Once again, Andy finds himself needing to defend an accused murderer - this time a fellow dog lover and former gang member. It's almost Christmas and the case is complicated. Plus if he fails, they may have 2 more dogs in their house. Wonderful.

David Rosenfelt is back in the swing of things with 'Twas the Bite Before Christmas, after the disappointing Flop-Dead Gorgeous. Glad to have you back, David.

David Rosenfelt keeps on writing the most fun crime novels (and of course with dogs!) I've ever read! His humor is refreshing, his characters are so lovable you want to be friends with all of them & adopt all of the dogs! This book once again features Andy Carpenter's "crime team" and the ending is a big surprise! I always look forward to reading an advanced copy of Rosenfelt's books.

David Rosenfelt continues to spoil us with gems each holiday season. 'Twas the Bite Before Christmas is the latest example of an 'Andy Carpenter' gift that keeps on giving. The gang is all here (except for Edna who is on her neverending engagement tour) and in fine form. At this point in the series, we've come to expect the wit and charm which Rosenfelt always delivers. The mysteries continue to be engaging as he once more casts a wide net in terms of plot and bad guys. Is the new client a relapsed gang member or a hapless victim of criminal masterminds? That's what Andy Carpenter and friends have to find out before the jury reaches their verdict. You'll enjoy the journey. I know I did. This series is always a quick read because the books are fun and you can't put them down. 'Twas the Bite Before Christmas is no exception. Thank you to St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books, & NetGalley for the advance reading copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Andy Carpenter, the hero of the latest David Rosenfelt novel, is a retired lawyer who is, once again, roped into the defense of an acquaintance in another seemingly hopeless court case due to his love of our four footed, furry friends. All of the characters we have come to know are present as is Andy’s caustic wit, humor and sarcasm. The adventure is fast paced, intriguing, extremely entertaining and kept me awake all night reading.
The book is recommended for all readers familiar with this series as well as for newcomers as a stand alone mystery. I thank NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read and review this book prior to publication.

I always say the same things about David Rosenfelt’s books. They are fun, exciting, easy reads that make me smile, laugh, and go somewhere enjoyable during the story.

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read this engaging ARC.

Serving eggnog at a Christmas party isn't one of Andy's favorite things to do...apparently he'd rather be working on a murder case, since that is what he ends up doing instead. He can't quite believe that one of the adopters from the Tara Foundation is a murderer and he takes the case on. This means the whole gang is spending Christmas and the New Year trying to dig up clues as to who would set the man up and why. The team will stop at nothing, other than a pizza or a basketball game, to solve the case and clear the man's name. But can they get the details they need and prove that their client was set up and is not in fact the murderer before the killer strikes again?

I can never get enough of Tara and the gang! It's always a taste of home for this Jersey girl! The snarkiness that Andy displays is a true side of us Jersey folks...we serve it as a side to everything and it never gets old. I hope this series never ends, because someone has to keep the kibble paid for and solve the mysteries!

I love Andy Carpenter, I mean I Really love Andy Carpenter, but…it’s time for a new formula in the stories. The concept of the good guy is being framed and incriminating evidence was obviously planted on him/her has been done and redone. It"s time for a true crime novel where the clues are a slow build-up and the police have a larger role in uncovering the evidence instead of “wham.” It’s been planted. It"s also time for a guilty verdict with maybe follow-up bad karma to the client. Regardless, as with all of David Rosenfelt"s works, “Twas the Night Before Christmas “ was filled with the antics of our favorite characters as they worked together through the holiday season to find the true criminals who set-up Andy"s dog loving client. The prose is witty and laugh out loud funny at times. I still hear Grover Gardner (the audiobook narrator’s) voice ) even when reading the kindle version. This is not a bad thing by any means. I"m sure I will get the audiobook version when it comes out. It’s always a pleasure to settle down with Andy, Laurie, Sam, and of course, Marcus. A pleasurable afternoon read for all!

Thank you for opportunity to preview ‘Twas the Bite Before Christmas. Andy Carpenter is back. A fast mouthed attorney with a sense of humor, love for dogs, and a lawyer who hates new cases.
A man accused of murder is charged while attending a fund raiser at Andy’s foundation
He says he is innocent and Andy takes the case.
Andy and the returning cast of characters are determined to help win a case that is stacked against them.
Quick read and fans of this series will not be disappointed!
Another hit for Rosenfelt.

I enjoyed this book. It like the others in the series has a unique perspective has it goes thru the trial and the evidence is discovered on the fly. It does get a bit roundabout in the investigating. I did suspect who told where Bobby was to the mob so I got that part right. #TwastheBiteBeforeChristmas #NetGalley

Andy Carpenter, the lead character in this series of books, is at it again,..

For a man who has tried to give up law but finds himself helping those he believes to be innocent and this story is about one more time.

Carpenter is a huge part of a dog foundation that rescues all kinds of dogs. One of the men who has been quite involved is arrested and charged with murder. Turns out he has been using a false identity as he is in the witness protection agency.

Carpenter takes the case, and takes in the man's two dogs. That makes for a house full of dogs, lots of love, and the solving of a mystery.

Rosenfelt's books always hit the spot.

Andy is back again, with his snark and wit solving another case. As a lawyer, he has a lot of help, including ex-cops and such that are able to do leg work for him. A touch of mafia, a touch of drugs, a touch of murder all lead to a well written story that was hard to put down. Highly recommend this book, series and author.

This was another great Andy Carpenter mystery! Every book in this series has been a hit – I don’t know any other author that has that kind of track record with me.

You’re able to read this as a stand-alone as the mystery is self-contained. I would recommend ALL the books in the series though as they’re such great reads!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from St. Martin’s Press through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my own. Thank you, St. Martin’s Press!
