WHAT HAVE YOU DONE AMBER V. NICOLE???this might be the second book of the series, but it still grabs your attention all the same. i was pleasantly satisfied for not experiencing the second book syndrome. the story delivered! this book will take you on a turbulent ride, with flawed characters you can’t help rooting for. you know i’m crazy about the first book (the book of azrael) but here? i am crazier. there are several povs of other characters, even one you’re not really fond of. but overall it was an exciting journey. a painful one, if i may add. i thought the whole enemies to lovers thing would be wrapped up and they become boring—but no! they remained intense throughout the book. you can literally tell samkiel & dianna are made for each other. the plot is making me feel feel like my heart has been ripped out of my chest and amber v. nicole ran over it with a steamroller and the ending left me emotionally scarred and empty. there are lots of twist and you can’t even imagine how shocking and exciting was it to turn the page and find out out it was a clifthanger... (AGAIN…? somebody needs to jail this author). i’m going to visit another plane of existence when the new book is out.

thank you to the author and netgalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

WOW! What a read, what an amazing journey! The first book stole my heart from the first page and the sequel left me speechless. The protagonists are the definition of enemies to lovers and their growth as couple was absolutely incredible to watch. The book was fast paced and once I picked it up I could not stop. The author does a great job at keeping the audience entertained but I will forever hate her for the ending.

This one is stunning in how beautifully it is executed, with all the layers to the characters, the twists and turns in all its various subplots. I loved so much about it - so so so good! I will write more when my book hangover lets up. It is AMAZING!!

The Throne of Broken Gods is book 2 in the Gods & Monsters series by Amber V. Nicole.

This was really well written! Really thrilling! Really exciting! Compelling! Fun!!
It wasn't long before I was sucked in and dragged along for the ride.
I was completely immersed in the story.
From the moment I opened the first page, I was utterly engrossed in this book. My eyes were glued to the pages, and I never anticipated just how much I would come to adore this story.
Lots of detail and attention given to world building without being overly wordy or tedious. The characters are fascinating, well rounded, and likeable.
The tension in this book is captivating and infuriating.
And the damn world-building, Nicole has created a vibrant, unique world.
A stunning urban fantasy/romance that I freaking loved.
I’m jumping straight into book one as we speak.

I have not read book 1 The Book of Azrael but now I’m definitely going to be checking it out.

"I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

Thank You NetGalley and Rose & Star Publishing for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

“When I burn this world to embers, and you paint me as the villain, remember, I really did try to be good. once."

After Gabby’s death, Dianna is sent spiralling into a murderous rage, intent on burning the world in revenge for what it did to her sister.
Samkiel is trying to track down her down and prevent further bloodshed as his council calls for her head.
All the while, there are warnings of a worse evil awakening.

“You're running out of time.”

This is one of my most anticipated releases after falling love with the Book of Azrael on its release last year.

Oh man, the slow burn! I am not normally a sucker for romantasy and tend to stay away from the genre. However, Amber Nicole has me in chokehold.

“I thought Gabby was the last tether, but you are. You are her only link to whatever mortality she has left. So don't let Kaden win, no matter what she says or does. Trust me. You are the only thing she cares about now."

I appreciated that it wasn’t filled with spice my scenes and that there was a fuller concentration on the emotional recovery, relationship, and connection.
However, this did feel very drawn out at times, even as someone who isn’t here for the spice.

I have two new favourite characters. I just want to hug Xavier and Cameron and go on nights out and picnics with them. They are the ultimate bromance. Oh, and add in a bit of naive one-sided pining. My heart.
The Hand felt like such a family, and it gave me similar vibes to the Night Court in ACOTAR.

“You are about to be forbidden from spending time with Cameron. Actually, I am forbidding him from spending time with anyone. That should be enough punishment. It might actually kill him."

Diana’s grief and anger and guilt and self-punishment was so such a major theme of growth. It felt so important to see her go through the stages of denial, anger, acceptance, and self-forgiveness.

EXCUSE ME?! That end? No. No. No. Especially after the cliffhanger of the first book and now this. I am not okay.

OMG, the second book in The Book of Azrael series is mind-blowing! It takes everything from the first book and goes even deeper. The twists and reveals had me on the edge of my seat, and I couldn't get enough. We get multiple points of view. I'm totally invested in these characters and dying to know what happens next! The Throne of Broken Gods is a captivating masterpiece that tugs at your heartstrings. Dianna's journey is both heartwarming and heartbreaking, and her relationship with Samkiel is everything! The fight scenes are epic, and the world-building is intriguing. Plus, new character perspectives add depth and make it feel like a real-found family. Prepare for surprises and a jaw-dropping cliffhanger. Even though it's a chunky book, trust me, it's totally worth it. Dive into this amazing world and fall in love with the characters—you won't regret it!
