This book started on the edge of your seat and ended on it. There was action throughout it all and I love that this author doesn't get trapped in miniscule details or focusing too much on the Detectives personal life. I was surprised to see the Mormon culture included but lately the community has been a hot topic in pop culture so I liked it. It was very well written and I liked that we didn't know who took the girls until the end.

My thanks to Net Galley and Bookouture for allowing me to review this arc book.

Niki Hunt and her team are asked to solve the disappearance of 2 sisters, Thea and Abigail from a local town fireworks while their mother turned her back. Further secrets and suspects are revealed from the moms past and her husband's wandering eye

I liked this book very much. Easy read, page turner, into characters.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of Her Last Tear, the seventh novel to feature FBI Special Agent Nikki Hunt, set in Stillwater, Minnesota.

When Abby and Thea Walker disappear from a fireworks display their mother, Britney Walker is distraught. Nikki was at the same display and steps in to help when it becomes clear that the children have been abducted. There are no clues, but Britney escaped a controlling husband while pregnant with Thea so that needs investigating, along with other small leads.

I thoroughly enjoyed Her Last Tear, which is a fast paced read with plenty of thrills and tension. It is told mostly from Nikki’s point of view with a few excerpts from the girls’ point of view to give the reader an idea of the stakes and what Nikki is up against. I think it heightens the tension. I like the way that the author concentrates on Nikki’s voice as it gives the narrative continuity and offers an immersive read.

It must be overwhelming for the detectives to investigate a stranger abduction as literally everyone is a suspect, but I love the process of gradually narrowing things down to one suspect. In this novel they have almost nothing to go on and cover a wide range of possible motives throughout the novel until things start to fall into place in the final chapters. I found it compelling reading and finished it in one sitting, wanting to know the outcome. There are blind alleys, secrets and a bit of misdirection, not to mention politics and the inevitable interagency disputes, so a heady mixture.

I like Nikki Hunt. She’s not perfect but with a calmer personal life she’s clear sighted and ready to assert her authority in any way required. It’s a pleasure spending time with her.

Her Last Tear is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending.

I don’t think there are many authors out there that pull me in as much as Stacy Green! I love both her series - but I have such a soft spot for Nikki Hunt and all she has been through. This book was no different to the rest, Gripping, twisty, sinister and with a couple of running back stories.
I do have a criticism - and it’s a big one! How come we only get Rory for a couple of pages!! I love him and so want him involved more!
Loved it! Loved the very current ?? Involvement from a local cult! Can’t wait for the next one!

This one will suck you in from the beginning! Nikki is brought in for a harrowing case and it's non stop action and suspense. My stomach tightened so many times reading this one. I didn't guess the answers before the reveals. There are several twists that had my jaw dropping. I love this series and this book was a great addition!

What a welcome return to the world of Nikki Hunt! The pace was fast and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, waiting to see if Thea & Abby would be found in time! Like all the other books in this series, this case hits a little close to home for Nikki, but this time there’s also drama within her usually well oiled team.

There was a lot of drama in the story, pulling together some pretty wild possibilities for suspects, but they were woven together wonderfully in a way that built the tension just right. There’s a couple of new characters in the law enforcement departments, and it was interesting to see how everyone worked together in this book & in future books. Nikki is a fantastic character and Stacy Green is going from strength to strength with this series - what a wonderful tribute to your father.

Another fast-paced and addictive crime thriller, Her Last Tear is a brilliant addition to an always-impressive series.

Green's books are usually less than 300 pages which means they get right to the action and waste no time in small details. And just like the rest of the books in this brilliant series, Her Last Tear keeps you hooked from start to finish with a gripping investigation, shocking revelations, and engaging characters.

I loved learning more about the Mormon culture, and there was so much mystery in this instalment that every revelation came as a big surprise. And as always, I absolutely loved the relationships between the characters.

