That was a fun read!
Love Quest absolutely gives the vibe of Indiana Jones! There is lots of adventure mixed with a sweet romance! Chemistry between Winter and Logan is magical. You actually can feel the change in them when they go from enemies to lovers.
It is a fast read so if you think about taking something for holidays then I highly recommend this book. It was so cute!
This was a cute romance book. I enjoyed the dual perspective. I thought the author did a good job naming me believe the enemies/hate portion at the beginning especially on Logans side that when they did find love it seemed quick and very shocking to me. I would definitely read another book by this author.
3.75🌟!
This was a very enjoyable book with loads of adventures, a little danger and action. And my favourite part was the adventure.
Logan and Winter starts on wrong footing and Winter instantly takes a dislike to him. I loved Logan more than Winter.
I enjoyed the writing style and the story just flowed. I also loved the variety of secondary characters and characterisation was done really well.
It was also commendable that they BOTH tried to work for their relationship in the end instead of just one sacrificing everything.
What I did have problem was with Winter. She was overly hostile with Logan. Towards the middle I expected them to bond a little more, to be in more sync and have more chemistry. I also wanted them to act a little more maturely. That didn’t happen instead Winter took a rather impulsive step that irritated me (first Airport scene).
But Winter as a photographer and Warrior was quite a badass.
Overall an entertaining and enjoyable book with closed door scenes.
Recommended.
Imagine if Tomb Raider or Indiana Jones was a slightly smutty romcom and you get [b:Love Quest|126522554], which picks up where [b:The Love Theorem|123788273] leaves off. We travel with Winter Knowles to Thailand, where she’s joining as the photographer an expedition to find a lost city of gold. The expedition is led by Dr. Logan Spencer, who might be Satan: Grumpy, possibly anti-feminist and definitely not pleased to have her on the team, but lordy does he have a nice ass. As they seek what would be the greatest archeological find in decades, they must face deadly threats at every turn, and it’s not just the jungle that wants to do them harm.
One expects this level of swashbuckling adventure from historical bodice-rippers. The danger kicked the tension up several degrees, and made Summer and Logan’s coming together all the sweeter. Winter is sassy, incredibly capable, brave and talented and makes fun heroine; Logan is just the right mix of infuriating and swoony.
I enjoyed this pairing more than Lana and Christian; I’m even more looking forward to more time with Archie in [b:The Love Proposal|137978982] (though I’m not so sure I’m ready to forgive Summer for betraying Lana, even if Lana and Winter have).

🌶️ 🌶️ Sexy times in the jungle AND 5 star hotels
🌴🗿🛕⚱️💎 The scanning tech is real and super cool
🐅 I don’t know what an American tiger is or why she was in Thailand, but we (especially Winter and Logan) can all be grateful she was
🍜🥞 If Archie gets his own story, sweet Tucker should too!

*3.5
I liked the story in this one. It was fun and very action packed. I believe that they are in love after what they go through but I wish that they talked about their feelings more. It's like the feelings are there but they aren't voicing them at all, even to themselves.
I received an arc through netgalley.
Archeologists Logan Spencer and Photographer Winter Knowles team up with a group of experts to discover a lost city of gold in Thailand. Tensions run high as Logan doubts Winter can rough it out in the jungle and she does everything she can to make him eat his words. When their expedition takes an unexpected turn, they’ll have to rely on each other to survive the unpredictable wilderness.
Overall, the plot was kind of predictable. I would have like to see something in the story to make it stand out in some way. Logan’s assumption of the gender roles that they are playing at the beginning of the book is pretty off putting. He even refers to his male colleges as “a pack of doting puppies” when they first meet Winter. There seems to be no substance to her and Logan’s relationship other than finding comfort in the situation they were in. She had more chemistry with Archie than him. Logan just seemed to lack any personality other than not liking women. I did, however, like the action portion of the book and think it was written well. I love the cover, however I don’t think it represents the characters quite accurately.
Rating: 3/5
As a woman it is easy to be "dismissed" as not capable or relevant especially in difficult situations, but Winter gets it even more as a beautiful woman surrounded by men. However, a girl can roll over and let the men be dismissive and rude or a girl can smack them in the face with their own prejudices and preconceived beliefs. Fortunately for the reader of this book, Winter is the type of gal who claps back and proves her worth. In this case, she proves it even more than just being the badass photographer that she is! A funny rom com that will have you laughing and cheering Winter on in her antics and badassery! This is the second book in the series and I highly recommend that you read the series in order, not because you have to in order to enjoy this book, but rather because you would be missing out! The first book does introduce Winter and set up her strong character and characters as well as events from the first book are brought up in this book so it would be wise to read in order. The plot is fun, the banter witty and the characters are friendship worthy! Overall, I have to say that I enjoyed this entertaining read very much!
