"When the right one comes along- human, fae, male, female- it doesn't matter- gender, lifespan- allegiances- you love who you love, Valen. It is the simplest thing there is. "

Keltania Tunne has spent her entire life training to be a Aphelian, a role she was taught is sacred. When she is called to be a bodyguard for the prince of the Winter Court, she doesn't expect for her presence to be unwanted and disregarded. But Tania is determined to prove her worth, and if the continuous dangers the spoiled prince seems to find himself in is any indication, her presence is needed despite his denial. But something isn't adding up and if the prince's violet eyes are any indication, than Valen is more than he seems.
Valen doesn't need or want an Aphelian by his side, especially after what happened to his last one and the secrets he is hiding. But when Talia refuses to fall victim to his wit and charm, or the nasty tricks he pulls on her, Valen reluctantly accepts her by his side. His secrets aren't the only ones in the Winter Court though. As he and Talia navigate the halls of the Winter Court and beyond, both Valen and Talia will have to decide to continue following the path they've been groomed for, or to risk everything they've ever known for the truth.

Druids and Fae, political scheming and royal intrigue, magic and mayhem, secrets and betrayal... Omen of Ice has it all making for a fun and easy read!

Having a druid as the FMC was new for me, and I looked forward to that, as I have only previously read about druid characters in historicals. However, I was a bit confused by the druid's history here, and even with the huge info dump at the end, the order never really made sense for me. I appreciated Talia's character and her take no sh*t attitude, as well as her dedication to her order. She believed in what she was doing, even after some of those views changed. Valen was a bit of a rogue and his quips of drinking and brashing while redundant, I could see them as the shield against the world that it was. I would have liked to see more of a romantic connection between these two, though I assume that will grow with further books in the series, but in this book it was very much PG and lacked any substance for me as a reader to connect with.

The world building by Jus Accardo was wonderfully done and I could easily picture the settings in my mind. All in all though Omen of Ice was just an okay read for me. I predicted the big twist early on and I found the ending to be lack luster. As I mentioned, there was a lot of info dump that unnecessarily drug it out. The book ends on a cliffhanger and I'm not sure if I want to continue reading to find out how if things work out. However, if you're looking for a YA fantasy full of adventure, this may be up your alley!

as provided an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This one wasn’t even on my radar when I stumbled upon the opportunity to read an ARC, but I am a fantasy girlie at heart and the blurb drew me in like a magnet— and can I just say looking back that it is a CRYING SHAME that I hadn’t heard of either this book OR author beforehand, because this book was an absolute BANGER, and I am O B S E S S E D.

(Entangled Publishing knows what they’re doing. Thank you for the ARC.)

Valen and Tania were EVERYTHING I didn’t even know I needed. Banter and tension at level 100. (No spice, but y’all 👀🫣)

Good world-building, a fun and compelling cast of characters-creature and otherwise- and some crazy twists that will leave you grumbling about the wait for book 2.

5 stars.

This book really brings you on a journey along with Tania and Valen, I loved the world and story that went along with Tania’s training to be Valens body guard. When you add a lawfully good Druid bodyguard and a playboy reluctant prince together, you’re going to get sparks. I loved the fast paced story line, dynamic between the main characters, the magic and the promise of more to come at the end of the book! I can’t wait to (hopefully) pick up book 2!

In this first book of a YA fantasy series, we are following Keltania. She is a druid warrior who has been training to protect her assigned winter fae. When she arrives at the Winter Court, her assignment isn't what she expected. Valen is the prince, but he is very uninterested in having her as a guard. He doesn't seem to care about much. The two begin to work together as secrets unfold and the two are forced together.

I found the premise very interesting and absolutely loved that the protector and druid was the FMC. She was strong and had a purpose. Valen had his reasons for how he behaved, but his attitude did bother me a bit. The pacing felt a little slow in sections, but that may have just been a me thing. I enjoyed the magic system and can't wait to see it expanded upon.

I enjoyed this book and will pick up the sequel to see what is in store for these two. I recommend it for anyone who enjoys YA fantasy, found family, touch him and die, and a subplot of slow burn romance.