Stacy Green's Nikki Hunt series is definitely one of my favourites. I can always rely on these books for a quick and exciting read, and this is one of my favourites yet!

Loved, loved, loved! I don't even know where to start. This book just has it all and it all just works.

So the writing style os really easy to get lost in. It flows perfectly and its got a really good pace. There's no down parts of bits that feel drawn out or full of waffle

The characters are such a treat! They're amazing and so well written. They're actually brought to life so clearly and naturally and they're not the same old clichés from other books

The plot itsself has plenty twists and turns and keeps you guessing from the start. It's just one of those rare books where everything syncs up perfectly and it just works! Sheer gold!!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review the seventh book in the Nikki Hunt series - 'Her Last Tear'. Read this one in one sitting!
Nikki Hunt is back for another intense case, this time the apparent kidnapping of two young girls from the crown at a local fireworks display. Here one minute, and gone the next, while their mother was in the washroom, not far away.
At first, Britney thinks that Thea and Abby have just wandered off, and she is stunned at the lack of empathy from those around her, who should have seen something! But it soon becomes apparent that they are gone, and the mother is frantic to get the police involved while at the same time not really trusting them.
For Britney has a dark secret - her escape from a polygamous cult and her ingrained mistrust of police. As well as the fact that one of the girls is not her husband's child. Is that what this is all about? Have members and or leaders of the cult come and taken away her babies? (How would they even have found her and them?)
Britney's husband, a leading surgeon, has a string of mistresses and girlfriends. Is that what this is all about? Is it a case of kidnapping for ransom? Or one of the girlfriends trying to create a new family? He's also a team doctor, blamed for a season ending injury. Is a crazed fan at the heart of this?
The police and FBI (in the person of Agent Nikki Hunt and her team) may be the only ones the the ability to bring her babies home. It remains to be seen.
With a lot of moving parts - including a philandering husband, the possible involvement of members of the cult and the definite involvement of a young man whom Nikki had rescued from a horrible situation (in a previous book) - this one appears to go off in numerous directions until - thanks to a witness description and an all-points bulletin - all of the red herrings are dispensed with and the final chase is on.
Stacy Green has pulled out all the stops on this one, and has further cemented Agent Nikki Hunt as one of the best series out there. I for one cannot wait to see what's next.
Highly recommended - can be read as a standalone, but reading the entire series will give you a lot of backstory that is only touched upon here.

I'm a big fan of this series! Every book gets better and better, Her Last Tear was no exception.
Nikki and her team go on the hunt to find 2 missing little girls, sisters, who seemingly disappear into thin air in the middle of a crowded festival. With no motive and tons of suspects, Nikki has to work along with city police and county sheriffs to find the girls before it's too late.
As always with this series, the story is so well written, full of twists and turns and suspense. The characters are well developed; Nikki Hunt is one of my favorite fictional detectives. I hope they'll be lots more of her!

Gripping thriller with la plot that kept me reading. I love this series, and this book was one of the best yet!
Nikki, and the Detectives on the case, are racing against time to find a missing girl when her sister's body is found. Lots of suspects, all with motive, and all with iron clad alibis. What are they all missing? Pressure from the little girl's father, pressure from the town, and fear for the girl's safety make for long days, sleepless nights, and lots of emotions. Nikki and team find a clue in the most unexpected twist.
This is a must read.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Book Review 📚

Her Last Tear by Stacy Green - 4.5/5 ⭐

Ok, just hold on to your hat with this one! I was HOOKED from the very first chapter. It was a edge of your seat kind of book, couldn't put it down until I was done. Like, oh my GOD! It starts with a bang but it also ends with a bang. It's a must read as far as I'm concerned. Bare in mind I read this as a standalone and not as part of the series, but I will now be going back and binging all of them.

The characters in the book, just work? I can't explain it but they do. They're in sync, they're bonded, they're just bouncing off each other perfectly. They are Definitely one of the highs in this book. The whole character descriptions just sell them, so that says a lot for the author and her writing.

