Solid 4! It was a wild but fun ride. I like the characterization and pacing in this book, I was invested in the end game!
Some of the dialogue and adult scenes were cringe and at one point the plot was a little convoluted but I was able to dove back in and just enjoy it.
Overall definitely worth picking up!
Well, this was just amazing.
After getting approved to review this book I downloaded the galley and went right into it. I did not come up for air in between and finished the entire book in an afternoon!
When Eva discovers her husband is cheating on her on her wedding day, she starts plotting a way to get revenge on him. When Ethan confesses he'd like to help, a plot is born: a revenge affair! But can they make it work without falling for each other?
I loved the way Eva and Ethan were portrayed as complete opposites. Eva being the planner-obsessed, wants-everything-on-a-schedule character and Ethan being the freewheeling, let's-see-how-the-evening-goes character. And we all know that opposites attract! They seem to be hating (though even that seems to harsh a term) each other at the beginning of the book but slowly grow closer together as Eva starts to plot her revenge.
Through the comfortably written dual POV we learn how both Eva and Ethan are experiencing their revenge plot, what motivates them both and how soon either of them are catching feelings. And it's great! I wouldn't say I'd immediately choose an affair to get revenge, but in the book it 100% works!
And I haven't even mentioned the spice! The book carries a very entertaining plot, but if you're only here for the smut (and I wouldn't blame you), you won't be disappointed!
All in all, an amazing read and I can't wait to discover any other books by this author!
Thanks to netgalley and publisher for this arc!
Eva finds out her soon to be husband cheated on her right before she walked down the aisle to marry him. His best friend found out he slept with his ex girlfriend the week before the wedding. We read these two enemies become revenge pact partners then lovers.
I liked the spice in this book. It was a quick read, I read it basically in a day. However, I feel like the story was very repetitive. It also didn’t make sense to me that things took an immediate 180 the moment they started having sex, there was never a friendship really formed before hand. It was almost like hatred, sex, then boom. They’re in love. It was a little whiplash like. This book also needs to be proofread one more time.
Thanks to netgalley and publisher for this arc!
Absolutely enjoyed this book so much more than I even anticipated! The chemistry was off the chartsssss, loved the plot, & the couple was so hot and amazing together! I could read more of these two together and was sad when the book ended. I didn't love how she went about her final revenge though that didn't mesh well for me that was my only gripe of book. Joe and Ashley were pure hot garbage and honestly wished they got worse than they did, they got off too easy in my eyes!
Good storyline, quick and fun read. However, it really threw me off when these 2 smashed and started calling each other baby like there was no affection at before and just having that thrown was just weird.
Thanks NetGalley for the eARC.
LICH RALLY better than revenge by miss swift encapsulated in book form
this was so much fun! the hijinks they got up to was a hoot to read about and the steam delivered 🤭 (although it could be a bit cringey at times but i digress). 100% recommend checking this one out
What would you do if you found out your husband was cheating on you with his ex girlfriend and he's putting everything you love in your jeopardy? If you're Eva Hart, you make a plan to get revenge!!
I loved the premise of this book.- trying to get revenge on someone who is ruining your life, and I am here for it. I usually don't like books with cheating as a plot point, but this book grabbed my attention from the very beginning.
It's dual POV, steamy, enemies to lovers, and a revenge pact all wrapped up into one hot, spicy romance!
When Eva finds out that her husband, Joe, is cheating on her, she seeks help from his best friend, Ethan. Ethan has never been a fan of Eva, but he joins in on the revenge pact because Joe has hurt him too. Now that they are teamed up together, they decide to have a revenge affair... with each other.
Eva and Ethan's chemistry is off the charts! I loved the role play elements and how feelings grew between them. Hate turned into passion, and their revenge pact was amazing!
Thanks to NetGalley and Victory Editing for an ARC of 'The Revenge Pact'.
I really enjoyed the story and I believed in the characters - their responses to things made sense for the most part. I also really liked most of the side characters, they were fleshed out enough to be believable without taking away from the rest of the story.
I thought Joe and Ashley became a little cartoonish and evil for the sake of it towards the end, although I completely accept that some people are like this in real life. I also thought that some of the sex was risky for no reason - why were multiple characters having sex in a hospital and how did they get away with it? But this wasn't a big enough thing to take away from the story, not everything has to be 100% realistic!
The only real issue I had with the book was continuity - at the beginning, Rachel calls Ethan and no one makes anything of it, and then later she calls him and he mentions that he doesn't know how she has his number. There was also a thing with ages - Ethan mentions that his dad is 47, then a few chapters later explains that his sister is around 40. This could be a typo and the dad is meant to be 67, or it's just a small thing but it really took me out!
