Thank you for letting me read She Says She's My Daughter. This was a fun thriller to read and it was actually my first read by this author so I am glad it was good and would read more by this author in the future. I always love a good story when someone goes missing and then they come back. So thats pretty much the case with this one. A girl goes missing from a family and then many years later someone comes back claiming to be that missing girl. Also throw in a twist and you got a good story. I love when twists are thrown into a book and then you are like WAIT WHAT?!?!

Great book. Def think people will love this one too.

The perfect family vacation soon turns to a nightmare when Abigail disappears. Now 14 years later she returns but is she really their daughter? It started off slow but really picked up midway through and nailed the ending!

A family were torn apart fourteen years ago when four year old Abigail disappeared from the beach. Michael and Sarah, her parents, were convinced that she had been abducted but Sarah still blames herself for taking her eyes off Abigail for a few seconds. Michael has never given up the search for her, even hiring private investigators, but Sarah has tried to live a normal life for the sake of their two other children. Their son Daniel was six years old at the time and so still remembers Abigail but Rebecca has no recollection as she was only a baby at the time. One day, out of the blue, a seventeen year old girl walks into a police station and claims that she is Abigail. Her story seems substantiated as she knows things that only the family would know. When she returns to the family home she is, of course, welcomed with open arms but straight away Sarah is convinced that the girl isn’t Abigail. The family want to believe that she is so Sarah plays along with it but decides to investigate the girl herself. The story is told from Sarah and Abigail’s points of view and tells how Abigail went missing and how she finds herself back home. This was one of those books that are totally addictive and I could not put it down. A very gripping and entertaining read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Secrets and lies course through this novel, it’s a roller coaster of a read that I loved from the first page. Clever and twisted!

I sadly did not get a chance to finish this book so I'm giving it 5 stars as it's not fair to penalize the author!

4.5 stars This was one gripping read! A slow burn thriller that packed a whole lot of punch at the end! I was pleasantly surprised by the numerous unexpected reveals.

When a young girl shows up at the police station one day, claiming to be Abigail Wick, the girl who was abducted 14 years ago as a toddler, the Wick family can’t believe it. They didn’t think they would ever see Abi again. Their lives were shattered the day she disappeared. However, Sarah doesn’t believe this girl is her Abi. How can she be? After all of this time? Despite Michael, her husband, Daniel and Rebecca, her two other children, convinced that this is their Abi, Sarah is scared and suspicious.

The build-up of whether or not Abigail has really returned was phenomenal. The story is told through the alternating perspectives of Sarah and Abi. As the plot develops and the tension builds, the reader is showered with several jaw-dropping twists and turns.

Thank you to @Bookouture and @Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, am speechless, apart from the fact that I do want to say that Lauren North writes some of the most addictive, unpredictable, amazing psychological thrillers that I have ever read.

I am astounded by this, I had many many theories that I was totally convinced were right as I was reading, and thus was blown away by the actual reveals as I was totally wrong. But it did make sense, the breadcrumbers were there in hindsight, I just didn't contemplate the real conclusion being remotely a feasible option.

With the story told mainly from Sarah and Abi's points of views, with both of them for different reasons being convinced of the same thing, it is hard to know just want to trust, why, and also to work out just what the lies being cover up actually will be.

I was totally hooked from the first few pages, and was drawn in more and more to the extent I gave myself an extended lunch break in order to read about the last 40% in one sitting, as I didn't want to be torn away and needed to know how it would finish.

Utterly fabulous, another total triumph, and if you are a parent it may lead you to think how you would react in certain circumstances throughout the book.

Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This was my sixth Lauren North book and I’ve been fairly consistent in my reviews of them with five ou5 of five being my usual score. I thought this one was going to be another maximum score but unfortunately I was a little disappointed in the ending. Just a little too far fetched although I have to own up to staying up,late in the night to finish it so I guess it can’t have been that disappointing really.
I’m sure it will be a huge success bevause if there’s one thing you can always say about this author it’s that she is original.

This was such a fantastic read , didn’t want to leave it down, so well written and such an intriguing psychological thriller I wanted to get to the end which kept you guessing right to the end . The story unfolded leaving you shocked and wanting more at the end of each chapter with brilliant characters and a great story line. Would really highly recommend this book as a must read .

Wow. What a twist of a story. This book goes deep into what families are capable of doing to each other, and the lasting ramifications of those decisions. How one bad decision sets a course of the lives to follow.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC.

What would you do if your child disappeared? What about if someone showed up years later claiming to be her? That, and overall family dynamics are explored in She Says She’s My Daughter, a new psych thriller by Lauren North.
The author had me going for most of the book. A lot of the story is from Sarah’s point of view, as she is the one most impacted by the loss of her child and the alleged return. Therefore, a lot of what we see is from her point of view.
There are interspersed chapters from Abi’s point of view. Some are set in the past (“Then”) and some are in the present situation. They are all convincing, leaving the reader wondering about the truth of the whole matter.
There is also a mystery person who Abi is afraid of, who we learn has set everything in motion. But he is a shadowy figure – there are several characters who could be responsible.
The plot is evenly paced. I would warn readers to pay attention to the time stamps at the beginning of each chapter. They aren’t entirely vital to understanding the story, but if you have them in your head, you’ll understand the urgency of some of the events and how things occur as they do.
I know that sounds convoluted, but it’s the best I can do without giving anything away.
I did not see the twists and reveals coming. I did guess one of them, but I think that’s because I was in tune with Sarah and understood her perspective. However, the rest were a surprise. The author did a great job with red herrings and other false clues.
I really enjoyed She Says She’s My Daughter. The end was breathtaking. I will certainly be looking for the next psych thriller from Laura North.

I loved this book! The author’s style of writing really appealed to me and made me want to keep on reading. Was Abi Michael and Sarahs’ daughter or wasn’t she? I just couldn’t make up my mind and I was swaying towards yes she was then no she wasn’t! This was an excellent gripping story about a lost missing daughter and the effect it had had on the family. The ending was so good with a twist that I never saw coming.