Thank you to the author and Entangled Publishing for the advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

This is the first in a new series and while it is YA, which I sometimes struggle with, this book was good!! It had magic, intrigue, mystery and just a touch of spice. The premise of the plot was great, our FMC was the body guard for our MC and that was a new one for me. I love their banter, and a badass FMC is always a win for me. The ending had me wanting more, and even though book 2 hasn't been announced yet as far as I know, I'm ready for it!

Book Review!
Thank you Brittany at Entangled for sending me this book!
Rating: 4/5 ⭐️
This is a fun new fantasy series I would recommend to anyone who is a fan of the genre! It follows a fae and a human who have to go on a journey together because they accidentally become linked. I loved following these two characters!
I thought it was great, my only thing was that I !personally! had a hard time following the world politics. However, I feel like the second book will be an easier read for me since I’m familiar with the world now!

I enjoyed Omen Of Ice quite a bit. The story is just full of unexpected reveals. Nothing is as Ketlania and Valen believe it to be.. The differences start with the points of view of their two groups. What Tania had been taught is so different that what Valen knows. That's not unusual between two vastly different groups. As the two set out on an epic journey to resolve some problems they find that most everything they "know" is not true. The pair are fighting for their lives, attacked from all sides physically and emotionally. Through it all, they find they really care for each other. The story was complex, intense and a really good read.

Thanks to NetGalley and Entangled:Teen for the ARC.

Omen of Ice is an entertaining and easy read that is sure to delight fans of the YA fantasy genre. Magic, Fae, Druids, and other fantastical creatures abound. The two main characters are both likable and compelling in their own respect, and the side characters we meet along their journey all contribute to the overall story. There are plot twists and revelations to keep you engaged through the entire book. The romance is a slow burn and I thoroughly enjoyed the banter between Keltania and Valen. Even though I did enjoy Omen of Ice, I did feel it was a bit surface level and lacked the depth it had the potential for. I’m hoping I’ll be able to shake that feeling with the next book, which will surely satisfy my craving for more of this world, as well as the magic and characters within it. Overall, a worthwhile read!

Absolutely loved this book ! I couldn’t put it down, badass lead female! Dual POV, YA fantasy. It’s a must read and I cannot wait for the next book to come out.

This was a fun easy fantasy romance read. The plot was entertaining and the characters were interesting.

I did find the developing romance to be a little clunky and it didn’t really hook me. I also didn’t find myself connected to the relationship the author tried to portray, and to be honest the MMC was kind of insufferable.

The plot twists are fun but very predictable and it told a similar story to a lot of existing popular fantasy romance reads.

I still enjoyed it but just wasn’t one of my favorites 🙂

What a wonderful easy read this book was!! The banter was so good, it reeled me in and I couldn’t put it down! The story line is also unique compared to other fae books I’ve read! Lots of twists and turns! Loved it!!

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read! This is a great fictional romance. If you’re looking for adventure, action, comedy, and some romance this is for you. This definitely felt like a young adult book to me. There’s a handful of swearing (a few F-bombs) and some gruesome fights, but only a few steamy kisses… enough to make you fall in love with the couple. I enjoyed the story line and the plot twists (there were an absurd amount of twists) but it kept the book interesting.

I like the dynamic between Keltania and Valen. They grow together and it’s sweet to see their connection grow.

The ending definitely leaves us wanting more! I hope to read the sequel soon!

I instantly got hooked and couldn't put it down. I loved the story and how it developed. I loved Tania and Valen. I did think there was a lot of information at the very end but I'm ok with that. I will most definitely read the next book.

I loved this book! The banter between the characters was funny, realistic and believable, the world building and character growth were done with enough detail to give you great imagery and emotional understanding but not so much that it took away from the story, and the storyline was unique and original. I loved the FMC the most. She was strong, smart, determined, funny and her relationship with the MMC was probably one of my favorites of the year so far.

I can’t get over how good this book was! I was completely engrossed in the story and didn’t want the book to end.

This YA fantasy had everything I love including mystery, magic, action, and a little romance. Keltania has spent her entire life training to be the guardian of the Winter Fae. Unfortunately, when she finally meets her charge, Valen, the crown prince of the Winter Court, nothing is as she expected. She quickly realized that everyone is hiding something making her job difficult.