Wooow (*fans self*) this book is hot and spicy! Brooke Stanton wastes no time getting right into the action. Eva and Ethan have electric chemistry and you can feel their desires through the page. This is the perfect book for a quick escape into another world of tension, wanting, anger, and love. The plot is mostly background between the moments of Eva and Ethan’s connection, but it’s not always clear why they hated each other or how exactly they started to fall for each other. While reading, it sometimes felt like the story was moving a little too fast, and I wished it could have burned a little slower.
Many thanks to Net Galley and Victory Editing for an ARC of The Revenge Pact by Brooke Stanton.
This book is amazing! I devoured it. Such a great plot and great character. I will definitely be revisiting this author.
I couldn't put it down. I loved the well rounded characters and the premise of a revenge pact was intriguing. What ever could go wrong when you play with feelings like that? And, to my surprise, the plan blowing up in their faces was tastefully and logically managed.
There were some tropes that I personally don't care for, but, in this book, they didn't bother me as much. Ethan's self-built millionaire persona was believable and consistent with his character. The role-playing had just enough fun scattered around it that it didn't deter me from enjoying the book.
This was my first book from Brooke Stanton, but it will definitely not be my last.
Special thanks to #NetGalley for the ARC
wow, there’s a lot going on in this book! for such a quick read, there was infidelity, a wedding, revenge, thievery, emergency room visit, more revenge, heartbreak, romance, & some wild characters to round it all up! I loved this story— I love a good revenge story, so even though the cheating and lying was terrible, it was clearly the reason for the revenge plot that set the whole story in motion.
I really felt bad for Eva as she navigates the downfall of her relationship with Joe— who is King Asshole— because she didn’t show love & affection the way Joe and even Ethan expected her too. seriously f*ck that because we all have our own ways of showing affection & Eva has actual trauma that shaped her ways of living.
Ethan really proved himself in this book to me, coming up from annoying asshole to committed frenemy, friend, revenge partner, and eventual lover. I loved how Eva & Ethan so clearly fit together from the start then built a feisty & loving relationship
just a great, fun, intriguing story with some questionable morals (but not accepting cruel behavior) that kept it exciting :)
thank you for the ARC!!!
3.5⭐️ 3🌶
This was a cute fun read from Brooke Stanton. Eva finds out that Joe is cheating on her on the day of their wedding, but can't leave him because she would lose her visa. She embarks on a journey of revenge, alongside Joe's best friend Ethan, with some hilarious results 🕷 and a happy ever after 🩷<3
You find out husbands cheating on you but you can’t leave him without putting your entire future in jeopardy, What do you do? Obviously you form a pact with his best friend, who you hate because he also hates your husband to get revenge, If it all goes to plan it will be simple but things aren’t always that easy, especially when your revenge pact turns into something more.
Once i started i was hooked and i couldn’t stop reading, the plot was so interesting and intriguing it had you not wanting to look away from the page because you were so excited to see what’s coming next.
The two mcs were so just so much fun to read about Eva was such a strong and relatable character to read about and Ethan was the so sweet from the very beginning, even if Eva didn’t think so. So between Eva’s fiery attitude and Ethan’s teddy bear shirts i was in love.
The banter between the two of them was so good and fun to read and the steamy scenes between the two of them were 🌶️🌶️🌶️
This was such a fun and quick read, and i will definitely be reading more of Brooke Stanton’s work.

In the wise words of Ms. Taylor Swift, there is nothing I do better than revenge so I was very excited to read this rom-com! I absolutely loved the premise and the fact that, as a reader, you’re basically thrown into the inciting incident. When Eva finds out her fiance (who she’d actually already eloped with) was cheating on her the morning of their wedding, she begins to make a plan and who is better to drag in than the man her husband also wronged (aka, his best friend)? I got into it very quickly and didn’t want to put it down; I couldn’t wait to see Joe get his karma and he definitely did.
As a type A girl who loves lists and spreadsheets and plans, Eva was super relatable. She felt very realistically flawed but I couldn’t help but root for her and her relationship with Ethan from the very start. Ugh—I loved that man and how his character developed from before the start of the book to where they ended up! Lastly, I loved Rachel and I hope there’s a follow up novel with her and Eva’s boss because that feels so right and I know I’d devour it! My only complaint was that some of the descriptions and dirty-talk during the spicy scenes felt a little too comical; like, sometimes the heat was totally doused but it wasn’t that way for all of the spicy scenes so I’m not sure how I feel about that!

This book was so fun. Brooke Stanton really knows how to write a fun drama filled romance. The characters were so fun, and I loved all the drama filled twists and turns.