The premise of the book Love Quest is what first captured my attention. I had Indiana Jones meets Romancing the Stone vibes from the description of this book. I must say that that first assessment of the storyline was pretty accurate. Winter, a photographer, and Logan, an archeologist, find themselves thrust together on a discovery expedition in a Thailand. Logan has staked his reputation on the theory that the lost golden city is located in the jungles at what is called location X. They are joined by Logan’s best friend, Archie, a cook, Thai guides and a 3 person ex military protection group. At first, Logan is convinced Winter will only cause problems and is quite rude to her. Winter doesn’t take his attitude and gives as good as she gets in the sass department but when the 3 ex military soldiers decide to take over the expedition and turn it into a for profit mission Winter and Logan need to work together to save their friends as well as their own lives. As they are fighting for survival they realize that the tension between them is more attraction then hate and that is when things take an interesting turn. I loved this unique premise and the writing style made for a real pleasant read. I was finished this book in two days! I will say that the story felt a bit rushed at times and drawn out at other moments but there was always a logical progression to the storyline. Overall a really fun read and I will go back and read the first four books in this series. It also looks like there are more books to come and I look forward to them.
My first by Camilla Isley, though I’ve been collecting so many of hers through great Chirp sales for a long time. I’m going back straight away to read the rest of this series and all of the rest of her back catalogue, I enjoyed it so much!
It looks like this is one I previously have from those sales; From Thailand With Love, re-covered and re-released!
This was a very quick and very enjoyable, entertaining read (closed door but absolutely implied scenes).
I loved the mystery and intrigue of journeying through the Thai jungle to find a fabled lost city, along with the enemies to lovers relationship between Winter (an identical twin, blond hair and blue eyed, looking like a supermodel and not someone cut out for trekking through the jungle), the photographer, and Logan, the scholar archaeologist who has researched and is certain he has discovered the location of the Lost City of Gold and is leading a team to the find of his life.
It’s a wild adventure with so many things no one expected. We even have a meddling bartender and a mad dash through an airport to profess love - how can you not love a romance with this in it!
Completely and totally recommend this one - I read this and A Love Proposal back-to-back which I also recommend. It follows Winter’s twin Summer, and Logan’s best friend (who features prominently in this book).
I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Boldwood Books, and this is my honest review.
Love Quest by Camilla Isley
I received an advance review copy for free thanks to Rachel's Random Resources and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Blurb
She didn’t go to the jungle to meet the man of her dreams. Luckily, Dr Logan Spencer is NOT the man of her dreams!
As epic meet-cutes go, travel photographer, Winter Knowles thinks finding a gorgeous naked man outside her Thailand villa is pretty perfect. But then she discovers the naked heartthrob is none other than Dr Logan Spencer, her gruff standoffish (but sexy as hell) jungle expedition leader.
Dr Logan is on the mission of a lifetime. There’s a lost city of gold to discover and he doesn’t need any distractions - especially not the stubborn, sassy beautiful photographer type! His reputation is on the line.
These arch rivals get off on the wrong foot. But when the heat rises in the jungle, Winter and Logan are forced together in the face of danger. Is trusting someone with your life the best meet-cute of all?
Please note that this title was originally published as From Thailand With Love
My Opinion
If you have read my recent reviews you will know that I am fast becoming a big fan of Camilla Isley's books. Camilla has written an action packed jungle adventure with some entertaining scenes, particularly a phone stealing monkey. This is a 'series' of connected stand alone books - the secondary characters cross over but each can be read as a stand alone.
This book was so gripping that I managed to read over 50% in my lunch break - I would have read more if time allowed. A cute and funny, enemies-to-lovers novel. Now I need to hunt out my next Camilla Isley book.
Rating: 4/5
I enjoyed Love Quest more than I thought. It is the 5th book in the First Comes Love series and I haven’t read any other ones. Logan and Winter go on a wild adventure. I was a child who grew up with Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider. Love Quest has those same fun adventure story elements.
Winter and Logan have a tumultuous first meeting, which triggers a sassy, sexy love affair in the jungle. Love Quest is a fun, fast and easy read, combining romance and a little bit of adventure. A good book to pick up on a chilled afternoon!

Thank you to netgalley, the publisher and Camilla Isley for providing me with an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
This was my second book read by Camilla and I absolutely devoured it. It was sooo hard to put down!!! A great storyline, great romance and so entertaining!!
