Book 110 of 300 ~ 2024
🌟🌟🌟
It's quirky, weird, and yet still has a lesson for the reader to learn.
I am intrigued.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This was interesting, I don't think I was ready for where this book was going. I think it did a good job of showing behaviors and how wine ghost descended. The art was good. All in all a 3 out of 5 for me
This is a cute graphic novel about solidarity and recognizing toxic behavior. The description of the book leads you to believe this will be focused on Wine Ghost as a train wreck, as a mess. Coffey uses this judgment to flip what you assume on its head. The art style is charming and the designs of Wine Ghost and her friends are wonderfully unique.
I do think this book is too short for the story it wants to tell. It feels like it's rushing to the major plot points without giving us time to absorb. I would have liked more foreshadowing, a bit more worldbuilding, but overall I enjoyed my time reading Wine Ghost.
So I think the description was a little misleading for this novel. Honestly it felt like a wild confusing trip for a bit and then delved into some deeper themes about manipulation that made the earlier parts make sense. I think the lesson was good, albeit abrupt, but wish the description lined up better with what the story is actually about and wish it flowed just a bit nicer. Overall 3 stars.
Definitely for a mature audience.
**Disclaimer: I recieved a free eARC of this through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this opportunity. This was a quick little read, but I did have some fun with it. The art style was slightly quirky, but it really added to the uniqueness of the story. You can tell that the artist/illustrator had a lot of fun with it. I also enjoyed the storyline. It had a pretty good message about not letting people take advantage of you. Overall, not my fave, but it was a solid good time.
Wine Ghost Goes to Hell was SO WEIRD but in the best way! I really loved this one and found myself laughing out loud. I knew it would be funny based on the synopsis but I did not expect it to be so weird. Definitely super unique!
