Another excellent book by Loretta Eidson. This one takes the reader through the realism of being trapped a raging forest fire. Eidson’s attention to detail enables the reader to experience the terror Haley experienced trying to escape insurmountable odds while being chased by escaped convicts, one of whom is her relative. Woven throughout is the emphasis of how to trust God especially when Haley wasn’t sure she could trust her own instincts. “Being out in the middle of nowhere, there was no way to know what would happen next. Her life was in God’s and (firefighter) Kendall’s hands.” Could she trust the blossoming feelings for her rescuer?

This is my first-time reading a by Loretta Eidson. Kendall is a Forest Service firefighter. Haley is on vacation when she suddenly finds herself in a forest fire with escaped convicts and so much more going on this 204-page book. This is an entertaining read that is an easy quick read that has drama, action packed, mystery, mayhem, suspense, escaped convicts, forest fire, kidnapping, twists, turns, great heroine and hero and a plot that held me captive. Kendall is there at every step to ensure the safety to protect and keep Haley safe. This is one book that you will want to read, and this is an enjoyable read.

I received an ARC via NetGalley and Harlequin and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

I very much enjoyed reading this adventurous book.
With lots of twists and turns I was kept on the edge of my seat waiting for the next thing to happen.
Lots of wonderful characters and an excellent plot I finished this book in an evening.
I also learned many things about firefighting that I never knew about.
While trust is the main theme for this title so is a lot of other factors like learning work together to get out of their predicament.
I don't know when I've enjoyed such a book but I sure did and I highly recommend it for others to enjoy too.
5 stars for a job well done.
My thanks for a copy of this book. My thanks for a copy of this book.

Another heartwarming tail from Love Inspired. Every character was perfectly written and the adventure was great!

A new author for me and she did not disappoint. There was non-stop action and suspense in this book. A vacation alone after her friend gets sick leads to an unexpected kidnapping and run for her life.

Along the way her rescuer teaches her about respecting nature and gives valuable tips on fighting wildfires. She teaches him to rely on God to see you through without judging.

Although I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book has a lot of interesting material about fighting a forest fire.. The different techniques that are used are amazing. I found the story, however, to drag in places. With each challenge that was faced, the author seemed to repeat the same material about the character, just worded differently. I know it's fiction, but it seemed to drag on beyond belief. Running from a forest fire with minimum supplies just seemed to me to be unreasonable. I knew the people would survive, but I couldn't wait till the end to see how they survived. I wanted to give the book a three rating because the story drug on and on. But the information about fire fighting interested me.

Thank you to Net Galley for an ARC for an honest review.

This book appealed to me due to the current out-of-control fires currently in Canada. This book also enlightened me about complexity of fires that I never knew. Written in the context of a Christian suspense novel, Haley is on vacation when several convicts invade her cabin. Fires are all around! Firefighter Kendall comes to her rescue, as well as the men who have escaped from jail. Day after day they struggle to stay alive and return to civilization, with Kendall's skills and knowledge. Haley reminds them that they all of the need to pray for God for help, but will they listen? This book is very exciting - the hang on to your hat sort, and the run for your life!
I read this complimentary e-book from the publishers. The thoughts expressed are my own.

This is a Clean Suspenseful Romantic. The suspense was so great in this book, and the romance was very light. I loved this story, and this book took you on a crazy ride with the characters trying to get out of a forest fire. There was a ton of stuff going on in this book, but I did feel like it was well done. I did feel the romance parts were cheesy. I really enjoyed reading this book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Love Inspired Suspense) or author (Loretta Eidson) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

An amazing story. Perfect balance of drawing out the storyline which can sometimes be hard in shorter books. It is a story that as full of crime, adventure, mercy, and grace and love and forgiveness and second chances.

This book was definitely filled with suspense, danger and plenty of action. It jumps right into the action and just doesn’t stop. The author did a great job with describing the scenes and helped you immerse yourself into the story. The way the prisoners acted also seemed very realistic and made you sit on the edge of your seat. I wasn’t a huge fan of the faith aspect of this book but to each their own.

I received an advanced readers copy of this book.

Blue Ridge Mountain Escape is a heart pounding, edge of your seat read that starts out with suspense and doesn’t let up until the final page.

Poor Haley Gordon is at the wrong place at the wrong time when she decides to go alone on a camping trip, despite her having reservations of being in the wilderness alone. Haley is a woman with a strong faith, and she knows she’s never really truly alone, but she ends up with a vacation unlike anything she could’ve imagined, complete with escaped convicts, a fearless fireman, and a relentless wildfire.

As with most suspense novels, there is an almost constant ebb and flow of tension coming from several factors throughout the novel, which balances perfectly with the picturesque scenery and the characters internal thoughts. The details about the area that they’re in, as well as wildlife that they encounter are very educational, but my favorite part was learning about the firestorms, and just exactly what first responders have to contend with in these types of situations, thanks to fireman Kendal’s vast wisdom. I cannot even begin to imagine the bravery that each and every individual must possess to risk their lives on a daily basis as they fight these blazes, and I will never not be thankful for their sacrifices.

Though the novel is teeming with suspense I struggled to connect with the characters, especially Haley. I felt like there could’ve been more depth and development to the characters, and the whole romantic arc with Haley and Kendal was just too perfect, especially the ending. I was really craving a little more grit, but then again this is a Harlequin novel, so it comes as no surprise that everything magically falls into place, and everyone lives happily ever after.