This was a very cute book with a variety of likeable and relatable characters with varying personalities. It also contained a nicely plotted enemies to lovers romance that pans out alongside an exciting adventure. I would definitely recommend this to someone looking for a fun and summery read!
I absolutely loved Camilla Isley’s The Love Theorem, so I was eager to get started on Love Quest.
This book is Winter’s story, and she’s off to act as photographer on an expedition in Thailand. I loved reading her first sight of expedition leader Logan, which was hilarious. The banter between Winter and the rest of the team was also a lot of fun.
I enjoyed reading about such a different setting to The Love Theorem, and such different characters. One thing that hadn’t changed though, was how easy and joyful the text is to read.
The only thing I didn’t like, was how much of an adrenaline ride the second half of the book was. That’s really not my thing at all. However, I know lots of people enjoy a bit of excitement, and it definitely moved the story on.
If you like some danger and excitement in your romance, this will hit all the right spots. It’s adventurous, and funny, as well as a romance.
I was given a copy of this book, my opinions are my own.
Outside of the sexism (gross), Logan and Winter had great banter and I enjoyed them getting together. This is a bit of a slow burn, but the book isn't very long so you don't feel it that much. Once they do get together this book moves so fast and we get a HEA (yay!).
I want to give this author another try since this is a series and I think I will like her sister Winter's story. This is the second book, so I need to go back and read the first and third. I do love when we get to hear multiple romances within the same series. It's so cute when friends get together & have a little group. I picture them going on triple dates and I loooove that.
Definitely recommend if you want an Indiana Jones type romance!
I was totally cover influenced choice in my choice to read this book! I fell in love with his adorable illustrated cover characters and their Romancing the Stone vibes!
Love Quest is the fifth book in Isley’s First Comes Love series, and is my first book I’ve read of hers! I found this book easy to get into, and a lot of fun, even without any prior knowledge of the characters backgrounds from past books.
Winter Knowles is a blonde, bombshell adventure photographer, she’s been hired on for a top-secret expedition into the Thai jungle to find a secret golden city led by Dr. Logan Spencer.
This mission equates a lifetimes worth of work for Logan and he takes it seriously, so the intrusion of Winter and her Barbie like looks into the all male expedition team put his hackles up!
Winter has dealt with this type of man and she knows how to show him that she’s capable like any other member of the team, but also drive him wild!
I had so much fun with this adventure romance! The jungle expedition was really neat and fun location for the romance to bloom. The enemies to lovers dynamic between winter, and Logan works well as they fight their way through the jungle and get closer as they are forced to work together through varying degrees of hardships. So much great banter and teasing!
I had hoped for romancing the Stone vibes in this book completely delivered. It was a quick read, but I had so much fun on this adventure! I also got pretty attached to some of the characters, and I will be checking out the blacklist of the series as I wait for the next book!
Love Quest by Camilla Isley is available July 8th.
Thanks to Boldwood Books for my e-book review copy. Opinions are my own.

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book!
While I appreciated the intriguing idea behind this book, I couldn't help but feel that it fell a little flat for me. One of the aspects that didn't sit well with me was my lack of connection to the characters, and I found the way the main male character initially spoke about girls to be a bit off-putting. However, the overall story had a certain charm to it, though I thought that events unfolded a bit too swiftly, and the resolutions came too quickly as well.
If you're seeking a quick romance read that doesn't demand much contemplation, then this book might be just what you're looking for.
A Indiana Jones type of adventure and romance? Yes, please!
I really liked this book, I read it in one sitting. It was exciting, adventurous, action-packed and filled with heat. The opening scene was so funny. Logan was quite unlikeable at first with his prejudice, but he gradually realized that there is much more to Winter than he thought. It really had an impact on their relationship when they had to rely on each other. The HEA was good and now I’m curious how Archie and Summer’s story will turn out in the next book.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me a copy of the book.
Winter and Logan are the main couple in this book. She’s a wildlife (I think) photographer and he’s an archeologist, who’s trying to discover the legendary golden city. As part of his discovery team Winter accompanies Logan to the jungle of Thailand.
Our first meeting with Logan could have been better, literally one of the first things he thinks when he sees Winter is that he doesn’t want women on his team, because they overcomplicate everything. He and Winter bicker over everything, even when he tries to be civil, she thinks he’s being hostile. It was a bit annoying to be honest.
When it comes to the plot in this book, it was a little more high stakes then in the previous books. We have a great adventure story with some obstacles and I liked that the story focuses on more than Logan and Winter.
I like the writing style and will dive into the next book in this series right away, which will focus on Summer, Winter’s evil twin and Archie, Logan's best friend.
