5 stars ⭐️ Such a cute/funny story with adorable illustrations. Thank you NetGalley for this ARC. My kids really enjoyed it.
This was the cutest book! This would be a great read aloud for a classroom or a bedtime story. The illustrations are so cute!
A cute children's book about Alex, who worries a lot. One day, a drama llama appears and the more Alex gets worried, the bigger the llama becomes!
This was such a good way to introduce kids to anxiety and stress. I loved the message here, and the illustrations were very cute!
I ADORE this book. If I could give it 10 stars I would. I have a kiddo that struggles with worry and anxiety, and he happens to LOVE llamas. I can not wait to show him this book. It teaches such a sweet and important message about mental health in a fun and playful way. Every home should have this book in their library. I received a free copy of this book from netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
A sweet picture book about dealing with anxiety as a child! This one reminded me a lot of Tom Percival's "Ruby Finds A Worry," but with a fun LLAMA instead of a little worry spot. I would definitely recommend this one to patrons who enjoyed "Ruby Finds A Worry" or any books about anxiety for children in general.
This is a cute take on how worry can manifest for children and what some healthy ways to handle it are. I especially liked the tips in the back. The illustrations were cute - and I laughed when the llama really became unruly!
I had high hopes for this book and they didn’t quite meet. Some of the text felt forced and didn’t flow. I liked the idea. I just didn’t think it full met its potential. I will use it for some students who need the message.

When anxiety increases, it’s very difficult to stay calm … even for adults! This beautifully illustrated story (Ella Okstad) written by Rachel Morrisroe is the perfect tool to bridge anxiety with children. The story is charming and funny and is written in rhyming verse, perfect for the little people in your life.
This story features a little boy named Alex Allen. Alex worries … a lot. Each time he is anxious about something, a llama appears. That’s not the worst of it! The more Alex worries, the bigger the llama grows. When he discovers that his worrying is getting him into trouble, he realizes that he needs to control his emotions and stay calm. For those of us who’ve been there … that’s not an easy task. Morrisroe’s adventure with Alex and the mischievous llama is the perfect gateway to discussions surrounding children’s anxiety. It’s guaranteed to produce giggles and gasps!
Second to the wonderful illustrations, my favourite part is the ‘How To Calm A Llama’ page at the end of the book. Morrisroe has offered 5 tips to get us out of a “full blown drama llama”.
This is one of those books you’ll want to purchase to gift a little person in your life!
I was gifted this copy by SOURCEBOOKS Kids, Sourcebooks Jabberwocky and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.