But the plot. Oh my god, the plot. I just couldn't stop reading, I was up so late making sure I finished this book cause I just couldn't wait to find out what was gonna happen! I thoroughly enjoyed the entirety of the book, there isn't a single thing I would of done better. But, the ending! PREPARE YOURSELVES. I can't unread the ending. My mind is just blown!

All I will say - READ IT NOW.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookoture for allowing me to read this ARC - this is an HONEST review from my own personal opinion.

Detective Nikki Hunt is enjoying a night of fireworks with her daughter and boyfriend when the evening turns to tragedy. Two little girls disappear while their mother is away from them. The immediate search reveals little, until the purse holding one of the girls insulin is found in a parking lot. Nikki and her team begin the painstaking process of trying to locate the children and discover who is behind the abduction. The investigation uncovers some troubling information about the mother and her husband that provides a variety of leads that provide no answers. A witness to part of the abduction is finally found, and their testimony means a new twist in the case. It's a very exciting chase that demonstrates the incredible skills of Nikki and her team.

Being a detective means you can get called in at any time of day or night often disturbing plans you have made. But that's the way it is and when you put your heart and your soul in your job, you just cannot let any victim down. You have to find justice for them and hunt the culprits down.

Nikki and her team have to join forces with other police departments in order to find a disgusting prowler. Clues? Next to none, but they never give up and then there is that one sentence to break the case open.

Now it's up to Nikki and her colleagues to beat the clock and close the net around the killer.

I have loved this series from the beginning. In fact what is there not to love about these books? The settings are great, the recurring characters are wonderful and the author drags you in with the writing style and talent for storytelling from the very first page. 5 stars, of course.

Thank you

I have read almost everything that this author has written and she has never let me down. She writes with a style that brings it all alive and sucks you right into the story. Also, she is not afraid to go to the dark places we all fear, and she handles it so well. Her character Nikki Hunt knows those dark places, she has lived with the darkness most of her life and still finds the light as she fights for justice for the victims. She knows her strengths as well as her weaknesses as she struggles with both in order to find the truth. It is a race against time as two children go missing and it is up to Nikki and her team to assist local authorities in order to bring them home. This story brings you right to the edge as the clock ticks and it ends with a twist you won’t see coming.. I look forward to many more books from this author and this character.

Her Last Tear, Nikki Hunt book 7, by Stacy Green.

I absolutely love this series and this may just be the best book in it so far. It's every parents worst nightmare. Britney takes a few minutes for herself while at a fireworks show with her two young daughters. She returns to the area where the girls are supposed to be, only to find them missing. In comes Nikki Hunt and her team. Can they find the girls alive? Is this case linked to other unsolved cases?
There is a lot going on in this one, and it all comes together nicely in the end.

I highly recommend this book and the entire series. It's a standalone series but best read in order. Five stars.

I love Stacy Green and I love this series. I have read every book and I never get tired of the stories and characters. This book is about two girls who go missing on the 4th of July and it's FBI agent Nikki Hunt to the rescue. I always find myself trying to figure out who is the bad guy in each of her books and I never get it right and am always shocked at the conclusion! There are so many twists and turns it keeps you engaged the whole book!

As always in the Nikki Hunt Series, Stacy Hunt has written an incredible story that further stretches her character. After the fireworks, Nikki is notified by the sheriff that two little girls have gone missing. The distraught mother left a religious cult and is now married to a much-older, well-respected surgeon. The more Nikki digs - as her specialty within the FBI is missing children - the more puzzling the girls' disappearance becomes. There's plenty of action here - but also a wonderful backstory revolving Nikki's daughter, Lacey, and her significant other, Rory. This Series keeps getting better and better... and that's hard to believe as it was outstanding from Book 1. I always look forward to the next chapter with Nikki Hunt. Absolutely fabulous! Thank you to Bookouture for an advanced reader copy of this book. The opinions expressed are my own.