Despite a few misgivings I overall enjoyed Blue Ridge Mountain Escape. The faith aspect was vocalized as well as acted upon, and was a major part of this narrative, which is always inspiring, and it was a quick read with a good flow, and lots of action and suspense. One of my favorite parts of the story was a redemption arc from one of the supporting characters. Seeing someone change for the better is always great, and always puts a smile on my face. A great summer read!

This was a fabulous story. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat and turning the pages! Harley and Kendall's story will keep you on your toes with all the action, drama, and suspense but there’s a bit of romance too. I loved how the author brought the story to life with her descriptive words. It definitely made think and feel like I was there experiencing it with the characters. I couldn’t put it down once I started it. WOW!! What a journey!! I loved every minute of it but it had my heart racing at times!

Blue Ridge Mountain Escape is the first book I have read by Loretta Eidson. While it is part of a collection, it can easily stand-alone.

I had a bit of a hard time believing all the events that happened right at the beginning, which made it a bit harder for me to get into the story.

Blue Ridge Mountain Escape is a quick read. Haley ends up on vacation alone when her friend gets sick and flakes out on her. What follows is a series of serious, unfortunate events. Instead of a peaceful vacation, she gets the fight of her life.

Kendell is in the right place at the right time or the wrong place at the right time, depending on how you look at it. Not only is he trying to keep Haley alive, but there is also the threat of wildlife and the convicts on the loose.

Thank you to JustReads Publicity and the author for the opportunity to read this book. I was not required to provide a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Haley Gordon is just wanting a peaceful vacation, She is not expecting to be awoken by escaped convicts nor a raging fire. Forest Service firefighter Kendall Simpson is not expecting all that unfolds on his call. When he is forced to trust Haley, they must try to find their way out of all the fire and trouble that continues to lap at their heels. I. was given a copy of this novel for my honest opinion.

Her vacation just turned very scary...

What do you do when almost every aspect of your life is in upheaval; from job to romance, from family to friends?...well...may I suggest fleeing a wildfire cross country with a handsome firefighter while trying to dodge murderous escaped convicts...A little far-fetched? Not for Haley Gordon it isn't. And readers get to take the wild ride with her and Kendall Simpson every heart-stopping step of the way in Blue Ridge Mountain Escape.

This is the second Love Inspired novel that I've read from Loretta Eidson and may I say that she gives her characters even less of a break in this book than she did the last one. If firestorms and bears don't get them, betrayal and bad guys just might. The story moves forward lickety-split from danger to danger and it means that the reader had better have some reading time set aside to find out what happens next.

Blue Ridge Mountain Escape is another good Love Inspired read from Loretta Eidson. It's a quick read and an entertaining fast-paced wilderness adventure. It's also a good way to spend a cool rainy afternoon or even a hot lazy one...

Blue Ridge Mountain Escape is a faith-filled romantic suspense from Loretta Eidson. From the very first line you get drawn right into Haley Gordon's story. She embarks on a peaceful vacation alone in the mountains. The girl has had some problems recently. A bad breakup and a sick best friend means she will be spending some time alone. All is well until the very first night when she is rescued by Forest Service firefighter Kendall Simpson. A bad forest fire has broken out and the fall foliage is ripe for burning. As Haley and Kendall try to outrun a raging wildfire, a few escaped convicts are also out there in the mountains along with dangerous wildlife. These two suffer from trust issues with people in general, each other, and God. Can they trust each other enough and the Lord to help them come out of this nightmare alive?
OMS! This was such an intense book. I truly felt that I was there in the midst of this wildfire that chased Kendall and Haley. It felt like it was a never-ending journey for them to find safety. I loved the interactions of these two. They went from not trusting each other to totally putting their faith in the other. They showed such knowledge and strength and faith. Oh, I loved Haley's faith. It was refreshing. Towards the end, I was crying every 5 seconds. I loved the ending so much. In most cases, you are lucky...Lucky...if you get a 1-2 page epilogue. Don't get me wrong I love those epilogues and they can really make a good story great. Though, we don't technically get an epilogue, we get like a whole chapter! I repeat a whole chapter of where these two are 8 months later. It truly made this book AMAZING! I'm such a fan. The only thing I can find fault with in this book is that it did not contain a Dear Reader letter. I'm probably the only one who would notice but I really look forward to reading Dear Reader letters. Don't hesitate to read this book. You will not regret it especially if intense page-turners are your thing! I was blessed to get a copy of this book, but all opinions are my very own.

Hayley is on vacation. She was supposed to have a friend with her but her friend couldn’t come. Par for the course of her life lately. It just seems like if something can go wrong it will in her life.

And that point gets hit home when she wakes up her first morning to convicts in her room! Maybe it would have been different if one of them wasn’t her cousin. They grew up together but she does not approve of the path his life went down and she definitely isn’t going to help him after he escaped from prison!

But then someone comes to the door, the convicts and their helper run off, the house is on fire, and a stranger saves her. Is this where I should mention the mountain is on fire and they’re running for their lives? And that their escape route is no longer an option so they’re in a race against the fire? Or that this firefighter who rescued her knows the convicts were there and found their jumpsuits in her car so he thinks she’s helping them?

All that within the first few chapters!

And it just keeps going! It’s intense. It’s fast-paced. And it is amazing. I truly enjoyed this book. It read super fast and I could not put it down. You’re going to love this one!

Oh, I should mention it’s part of a series. But it’s a stand-alone title.