The banter between Tania and Valen is so incredible, I constantly had a smile on my face as I was reading. I really loved both their characters and how they each grew as the story progressed. I also can’t stress this enough, but neither of them was annoying, which I find is often the case in YA novels (especially the FMC). But I truly loved them both and couldn’t get enough, especially as their relationship started to evolved into something a little more sweet and romantic (but no spice).

There were so many twists and developments that I did not see coming. I can’t wait for the next book in the series to be released because I need to know what happens next.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, what a fantastic YA adventure. We have fae, Druid’s, magic, fighting, snark, and a slow burn romance that is both delicate and adorable. Keltania has been trained her whole life to be an Aphelian, or a Druid with powers to protect Royal fae. Valen is her charge and she soon discovers there’s more to him than his good looks, charm, and mayhem.

So many little twists and turns! Just when you think you’ve figured something out, a new surprise pops up. I really liked how the plot built. We weren’t just given a buttload of information, but instead, the secrets were gradually woven into the story. Bravo!

The writing was a bit flat. Nothing about the writing screamed “unique” but the plot was well-paced and kept me interested so that’s not a bad thing. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I can’t wait for more! The ending was a bit wrapped up nicely, which is strange for the genre, but it was also a refreshing change. This was my first read from Jus and I’m eager to read more.

Fast pace, easy to read, and a page turner.
Omen of Ice is a story of generational correction.
Because of a druid and fae pair, the natural world destruction sped up.
Druids lost their magic and most of the supernatural world began living in harsh condition.

Many hundreds later, Keltania, has completed her training to guard her assigned fae.
Little does she know she got assigned to the Prince of the Winter Fae, Valen.
Valen doesn't want another protector. He doesn't want to develop feeling for this druid.
Snippy fun bantering ensues throughout this novel. I love how Tania kept her coolness throughout the story.

The plot twist was interesting. I love the magic life that gravitated towards Tania.
The ending left in a subtle cliffhanger. A new adventure for sure.

A good read that doesn't paint fae in a good light.
Fae in the past are known to be evil, greedy, and lazy.

Great flow and pose. Would recommend!
Entangled Publishing and Red tower are rocking it lately!

Omen of Ice is an engrossing YA fantasy romance that took us on quite an adventure, and I was hooked from the start and couldn't put it down.

Keltania and Valen were wonderful characters. As part of the royal family of the Fae Winter court, Valen needed protection, and Keltania, one of the few druids left, was sent to guard him.

The back and forth banter between them throughout the story had me highly entertained. They were complete opposites but balanced each other out perfectly. Although there was no spice in the novel, I enjoyed the building tension and chemistry between them.

The world building was creative and I thought the character development was well done.

The story was well paced and told in dual POV, and I loved that we got the folklore/history of what happened in the past. There were so many unexpected twists and turns, I was frantically turning the pages to know more.

This was a great start to the series but after all the build up, I felt the ending was rushed although I will admit the twist did leave me shocked.

This was a new to me author whose story telling I did enjoy and I can't wait for book 2, to find out what happens next.

I would definitely recommend this novel to fantasy lovers.

This was a fun read. I enjoyed the story & characters well enough (who doesn’t love a headstrong FMC?), but felt like there was just something missing.

I look forward to seeing how the author develops the storyline in the next book!

I received an ARC for this book but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a wild ride!!!! This book had soooo many twists and turns, I couldn't stop reading it! Daroose was easily the BEST character in the whole book. <3

Both main characters were easily likable. I loved that Keltania really took her assignment to protect Valen seriously. She struggled the whole book with how she always pictured her future job would be like - once she met Valen and got to know him she learned that the world was actually so much more different than she could have imagined. Valen at first comes off as kind of a jerk but his character growth throughout the book was exactly what I wanted to see. By the 70% mark in the book I couldn't put it down. I honestly never predicted the book would end how it did - which makes it a great story because I don't want to read something cliché and predicable.

Looking back at the book cover after finishing reading it - OMG! I didn't see it's real meaning until now.

I honestly CAN NOT wait for book 2!!!
