This is a good book. The two main characters are Drake and Easton. There is an instant attraction. They meet when they both use usernames to sign up to hooked a dating app. . Drake is a graduate student who has a part time coding job. Easton is co owner of the dating app. They date a little. Drake has so much changing in her life that she disappears on Easton. Several years later she applies for a job at Hooked. She gets the job. They realize who they both are and fall in love.
This book was HOT. Like steaming hot. This is a workplace second-chance woman in stem book that is divided into two parts, a few years in the past and then a jump to the present. There is some fun back and forth in this book and is overall a really fun time!
I couldn’t finish this, I couldn’t particularly get into it. Perhaps it may a book I will pick up again to finish in the future.
Marni’s back with a hot new series called Hooked! It’s a spin-off from the Dalton Family series and features the founders of the Hooked app!
Easton Jones is one of the three founders of a hookup app called Hooked. He is a member himself and is the face behind the username “BostonLifer.” He matches 100% (which is very rare) with a woman named “SaarasLove” (aka Love) and they begin chatting via the app and over the phone. Easton isn’t one for relationships but there’s something about “Love” that he can’t resist. They decide to meet up at Hooked’s masquerade launch party and they end up hooking up. Love soon ghosts him after that.
Drake Madden is grieving the loss of her mother and is looking for a fresh start. Plans were already in the works for her to move to Palo Alto and to start working for a big software company. What wasn’t part of the plan was meeting Easton with whom she has a strong connection with. Drake is then faced with the ultimate dilemma; does she stay to see where this relationship with Easton goes? Or does she stick with her original plan and move to CA? Suffice it say, she ends up moving to CA.
Fast forward five and a half years; Hooked is looking for a new Director of App Development and Engineering and Drake (aka Love) is one of the top candidates. When Drake goes to Hooked to interview for the position, Easton seems so familiar to her and vice versa. They both still remember the other person they pined for years ago. However, since they met at a masquerade party, they have no idea what each other looked like.
The attraction is obviously there, and Drake and Easton start dating for real. Imagine Drake’s surprise when she figures out why Easton seems so familiar…
I thought this was a great second chance romance! It was more plot driven, but if you know Marni, she’s still going to include plenty of spice! If office romances or boss / employee romances are your jam, then I think you’ll really enjoy the book! 4⭐️
Thank you so much, NetGalley, Marni Mann, and @valentine_pr_, for providing me with an eARC in exchange for my honest review!💕

Even though I'm not a huge fan of the Tinder/Hook-up feel of my generation, I am a fan of Marni Mann, so I gave this story a try anyway. It started out exactly as I expected, hook-up culture making these boys millionaires in no time, but thankfully, it quickly grew from there.
Despite designing an app strictly about finding a warm body for a night, app owner/designer Easton matches with a date at 100%. Intrigued at this statistical improbability, he reaches out and quickly learns that fate doesn't follow the rules.
Initially known only by their usernames, SaarasLove and BostonLifer experience a once in a lifetime connection, but life gets in the way and "Love" disappears for 5 long years. When she reappears, it's unexpected and incredible. The couple is great together and the cast of characters help fill the story out. (I adore Saara!) I really appreciated that despite an unexpected obstacle, there was no 3rd act break-up!
Great story.

