Surprisingly fast paced and interesting love story with all the drama and the angst. Ms North writes a lot of middle eastern and American love stories.
This is a good book. The two main characters are Sara and Tariq. Sara has a job interview to be an VP assistant. She gets the job at an oil company. Tariq is one of the owners. They have an instant attraction. They are opposites. One night they are working late, they start arguing then they start kissing. Several weeks later Sara can't keep any food down. She goes to the doctor and finds out she pregnant. They fall in love.
In the first book of the Botros Brothers series, Sara Matthews, a recent engineering graduate, arrives in Kithab, Middle East, to work in the oil fields. Interviewed by VP Amir Botros for a junior engineer and an assistant position, she's soon hired for the latter. Sara builds a rapport with Amir but clashes with the traditional CEO, Sheikh Tariq Botros, who disapproves of her. Curious about an unexplored oil field, Sara independently investigates it, further angering Tariq. However, an unexpected intimate encounter between them leads to Sara's pregnancy. Tariq's grandmother, Fiddah, discovers Sara's condition and ensures her well-being. Tariq, realizing his responsibilities, moves Sara into his home. Despite initial conflicts, their mutual attraction grows. Fiddah's intervention helps Tariq confront his feelings for Sara.
What stood out for me was Sara’s intelligence and dedication. I appreciated Tariq’s depth; while he’s stern, Sara brings out his lighter side. Notably, the author allows the couple ample time—a realistic nine months—to recognize and nurture their love. However, the subplot involving Tariq’s mother felt unnecessary. I also think the narrative could benefit from more depth to intensify its emotional impact. The series promises further intriguing tales of romance and tradition.
I could not get enough of this book! I am so glad there is 3 more to come. Whew so good. A perfect book to read while laying by the pool.
I just reviewed Sheikh's Accidental Pregnancy by Leslie North. #SheikhsAccidentalPregnancy #NetGalley

**My thanks to Netgalley and Relay Publishing, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**
This is certainly not my first book by this author and will certainly not be my last.
With a tried and tested formula we get romance and a lot of watching as the couple slowly fall in love over an accidental pregnancy and in this book some really nice family and friends.
I always know that a book by this author will deliver what I want, a little spice, a happy ending and a happy feeling when the book has ended.
I can almost guarantee that I will love any book that this author brings out.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is book one of a new series. It is a quick, fast paced read. It is extremely predictable. Just okay for me. It is a fun setting. 3 stars
This is the 1st book in the “Botros Brothers Series”. Sheikh Tariq Botros is the rude, arrogant sexy CEO of Botros Oil Company. Sarah was hired by Tariq’s brother. Tariq sees Sarah as unladylike, stubborn and very talkative. Sarah and Tariq are opposites and opposite do attract each other. Sarah and Tariq are consistently bickering back and forth. Sarah is her own person and she is very intriguing to Tariq. It was such as treat to learn that the two finally gave into their desire and had a one-night stand that the two vowed to not let happen ago. Fate has other plans when Sarah learns that their sizzling night of unprotected passion leaves her pregnant. These two are awesome together, love there chemistry and attraction.
I received an ARC via NetGalley and I am leaving my review voluntarily.
Overall — I would file this book under a very cute read.
Sara gets a new job as an assistant to Botros Oil’s VP. Which lead to meeting her boss’ brother, our MC, Sheikh Tariq. And a series of arguments/bickering would follow them leaving a disastrous trail behind.
It was a meet cute for me. Though Sheikh says otherwise ;)
Opposites attract is the exact definition of how they came to be. And I love it when said couple despite differences finds love unexpectedly. And a surprise pregnancy at that! Which eventually forced Sheikh Tariq and Sara to face their emotions for one another.
This book reminds me of Harlequin Romance pocketbooks. Short and straight to the point. I would love it to be a little bit longer, honestly. More scenes on their office romance. Details on how they developed their feelings when they found out about the baby which resulted to them living together. There was also a little jab on Sheik Tariq’s mom accusing Sara of being a gold digger. It would have added to the story/drama in some way but it was left there as is—though by the end, I guess, it’s been resolved over time.
PS: This book also got me researching for what a Sheik is and why people needs to bow to him. It's very insightful to get a glimpse on Arabic culture <3
But yeah, overall it was a very cute read 🙂
This book was a cute, short romance with a light enemies to lovers trope. The Sheikh and Sara butt heads throughout the book, have a steamy encounter that results in a baby! The banter between the Sheikh and Sara is cute. I like the friendship between Sara and Fiddah.
I wish we could have seen more of their post married life as well as life after baby.
Overall a solid romance.
This is a very quick read, which makes the plot flow quickly on both the pregnancy and the love story between the two protagonists.
This is a very fast read so I'll keep this short. Sara is excited to get a job as an assistant for an oil executive. She can't wait to learn about the business, but she also has a lot to learn about her new home in the Middle East. Tariq does not have time for silly women who he thinks are crass, but he can't keep him mind from wandering to Sara. The two of them end up having adult activities one night after another very long day at the office. As the story title suggests, she gets pregnant. And the they find their happily ever after.
