs. The two of them try to leave each other alone like roommates who don't know each other, but they can't help some flirting. Sara's friends encourage her to go for a fling with Chris, but soon feelings are involved. There were lots of very funny moments in this story, and Sara and Chris have pretty great chemistry through the slow burn.

Liz Alden takes you through on a move of a lifetime for a widow starting a new life for herself, and the whole time you are rooting for her. There is forced proximity with polar opposite main characters, and a mothers love for her adult child and wanting to do right in her eyes. While this book is for a mature audience, and I typically am reviewing YA and children's books, it was too good to not read.

OH MY GOSH!! I absolutely LOVED this book so much!! Riesling with My Roommate is book two in the "Aged Like Fine Wine" series. It has your roommate-friends-lovers trope, celebrity trope, opposites attract trope, forced proximity, strong friendships and it is filled with tension, romance, humor and plenty of spice! Once I started reading I could not stop and finished it in a day. This is my first read by Liz Alden and it will not be my last. Seriously, this book lacked nothing in my opinion!💜💜💜💜💜

Sara is a middle aged widow who teaches yoga and is a vegan. She has recently moved to Germany in order to be closer to her daughter who is studying abroad. Her three close friends all move to Europe for a year. The apartment that Sara is supposed to move into turns out to be a disaster! Can you even imagine seeing mushrooms growing on the walls!?! While FaceTiming with her friends, Chris hears Sara talking to them about her terrible situation and he offers her a room to stay in his house. What Sara does not know is that Chris is a famous rockstar celebrity!

Overall, it was a fun, sweet and spicy read and I cannot wait to read more of this series! I highly recommend this book and it deserves all the stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was so good! I loved the romantic tension, build up, and coming together. To me, Chris and Sara felt more “right” than Tessa and Luc in book 1. Just great chemistry! I enjoyed the dynamic of yogi vs rock star, and how those two lives blend together. All in all, this was just such a fun read. Even better than the first in the series. I can’t wait for the next! I definitely would recommend this to someone looking for a steamy romance with a celebrity trope, along with a bit of forced proximity and opposites attract.

I've never read a Liz Alden book but after reading this I am considering exploring her other works. I enjoyed this a lot. the romance was just perfect with the plot. The characters' interactions were fun. Good romance novel overall.

This book reminds of the TV show ‘Sex and the City’ and it was so good. I’m glad that Sara finally figured out that she couldn’t live without Chris and that she could make both of their lives work together.

Just fine.

Sara is a Mom with a capital M, an American in Germany she moves in with a complete, albeit sexy, stranger after meeting him in a Cafe.

Chris is a rock musician living the quiet life in a huge Black Forest villa while trying to write songs.

**spoilers**
They tiptoe around each other for a lot of the book until the spice hits, and to the authors credit when the spice hits it’s HOT but unfortunately for me the spice couldn’t save this.

Sara is so much of a “mom” the second hand embarrassment bordered on painful. I think the intention of the narrative was for her to realize that she wasn’t a boring uncool mom but instead she fusses that there aren’t enough vegetables in the fridge or that her ADULT daughter ate a bit too much of an edible. I hoped she would learn to relax and enjoy life but alas no.

I suspect I’m not really the ideal audience for this book which is perhaps why it didn’t do it for me and why I’m giving it 3 stars instead of a lower rating.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publishers for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This series of novellas continues to be so cozy, fun and sexy!

-Mature single mom
-Forced Proximity
-Rock star
-Strong female friendships
-Very flexible yoga teacher!

We are back with book 2 and this time it's all about SARA! The widowed single mom and yoga/vegan who moved to Germany to be close to her daughter who is there to attend college. But when her living arrangements turn out to be her worst nightmare a chance encounter with a handsome stranger in a cafe provides her with a once in a lifetime opportunity to stay in a sprawling mansion for the duration of her stay. Little does she know that her new roommate is actually a SUPER FAMOUS ROCKSTAR!

This book was very sweet but also CHRIS was just really hot! I loved how sweet and considerate he was with Sara and how their relationship evolved organically over time despite their differences. I also loved how the book showcases what moms go through sometimes when their children leave the nest, and they now have to focus on themselves after not making that a priority for a long time. This series really explores so many different deeper themes and it's not just surface level romance like you see sometimes when it comes to novellas. I am really enjoying each individual friend's journey and can't wait for the next book!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Author Liz Alden for the gifted arc.

The chemistry between the two main characters was undeniable from page one. Whether they were exchanging funny notes on the fridge or teasing each other, whether they were kissing or making love... they were on fire!
So, if you wanna lose yourself in a very sweet but also pretty spicy book, Riesling With My Roommate is the right book for you.

Riesling with My Roommate is about letting go, embracing change, living in the present, and opening up to love. This novella turns the heat dial all the way up while tugging on the heartstrings.

The historical German countryside, fierce friendships, playful banter, tension, and a big romantic gesture that would make John Hughes proud—make this a beautifully crafted story with unforgettable characters. Liz Alden has done it again!

Ughh I loved it. This rockstar romance had me swooning for a man with black nail polish with a tongue ring and a man bun. After reading this I definitely am interested in doing yoga, it's impossible not think about when it's a big part of the story. It was fun and spicy, I enjoyed reading it.

4* Book 2, Sara's story set in Germany.

Arriving in Baden-Baden, Sara Wallace, widow, squeaky clean vegan and yoga instructor, finds that the apartment she's booked and paid for sight unseen, is so bad it's probably a health hazard. Sitting in a cafe and crying on the phone to her friends, a stranger overhears her conversation and offers her a room in his house. Sara, who's usually rational and unadventurous, takes a chance and accepts the stranger's offer.

Her new landlord is Chris Rächer, a member of a successful German goth rock band, who's renting a large house while trying to write new material for the band. Settling into being roommates, Sara tries to help Chris concentrate his mind for his writing, and Chris appears in one of Sara's yoga videos.

A sweet story, except I found Sara annoying and blinkered, there were constant reminders that she was a vegan and her first day at the house she disapproved that Chris smoked. Sensing her disapproval, he quit smoking immediately, without even experiencing tobacco withdrawal symptoms.

Would have preferred a different solution to the end – he gives up everything for her, even changing his appearance.

Even with my negative comments this is a good book, two more to follow.
