I have loved this series of books. This is the story of Gwen and Silas’s daughter Lennie who is the first female dragon ever. Being unique, she is selected to be the heir to the throne. The kingdoms are still in chase of the Raven and the brotherhood who are scheming to take it all over. Lennie and the elvin princess end up in a squirming and take the raven down. Then their brothers are kidnapped and the kings are caught. It’s up to Lennie and the other siblings to save everyone. Can she trust this raven who has caused much grief and harm to her people?

A lighthearted fantasy romance with love, betrayal and Dragons what’s not to love.
Princess Lenushka is a Dragon shifter who meets her match in Bran the Raven. Their first meeting has great misunderstandings, and the past has come to haunt them. With friends and family, they must come together to destroy the Brotherhood of the Sun.
Part of a series that l hope keeps to the same high standards.

TRIGGER WARNINGS: Mentions of rape and pedophilia

I went into this book blind and not realizing it was apart of a series and I think that it worked out for me. Major plot points from previous books that were important in this book was reiterated multiple times in this book to the point where I thought it was a bit unnecessary. The plot was easy enough to understand and follow, to the point where it read a little young to me, except for the small bits of spice and the multiple mentioning of pedophilia and rape. I also thought that the author mentioned the abuse too much for the context which pulled me out of the story and didn’t add anything new with the additional mention besides informing a couple more characters at a time.

The story follows Lenny, a dragon shifter princess and heir to the throne, and Bram, a raven shifter and former priest in an evil cult, who has to journey with a ragtag bunch to rescue her brother, a Prince of a different land, and bram’s brother from an evil priest. The characters themselves were cute I loved Lenny and Bram’s relationship. It was enemies to lovers, but also insta lovey. There’s also side romances as well so by the end of the book there’s three different couples engaged, which is kind of wild for a series to not stretch that out. I did appreciate it though, conflict could have been added to drag that out but it was all resolved at the end so if I didn’t want to I could be done with the series.

I think I will go back and restart the series and after that decide whether to continue on. I am intrigued to read more!

Kerrelyn has been one of my favorite authors for years and this novel doesn't change that. I love the embraced series and I cannot wait for more! Top notch, Ms Sparks!

Another easy, fun read about the Embraced . I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with Bran aka the Raven as he’s previously impressed this reader with his loyalty and fortitude, not to mention cunning . Lennie however felt fresh and very determined but strangely also perhaps a little innocent at times which made it sweeter and funny . The supporting characters all add immensely to the adventure and shenanigans so whilst not the longest story I’ve read it’s certainly a very entertaining one .
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from NetGalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Ooo, this world reminds me of the Hawksong world (Amelia Atwater-Rhodes). Born with shifting powers, including a rare dragon power! Of course, Bran being a Raven is what really made me recall the Kiesha'ra books.

Sparks' world-building is creative, giving opportunities for magic powers and shifting of every kind. Anything is possible, and that makes subterfuge a real threat. Evil concealed is an ever-present danger, simmering in the background.

The story starts with a ruined wedding, and a cloud descending on Lennie (what a fun name for a princess! I adore the author's quirky sense of humor!)

"We both want to save our brothers so we should put the past behind us."

I think what I liked most was that Lennie is such a well-rounded character. She could be shallow, or just vengeful, but her heart is gentle and fierce at the same time. "The world had goodness in it. She had to remember that. Goodness and love."

Of course, it helps that The Raven is incredibly good looking! 😉 "The Raven was brave and loyal, a man who didn't hesitate to risk his life for those he cared about. And now he was extending that gift of loyalty to her." Swoon.

A fun quick read, with magic and mystery, and fire-breathing dragons.

This book continues the Embraced series. While I vastly enjoyed the earlier books in the series, I felt that this one was a bit uneventful. This story is about Silas and Gwennore's (Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon) daughter. To get the best background, it's good to read all of the books in the Embraced series. Sparks did a great job of world building in her earlier books in the Embraced series which hooked me on this series. I would have liked to see more of that in this story. Favorite part of the story is the banter and comments from Father Bertram and Father Sebastian. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Magic adventure and romance! Royalty, shifters, dragons, kidnapping, and of course anquest to get the evil monk. Secrets, betrayal, and magical powers add to the fun. Multiple romances trying to grow during it all. A lot going on and a fast pace make it a really good read.

Another enjoyable read in the embraced series, following the children of the characters of the 5 embraced women who started it all. The Brotherhood has not be destroyed and they have a new agenda, but the same goals. Bran, the raven, wants nothing more than to destroy the Brotherhood for what they did to his family. Bran has committed crimes for the Brotherhood, but now can finally get his revenge. Lennie wants revenge on the raven for his crimes, but eventually gets to know him and sees he is so much more than what he appears. Fearing that he will learn her secrets, she keeps her identity as a princess secret. Even though they started out having different feelings for the other, they needed to work together to save their loved ones and stop the Brotherhood. However, secrets have a way of coming out when least expected, and one must set aside feelings for the greater good. I received this novel as an ARC from net galley and the publisher. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another great installment in the Embraced By Magic series. This is a fun world to be in. It has that fairytale feel to it and the characters face real strife, but the romance is more on the lighter side of things. You do actually get three romances in this one book. It was fun to see all three develop. I would recommend starting all the way back to the parents series. It's much more fun getting to know the characters from the beginning.

I really enjoyed this book. Lenny and Bran were great characters that helped each other heal emotional wounds and insecurities. It does help that I’ve read all the books in this series b/c all the characters from prior books were mentioned or played roles in this, however the author does a good job of recapping who they are. There was suspense, dragons, shifters and magically gifted people…what’s not to like!

I received an advanced reader's copy of When a Dragon Falls by Kerrelyn Sparks from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Overall, I quite enjoyed this novel and it made for a quick, easy read. The main characters - Lennie and Bran - were an interesting match. Their chemistry was hot, the banter was engaging, and the action moved along. All in all, this novel was well written and the plot was engaging and entertaining.

I enjoyed this book. It had lots of magic and romance between Bran and Lennie. There were a lot of characters and you really need to read all the books in this series to enjoy them.

Princess Lenushka must marry to secure her throne but she can't keep her eyes off Bran. Bran has his own secrets.... Can they fight against the monsters together?

I enjoy Bran and Lennie together a lot. I love their chemistry. They are terrific together. The plot has a good pace... This is another terrific book in the series.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

Lennie, the dragon princess, and Bran, the raven shifter are an odd pairing, but of course it works. A bit long on the feelings of worthiness (due to royalty vs commoner) but otherwise enjoyed this one. Love the author and series, and if you've read others you will enjoy this one. Highly recommend.
