I've learned quite a bit about the chakras previously, but this was a nice little way to focus on just one at a time! The first half delves into every aspect of the first chakra in a lot of detail, and pushed my mind to consider aspects I hadn't before. The second half includes contributions from different practitioners that offer various ways to heal or strengthen the root chakra, and includes yoga poses, affirmations, crystals, and even food recipes. I liked that this was a well-rounded look at the topic, from different perspectives and voices.
This was extremely detailed--It not only went into the complete explanation of the 12 Chakras that I found mind blowing, all these years I only thought there were 7 Chakras! The author describe uses of stones, oils and rituals for Spiritual and Space cleansing and healing. This is the first book in the series to come. I personally did not find it a #Simplified text but it definitely was an interesting #audiobook. I am looking forward to the rest of the series. #RootChakra #NetGalley
Though only 4.5 hours long, the audiobook Root Chakra: Your First Energy Center Simplified + Applied by Cyndi Dale gives a rather comprehensive overview of the root chakra for anyone, beginner to experienced, and various ways to nurture it. With insights from various subject area experts (everything from a cardiologist to chef, aromatherapist, yoga teacher, and more), there is plenty of information and suggestions for tending to your root chakra.
I found the amount of information and practical suggestions a bit overwhelming for an audiobook. I think the information would be better digested and able to be referenced better in a more traditional print format. The topics covered are also pretty high on the woo-woo scale if someone is brand-new to the world of subtle energy practices. As such, I recommend checking out the print version of this book if you are already familiar with chakras and looking to incorporate these practices into your life more or a beginner with a very open mind.
Thank you to Tantor Audio (RB Media) and NetGalley for gifting me with an ALC to review! I enjoyed it.
