A great read. Cute, heartwarming and adventurous.

The writing at the start can be a bit bland but it gets better in the later chapters. I love the discriptions of the scenes that they are fighting for their lives.

Really hoping for the next book <3

I was so excited for this book and to read more about Winter’s story! It did not disappoint, I devoured this adventure in one sitting as it was so fast paced.

Winter Knowles takes a travel photography gig on a jungle expedition and meets the bane of her existence, AKA expedition leader Dr. Logan Spencer. The two can’t stand each other and fight every step of the way, until they are forced together in the face of danger, and they need to trust each other.

I loved how much adventure there was in this book, and how great of a team Winter and Logan made together when dealing with danger. Also, Winter is such a badass, I absolutely loved her.

As for the romance, I was hesitant at first about Logan and his negativity towards Winter joining the team, but he definitely grew on me by the end and I loved how supportive he was about her choices and her career. He fell hard and fast for her and did not want to let her go.

The side characters were great too, and I am so excited to read Archie’s story next!

Thank you, Boldwood Books and NetGalley, for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

DNF at 8%

The first chapter introduces us to both the male and female main characters. I immediately dislike the male main character Logan and don’t even want to continue to see if he improves in the future. He immediately dislikes that there is a female photographer on his team searching for a city of Lost Gold and thinks that she’ll cause a variety of issues of a sexual complicated relationship type. The female main character, Winter, also doesn’t have a lot of substance to her and wants to come across as a professional but proceeds to show up late to a first meeting with the team as well as immediately not following an NDA

I hate DNFing a book, but, unfortunately, I decided not to finish Love Quest. This was a tough one for me mainly because I didn’t like the main characters. Logan was such an unappealing misogynist, and his disparaging comments about women and Winter made him so unlikeable. He actually said he didn’t want women on his expedition because of all the “drama” it creates. Excuse me? He has an antiquated, sexist outlook that was impossible for me to get past. His friend Archie comes across as a creep too.

And Winter isn’t much better. At the start of the story, she streams a live video of a naked Logan unbeknownst to him to her friend, and they objectify him in a way that was just wrong and creepy and a complete double standard. Talk about a violation! I found both MMCs really hard to get behind.

I was also kind of confused at the beginning when it referenced people and relationships with little context. It made me think this was part of a series and not the first book, and it left me wondering if I missed something. I did like the setting and premise, but the characters and overall story fell flat for me. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the book. All thoughts are my own.

This one was not for me. I love adventure romance but the romance just didn't have sparks - nor did the thing that brings them together feel real or earned. I would not recommend this book.

I loved all the. characters especially Archie, but I felt as if at the beginning the tension between Logan and Winter was being built up very well, only for it to just fall flat and suddenly transition from hatred to love, with no real connection or chemistry having been established first.
The setting and the plot of the story, an archeologist and a photographer had amazing potential, and while I did enjoy the book I do think that it was missing some key elements.
However aside from the romance the setting was great and I loved the team trying to find the lost city and the big plot twist toward the end.
I will however be picking up Archie and Summer's story!

This was a cute quick read. You will really enjoy this if you don't want anything too heavy and love the Indiana Jones movies.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for a digital copy of this book for my honest opinion

Kinda corny fun in the jungle romp, like the Sandra Bullock movie THE LOST CITY.. Everyone was pretty one-dimensional, and I was incredulous at the end. These two trauma bonded but never had anything more than physical chemistry. But it's fun in a ROMANCING THE STONE action-romance way, if you turn off your brain.

3,5* rounded to 4*
If you're looking for a nice entertaining romance you can't go wrong with Camilla Isley books
Please note: this book is a new edition of a book previously published as "From Thailand With Love".

Sometimes I wonder how this author gets her idea for such romance. This time we're following an archeological expedition through the jungle!
Winter Knowles is a successful photographer, previously introduced in "The love theorem", who gets to be the one to document Dr Logan mission to find a lost city of gold. If you're looking for something relaxing, think again: we get plenty of action in this book.

Winter has a truly positive and easy-going attitude, while Logan is more defensive, guarded and a total control freak. Will his behaviour be enough to keep their attraction at bay?
The secondary characters and the scenario creates a good setting for this romance.
While the story gets a little out of hand at some point, in my opinion and our characters get through very borderline experiences, it's enjoyable non the less and Winter/Logan have a sizzling chemistry.

I really enjoyed the adventurous parts of this, the plot was fun, but I did not enjoy the romance aspect, it felt like it just happened really quickly and then suddenly they were massively in love.

This was such a fun read! I was drawn in by the cute cartoon cover and the author herself. Im so glad I was able to read this early. Winter and Logan's banter is superior and I loved the workplace rivals (kind of?) and one tent trope! Also the scenery and adventure of the story was so fun to read. Any so many twists and turns. This is a short read and it FLYS so you can definitely read in one sitting. HIGHLY recommend! And I predict that this will be a top summer read!

Love Quest is a quick and light read that is perfect for all grumpy/sunshine lovers like myself! I could not put this down and loved it so much!

I absolutely loved reading this book. I was completely drawn into the topic and could not stop reading it.

Winter is a travel photography hired to go on an expedition in Thailand. Logan is the professor leading the expedition in a search for an archeological wonder. Logan is a grump, who has no desire for a woman to be on the expedition, thinking she will be a distraction to the other men on the trip, when in reality he is a major distraction to him. Winter solidly puts him in his place by proving herself time and time again.

This was a quick, easy read. It had a good grump/sunshine trope, with some insta-love. I liked the adventure aspect. There were some pretty funny moments in the book and I laughed out loud a few times. I thought Winter was a great bad-ass heroine that stood her ground and kicked butt a lot of the time! I really liked Logan's friend Archie, he was a good side character. The book did a good job drawing me in with the monkeys at the beginning of the book.

I did struggle with Logan been written as a bit misogynistic at the beginning of the book, but when you got to know the character, and understand why he struggles with a woman on the trip it made some sense, but not completely. I think it could have been written a bit differently so it didn't come off as women hating, and more that he didn't like people he didn't know/trust on the trip.

I thought this was a good book and I would like to check out other's in the companion series. If you like a bad-ass heroine with major grump/sunshine vibes, this is the book for you! Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for a copy of this book. All opinions are 100% mine.

Well.. This is why misogynist enemy turned lover is NOT a good idea.
I love a good enemies to lover, it's my favourite trope, but not on these terms.
When he affirms that he doesn't want women on his expeditions and “not because he hates women but because he doesn't want any drama”, my eyes rolled in my head so hard that they almost end up in my ears. When he started wondering if she would show up in a skirt for their jungle trip I almost DNF the book. And I never DNF. Like ever.
The point is.. There were a million ways to write them as enemies, really. But a misogynist love interest is not a good idea.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing this eARC.
Love Quest follows the travel photographer Winter and the archaeologist Logan. With their team, they are on a quest to find a long-lost city of gold. The story follows them from disliking each other to being completely in love. Oh, and there's also lots of action.
The book is fast-paced and you can read it pretty fast (it's less than 200 pages).

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I always try to push through ARCs to be respectful, but this was a DNF pretty early on. In the first few pages there is talking head syndrome, really awkward dialogue, and a character streaming video of an undressed male character in a way that was supposed to be funny but was really just creepy.

Cool concept though.

Thank you NetGalley! This book was so cute! If you're a fan of short reads this is for you. It's not really spicey but the characters are a joy! As some one who really like Indiana Jones growing up I devoured this story! Also, a badass female character was a plus! 10/10 recommend.
