This book would have gotten a hard yes out of me if it wasn’t for the amount of fanservice involving a gynoid’s buttcheeks. Ignoring the egregious fanservice, the story is quite heartwarming. It depicts robots in an interesting way, showing them as both serving and trying to understand humanity. Anything that reminds me of Data from Star Trek is going to get a positive review from me. I really liked the main characters and was quite curious about the world. I definitely am interested in picking up the second volume.

I absolutely love the art style and this world is very interesting. I’m excited to see where it goes! Chrome is simultaneously adorable and super cool! Can’t wait for the next volume!

Heart Gear has some good story bones to work with. I was already drawn in by the premise of a little girl raised by a loving found-family of robots. Now we're going on a journey in a post-war world with her newly handsome bodyguard to try to rebuild her beloved (robotic) uncle's body? I'm down! Tone wise, it's dark, but also fairly kid friendly. It's an interesting mix that reminds me of series like Mega Man or Astro Boy. I want to see where it goes.

I really liked this manga, though there was a bit of totally gratuitous (and a bit off-tone) fan service that was mildly irritating (per usual in a lot of shonen/seinen, I suppose). There are elements of Murderbot here, for those who are more familiar with contemporary US sci-fi, and even a smidge of 'Prayer for the Wild Built,' but I'm not sure how the plot is going to develop.