What I liked was that Sara was smart and a hard worker. I liked that Tariq was a truly serious guy but he found joy with Sara. This might be a little SPOILER but the author actually lets the couple have nine months to figure out that they are in love and to commit to each other. I really liked that. I thought the tension with Tariq's mother was a throw away and could have been skipped. I also felt like this story could have been beefed up a bit to give it a little more of an emotional punch. I will read more from this author in the future.
I liked this book. Too short for the time of the pregnancy and their relationship but still worth the read
Sara is fresh out of college and in a new country about to start a dream job, as Amir’s assistant. Amir is super sweet and easy to get along with but his brother, Tariq is a completely different story. Tariq instantly dislikes Sara and they butt heads constantly. One night they were working late and it led to an argument that then led to them finally showing their true feelings. They have a lot of surprises ahead of them. Will they make it through without constantly arguing?
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me an e-arc
I just didn't feel the connection between the main characters and felt like they only got together because she got pregnant and a lot was left unanswered, like, did she have a family back in London??? Who moves to another part of the world hoping to be employed like what if she didn't get the job what would she have done and Tariq total aashole mxxxm
Thank you to Netgalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book was short but sweet. I absolutely ADORE Sara and the way she gives Tariq constant attitude gives me life. But also Tariq is grumpy except for when it comes to Sara. When he bought her clothes and helped her understand the modesty law 🥹
I WISH the last 50% of this book was more developed though. Once she got pregnant it was kind of like, bingbangboom the end. I wanted to see them fall in love not just get a proposal at the end with nothing to really go off of except sex.
Still, I’m addicted to this series and will be reading the other three books as they re-release in June. 🤗
This was such a cute love story. I had the chance to read it thanks to NetGallery and Leslie North.
This was my first reading a story that is happening in Arabic country and it was a funny ride.
What I liked about the story? Sarah and Tariq's chemistry was buzzling. The way they interact each other was amazing. I love their enemies to lovers vibes. Tariq's brother, Amir, was such cutie. I need to read his story, haha.
I also loved Sarah and Tariq's grandma friendship. I love how she was there to support Sarah.
People tented to hate pregnancy as trope but I love this trope so much. So I enjoy how the trope was done.
What I dislike about the story? I felt like it was story. I needed more of them. You can take that as good sign that I really enjoyed it.
This is was my honest review. I can't wait to read more about her works. ♡
This book is a cute and entertaining story. The characters are wonderful and the storyline is great. I enjoyed reading this. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't stop reading until I was done. Highly recommend reading this.
This is the first book i have read of this author, and let’s be honest i have not read a lot of this type of book for a long time and I’m glad i stepped back in.
I love the premise of these type of books the good old love hate relationships that i fell in love with from first reading Pride and Prejudice and still enjoy today.
It is a short book and when i had finished i wished it to have been a little longer with more arguments and fiery love scenes.
I will read this writer again and look forward to completing this series.
Thank you to the Author, publisher and Netgalley for a advanced copy.
Brilliant story! Couldn’t put it down and finished it in 1 day. Very easy to read and the story keeps you hooked.
Leslie North's "Sheikh's Accidental Pregnancy" attempts to weave a tale of fiery attraction between polar opposites – Sarah, an unladylike, independent woman, and Tariq, the traditional, stern CEO of Botros Oil Company.
The characters seem to hold potential; Sarah's stubborn independence and Tariq's steadfast traditions make for an interesting dynamic. However, this potential seems largely untapped. The premise of an unexpected pregnancy forcing them to come to terms with their feelings could have given room for emotional growth and a fascinating exploration of cultural clashes.
North's usually enjoyable storytelling style seems to have missed the mark, with the pacing coming off too rapid, leading to a disorienting reading experience. Sarah and Tariq's connection often comes across as abrupt and unconvincing, mainly because the narrative tends to tell rather than show their interactions. The story needed more development and depth in the characters.
In terms of cultural context, the book could have been strengthened with more research into the norms and customs of the setting. As a reader who usually enjoys suspending disbelief for a romance, I found it hard to do so for this story due to the narrative's inability to effectively reconcile the plot with the realities of the Middle Eastern setting.
On the positive side, North's trademark humor shines through at moments, and some scenes spark interest. Including Amir, Tariq's younger, more laid-back brother, adds an exciting dynamic to the narrative. Still, the potential for tension and drama remains largely unexplored.
The Sheikh's Accidental Pregnancy is a quick and easy read; it could greatly benefit from more character development, a deeper dive into cultural norms, and a more immersive narrative style. Fans of North's other works might find this one a bit off the beaten path. Sheik stories might not be everyone's cup of tea, including mine, but North's talent as a writer remains undisputed. Therefore, I rate this book three stars, hoping for stronger execution in her future works. Thanks to NetGalley, Leslie North, and the publisher for the free e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
