Pine Creek Matchmaker by Amity Hope takes us back to Pine Creek. It was good to see Caleb Weaver and Sadie Ziegler again. They are older and, hopefully, wiser. Pine Creek Matchmaker is a cute story. I found the story to be easy to read. It moved along at a good pace. I enjoyed getting to know Caleb and Sadie. I liked Sadie’s cheerful personality. Matchmaking abounds in this story. I loved the humor. The kitten was a good way to bring Caleb and Sadie together (a sweet meet cute). Caleb is a good candymaker and cook. The candy descriptions had my mouth watering (made me wish their candy store was nearby). I appreciated the epilogue which nicely wrapped up the story. While Pine Creek Matchmaker is the third book in the Pine Creek Amish series, it can be read as a standalone. I have enjoyed reading the series from the beginning. Pine Creek Matchmaker is an amiable Amish tale with a cute kitten, merry matchmaking, scrumptious candy, judgmental people, a difficult decision, and a caring community.
Amity Hope is a new to me author, since Amish fiction is one of my favorite genres, I knew I wanted to read this novel. I am so glad that I did. Not only did I find a new author but I found a wonderfully written story with a whole cast of likable characters and community to immerse myself in. I felt at home there and will gladly revisit at my earliest opportunity.
I adored Emma Ziegler, her siblings and Levi Bontrager. There is of course a bit of sadness as Emma’s father has died and she’s left with more responsibility than she should have for someone so young. The story isn’t new but the storyteller is and she added her unique skills to this sweet, heartrending novel.
Kudos to Amity Hope for crafting such a perfectly paced story that I will read again and highly recommend to others. I look forward to the next book in this series.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley. All opinions are my own.
This is book 3 in the series. I have enjoyed all of the Pinecreek books, this was no exception.
This novel follows Caleb and Sadie, who, years ago, knew each other and couldn’t stand each other. When Caleb returns from a shunning to help his parents in their shop, he is less than impressed to run into Sadie again. Add in an abandoned kitten, and some matchmaking fun, and soon these two are seeing each other in a different light. But will everything change when Sadie learns of his secret?
A wholesome, fun, quick Amish romance, that can easily be read in an hour.
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.
I enjoyed revisiting Pinecreek again in this third book by Amity Hope. The characters, Caleb and Sadie had a history and meet up again 4 years later. A lot of matchmaking keeps the book moving along and you can’t help but fall in love with the characters. I found the series of books delightful and entertaining.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest opinion. All words are my own.
Sweet Story
Sadie Ziegler and Caleb Weaver have history. Most of it revolves around childhood memories of barely tolerating each other. However, tolerate each other they did back then, and tolerate each other they will again, mostly for the sake of Grace, Sadie's best friend and Caleb's sister. Sadie and Caleb find themselves continually getting thrown together which turns their putting up with each other into something much deeper. Stumbling blocks, secrets and judgmental attitudes make their way in, causing difficulties in the path to their budding relationship.
I very much enjoyed getting to know Sadie and Caleb, especially Caleb. Their story is one of love, faith, overcoming and needless to say, quite a bit of matchmaking. It's a sweet story that you won't want to miss.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book. All comments and opinions are voluntary and completely my own.
I didn’t realize this was book 3 in the series until I searched for other books by this author. This book reads well as a stand alone.
This book revolves about mostly the younger generation of an Amish community. Sadie and Grace are lifelong best friends. Grace’s brother, Caleb, created a bit of a scandal years ago when he suddenly left the community to live among the English (non Amish). Now he’s back to help the family. And just as his departure did, his return creates quite a stir.
Sadie and Caleb keep getting thrown together. There’s all kinds of matchmaking going on.
I read this book in one day. I’d put it down but then had to know what happened and pick it back up. It is a typical Amish romance as in there’s some religion thrown in and it’s clean as could be. I loved the characters. Sadie and the rest are believable and likeable. I was really rooting for things to work out.
I did receive this book for free as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review but I have already purchased the first 2 books in the series.
This book toyed with my emotions. I felt everything Caleb was feeling. His trials and tribulations were heart wrenching. Sadie was a bubbly personality that I fell for immediately. The community was inspiring. The ending couldn’t have been more perfect. A wholesome romance that gave me wonderful insight into the life of the Amish. Book provided by NetGalley.
Cute Amish romance with a solid meet cute, young adult fickleness, and some terrific friendships. The only thing I didn’t like was the introduction of the rude characters. They helped move the plot forward but kind of ruined the flow for me. My favorite parts - Grace and Sadie’s friendships and Caleb’s cooking skills!
I love the storyline it just goes to show as long as you have faith there will be love. It's a beautiful story. This book was approved by netgalley and the publisher for me to read and review
Caleb returns to help his family after leaving the Amish life, when he comes across Sadie who flags him down. A sweet romance story, although at times the judgement of others got tiresome. Otherwise, enjoyed this one and would recommend.
Having never read any amish romances before, I was interested in giving them a try! Overall this book was full of sweet moments between the two main characters, exactly what you would expect from this genre! It wasn't too long and told the story it wanted to without dragging it out, which made it enjoyable.
I would definely recommend this book to fans of Hallmark movies! It will give readers the same feeling as watching a happy ending in one of those movies!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
This book was exactly as described! It is everything anyone could want in this variety of romance novel. Sweet, wholesome like a Hallmark movie. There are some moments when the Amish dialect is a bit heavy handed, and some stylistic choices that are a bit distracting (like fund raiser being two words instead of fundraiser).
