A little boy and his grandfather make 100 chapatis while they wait for the news of the birth of their new sibling.  Although the little boy, Simon, doesn't like the idea of welcoming his new sibling, his mind gets distracted by making chapatis with his loving grandpa, and eventually, lighten up to accept the new member into the family.
The story is filled with marvelous illustration and expressive language. The book teaches about the patience and the overcoming anxiety (over changes) in a simple way.

A sweet book about making chapatis while waiting for a younger sibling to be born. This book highlights the sweet relationship between a boy and his grandfather and some of the angst and uncertainty that comes with waiting for a younger sibling. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this eARC.

100 Chapatis is about a boy who's waiting for his sibling to be born and feeling unsure about it. To help pass the time he and his grandfather make chapatis and talk. I loved this sweet tradition and the bond between boy and grandfather.

I loved how much of a comfort read this was while also addressing a kid’s anxiety about having a younger sibling. What better way to relieve your worries than by cooking your favorite food with your beloved grandpa.

A boy makes a hundred chapatis with his grandfather to pass the time as he waits for his new baby sibling. A cute book!

The art in this book is so unique and wonderful. I loved the idea of measuring the concept of time with something other than hours, but with something a young child might better understand, like how long it takes to make Chapatis.