Very hot and steamy, loved the characters, their chemistry was bang on. The side characters were not to be missed. The plot was good, didn't see it coming. Totally recommended.
Mr. Hook Up is the 1st book in the Hooked Series, and it did not disappoint.
Man, from the beginning Marni hooked me. The story line was sassy, fun, flirty, with a lot of push, pull, banter, and had me flipping the pages so fast to see how it ended.
Easton and his friends designed a dating app, Hooked. But, jokes on him when he matches with the perfect woman. After an initial steamy meet up, various sassy and steamy text messages, plot twist she disappears.
After 5 years fate would have its away. What happens when the one person who had hooked you returns? The roller coaster ride we see these two ride on was one I didn’t want to get off of. But, I can I just say that Easton in my eyes is the perfect alpha cinnamon roll. And, Drake is one fierce, independent and loyal heroine. Loved seeing the supporting characters banter, friendships, and just full loving support. Great read! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
This was very not a closed door romance, or a sweet story of falling in love. Instead it was insta love, ghosting, insta love. It was a quick read and definitely a ton of chemistry between the characters but I feel like I know nothing about them. It is not a bad read, it just doesn’t go much into the characters, their backstories and their lives outside of each other and work.
It's an app meant for hookups. When Mr. Boston and Saaraslove match at 100% could it be more than just a hook-up? Will Easton aka Mr. Boston ever get over his Love?
Drake is back in Boston and her new boss is really familiar. Could it be her Mr. Boston?
Loved this book!
I could not get into this book and it took me forever to finish. The story was very overwhelming, it was awkward, cringy.
A really fun and gorgeous read with a delicious premise and charming characters. I would highly recommend.
I got hooked on this book!!!! Easton has my heart omg!!! It's an addicting read!
I will definitely check Marni's backlog!
Marnie Mann is now one of my favorite authors. Mr. hook up is so delicious and I loved the billionaire romance trope with second romance. The characters are awesome and I can’t wait to see what the next book brings in the series 5 stars.
It's diabolical love story that messes with the characters and readers' mind upto the point of acute heartache. Marni delves into a second chance romance with her usual hot and heavy, masked rendezvous in the first half of the book. She certainly left us panting for more...much like Easton.
He built a dating app with his friends and miraculously is matched at 100% with SaraasLove or LOVE
What starts online, soon engulphs them in a fiery passionate tryst and that shakes up their world.
But one day it's complete blackout.
She vanishes...
He's broken hearted 😢
5 years pass before Easton gets to sense thet his employee Drake is not who she is....his heart tells him, he's felt the vibe before....
It's intriguing but easily guessable. So no great mystery or twist there.
Marni plays expertly with lust and chemistry like a pro.
4 stars for 15 minutes that changed lives
3.4/5 stars
2.5/5 peppers
I normally obsessed over Marni's books but this one didn't hit the spot. Even though there was a forced proximity component I didn't feel any tension. € In the first 30% I felt the characters emotions but shortly after the story hit a lull which made it hard to stay engaged and finish the book. Overall I don't regret reading this book, supporting characters were introduced that have potential to be the MCs in upcoming books that I'd be interested to read.
Tropes: workplace, second chance, billionaire
Marni Mann knows how to write hot, dirty talking male characters like nobody else. Easton Jones and his friends have created a dating app, while testing it out, Easton and another user match 100%
I do not want to give anything away. I will say this book is divided into two parts, the second part being 5 years later. I really enjoyed this book and I cannot wait to read the next one when it comes out!
I wasn’t sure what to expect going into a romance book about online dating because it’s not my favorite thing in real life, but the book surprised me. The first part of the book is told from Mr. Boston’s POV and it’s a lot of calls and texting with Love. In the second half of the book, you get a dual POV with Easton and Drake. It gives workplace romance, forbidden love, second chance romance. I love to see a badass powerful female who owns her field in tech, but also goes weak for her man.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Talk about some serious heat between Drake and Easton... Wow just wow they have this incredible chemistry together... Second chance love, employee /employer, office romance, secret love...
An amazing new series that starts off with an amazingly sexy story of a connection that was never expected. Easton. The brain child of a new app Easton crates a way to match with your ideal making it easier to find a compatible hook-up. What he never expected was to find his one.
Drake a woman studying and working towards her dream job, joins this new app, Hook-up and matches 100% with her ideal. They meet and spend one night together and countless hours texting and talking to them say good bye.
This boom takes us through a span of time while they grow and find where they belong in the world only to find that fate was always going to bro g them back.
An interesting second chance romance that was not only steamy to read it pulled my heart strings all while I fell for the three friends that are more like brothers. I can’t wait to read what is next.

Me when Marni writes another sex god = 🫠🧎🏻♀️🥵🔥
I loved the anonymity between the two main characters in the beginning of the story! It was so fun, even though it kinda crushed me how they just never seemed to be in the same place at the same time.
The way Easton never got over her had me 🥹🥹
The relationship between drake & Easton was just so easy and fun and familiar. Loved that they were supportive of each other & how Easton was all in from the beginning. 🥲
And like in all of Marni’s books, the spice was amazzzzzzing. I couldn’t get enough and was thirsty for more. 🥵🥵
