My favorite parts of the book are those in which Hall shares his shamanic experiences--often unmediated by a teacher or other guide. Hall simply (courageously) puts himself in situations where he has to call upon other senses--other dimensions--to survive; and does. From seeing himself glow in the dark, to experiencing a this-world vision of his Native American father from a previous life, to being visited by the spirit of a departing friend while Hall himself sat on a mountaintop in Peru, the spiritual world makes itself known to Hall--and through Hall to readers.
