The intriguing cast of characters added so much depth and complexity to the plot, it made for a truly gripping read.
It felt like I was immersed in the plot of a TV Crime Drama. The way the team worked together seamlessly to unravel the mystery was just expertly crafted and so well done.

One of the few series I've actually kept up with even though I have to go back and read the first books , I had no problem jumping in and reading this one since I've read books 4- 7. Which each story you see how far the characters have came and grown, you see more of their personality coming out as well, and with each turn of the page you get pulled more into the story itself . Plus the author Stacy Green has away of delivering fast paced, gripping storylines and really interesting insights into investigative procedures that also helps make her books interesting to read as well as much more realistic.

4 stars only because I reserve 5 stars for books that I reread over and over.

I read a LOT, anywhere from 125-150 a year so the number of times I can remember the main characters of a series without the author's recap is very small. That's not the case with Stacy Green's Nikki Hunt series! Even though the previous installment in this series was released in October 2022 I had no problems jumping right back into the lives of Nikki, Rory and the rest!

The introduction of a few new characters that I'm not sure I will be fans of but not because Ms. Green created crappy characters, it's because she did so well at forming characters that have flaws...real life flaws that we all have.

I'm really not sure what I can say that I haven't said about every book of Stacy Green's that I have reviewed tbh. She writes a fast passed book with smooth flowing, believable story lines and characters which is exactly the kind of book I enjoy. There is nothing slow moving that you need to force to keep your attention on, it's very much more "omg what next!?"

Do yourself a favour...if you haven't read this series, start asap! If you have, hurry and get it as soon as it is released in July!

A relentlessly thrilling read and a real mystery!

Stacy Green, for me is a guaranteed page turner. Her Nikki Hunt series has become a firm favourite of mine delivering fast paced, gripping storylines and really interesting insights into investigative procedures.

This book is not only finely crafted but feels almost impossible to solve. With lots of twists and red herrings but no solid leads until the end I couldn’t help feeling that Stacey might’ve dug herself a hole with no exit. With that in mind the evidence that finally secured an ending is somewhat surprising and a little last minute. But overall the pace in which you get to that point is exhilarating and utterly captivating.

I’m a huge fan of the Nikki hunt series. Nikki is a fantastic character, a very strong female lead in a male dominated environment. She’s compassionate and kind yet ruthless in her search for results. Quite often you hear her say she doesn’t have time for feelings because she’s always on a tight deadline.

I really don't like reading about people hurting children, but of course we can't pretend they don't exist. What I really like reading about, are smart female main characters, like in this book. It's also well written, and shows a lot of problems the police can have at times. An easy and entertaining book to read.

This is book 7 and was wonderful.
Nikki and her family are watching fireworks, once they are over, they realize 2 little girls are missing. Now Nikki must try to beat the clock and find them.
I loved getting a little more personal with Liam, He is such a good character.
The story was well written and emotional. I really enjoyed this one.

Her Last Tear is an absolute page-turner that had me hooked from the very first chapter. I couldn't put it down! From the moment six-year-old Abby and nine-year-old Thea were snatched from a fireworks display, I found myself fully invested in Detective Nikki Hunt's relentless quest to bring them home. The twists and turns in this fast-paced thriller kept me guessing until the very end. With its gripping plot, well-developed characters, and shocking revelations, this book is a must-read for anyone who loves an intense crime story. Prepare to be captivated by this heart-pounding race against time to save innocent lives.

I enjoyed reading this book, and I wasn't sure if I'd rate it three or four stars. I decided on three as I felt the beginning was a little bit slow, and the writing was repetetive at times. It also wasn't quite as captivating as I had hoped. However, it was an enjoyable read and I would recommend this book to others who like this genre.
Two girls go missing during the fireworks, and as Nikki and her team work hard to find them and whoever took them, they uncover a lot of secrets. As soon as you thought you knew how it would go, there was a twist and everything was unsure again. This book will certaintly keep you guessing.
The story is told in third-person point of view, and mainly follows Nikki. There are a few chapters where we follow Abby, and I really enjoyed reading these chapters and wish there were more of those.
The book comes out on July 25th and I would recommend picking it up.

I really enjoyed the latest instalment of the Nikki Hunt series. There is a town celebration and 2 little girls ago missing. Did they wander off? Did someone snatch them, and if so, was it related to the cult their mother had escaped. Missing children always pull at the heart strings and as Nikki and her team race to discover the fate of the girls I was on the edge of my seat. This could easily be read as a stand alone, as there wasn’t a great deal of Nikki’s personal life in the book, given the frantic search this was only logical. I do recommend the entire series though as the characters are engaging and the mystery always keeps the reader guessing. I look forward to reading more books in the series, and hope we get to see more of Lacey and Rory in subsequent titles. I read Her Last Tear (Nikki Hunt Book 7) by Stacy Green in one day. Her Last Tear is a good addition to the Nikki Hunt series.

When six-year-old Abby and nine-year-old Thea are snatched from a crowd at a fireworks display, Detective Nikki Hunt is determined to return the sweet sisters to their desperate mother Britney. The last person to see them alive witnessed the girls being led toward the docks by someone they seemed to know.

The red herrings are abundant, and you never know which way to turn or who to trust. Some very sad and tender moments brought tears to my eyes (don't want to say too much and not give away any plots or outcomes).

Her Last Tear had secrets, drama, heart-pounding action, and intense scenes. The author is able to weave a great plot and keep the reader glued to the pages.

I would recommend this book, this series, and this author.

I have been a huge fan of this series, and enjoy the cast of characters that make up Nikki’s village - although Rory and Lacey were a little absent this time, with almost the entire story focused on the case of two missing girls, with all the mystery and suspense you have come to expect..
Already looking forward to the next Stillwater mystery instalment.

I have enjoyed the Nikki Hunt series so I couldn’t wait to read this one. Two girls get kidnapped during a firework show. Thea is nine years old and has Diabetes 1 and Abby is six years old. This is every parents worst fear so I instantly connected with Brittany and how she was beating herself up and blaming herself for how this happened while she was with the kids. Thea is found dead and now the race is on to find Abby before it is too late.

Brittany left her family and is estranged from them. They started the Fundamentalist Saints of Zion and believed in multiple marriages and that children could be married off to older men to have their children. A cult she was lucky to escape from but she fights to remove the toxic beliefs they drilled into her head.

So many red herrings on who the kidnapper could be. Nikki Hunt will piece together the crime and track this killer.

I loved how Stacy Green shared about her life and hardships that happened while writing this book at the end of this book.

If you are in a reading slump READ THIS BOOK!! This book will have you hooked, and you will NOT be able to put it down!! It had me in an absolute chokehold the entire time. I was not expecting it to go the way it did. The ending had me speechless. SOOOO GOOD. I also had no idea it was part of a series, and I am now grabbing the previous books so that I can see how everything unfolds.

This talented author has written a cannot put down novel. This series is intriguing. It is one of my favorites. I like this protagonist. The characters are likable and realistic. The story moves quickly. Red herrings kept me guessing. This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher and the author. I always request books by his publisher and this author. Two great ones. If I could give this novel more than five stars, I would.
