The entire Dragon Kings series is responsible for my growing fascination with anything Paranormal romance. I have yet to read a single book of the series that I did not completely enjoy and none has ever rated less than 4 stars....including this one.

King Series Book 6
Stars: 3 x 5
Author: Donna Grant @dgauthor
Publisher: DL Grant, LLC.
Thank you @netgalley for this Arc
I am going to admit that fantasy books are generally
not the genre I read. My niece ask me to try a few and
I admit I enjoyed them. I would have enjoyed this book
better if it was not the 6th book in a series of eight. I
had difficulty with the first third of the book trying to
get my bearing. I gave the book 3 stars because I did
end up enjoying it. I want to read the full series of
eight books and come back and do a full review on the
Dragon King series.
Ahhhhh this was just such a great read. I just didn't want this book to end and I was sad to turn the last page. I'm so excited to see what's next from this author.
Dragon Arisen just didn't do it for me. I haven't been a huge fan of the Kings being on Zora and since it seems like all the books are the same. Dragon meets girl...girl hates dragons...girl finds out she has magic she didn't know about/doesn't know how to control.....the Davine.....HEA.
It wasn't a bad book, just didn't hold that spark for me. Though lost of info is revealed, so I'm hoping this is just a transition book very similar to middle book blues.
I loved this books I highly suggest reading the other books in the series. If you love fourth wing and dragons I highly suggest this book.
Unforntunately I was unable to read this book. I planned on forwarding it to my kindle when I was ready to read it and by that time the option was no longer available.
An emotionally thrilling roller-coaster journey from beginning to end. Sweetly sexy adventure, filled with witty and engaging charters, heart racing twists and undeniable passion.
DRAGON ARISEN is the sixth book in the Dragon King series. As always, I look forward to reading about these dragons because Grant’s world is so complex and imaginative. She is definitely the author I like to recommend when it comes to dragon shifter books.
Unsurprisingly, I found the characterization to be very good in this book. I would love to know how Grant keeps track of all her worldbuilding and characters because she does such a good job of developing them over the course of the series.
So although this is Alasdair and Lotti’s romance, a lot of the other character to play integral parts. I would definitely suggest reading the books in order because the world can get confusing sometimes with so many story arcs and characters involved.
Overall, I can’t recommend this series enough. The Dragon King series is definitely one of my favorite Paranormal Romances out there, so don’t miss out and give it a try!
Alasdair has one mission and that is to find his missing friend, While searching for him he stumbles on Lotti a skittisch, mysterious beauty. a really interesting book full of mystery and a lot of new information about dragons.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for this arc.
I just did not like the female main character at all.. I felt the story was a little slow to get going.
Wow, just when I think this series doesn't have any more twists/turns/reveals in it - this book comes along.
This book is masquerading as just another installment in the Dragon Kings series, but is definitely a pivot point not to be missed. We join the kings, with one of their own missing on this newly discovered realm. Here, the dragons and humans are distinctly separate and may be on the cusp of war. Alasdair is anxious to take action so sets out to find is missing dragon king. On his way to the human city he encounters a loner named Lotti standing over a randomly appearing child (as happens in this weird realm).
Lotti has always been separate from others, instilling a sense of unease so she's been on her own for a while. When she meets Alasdair, even without them sharing secrets, she is determined to stay away. Of course, fate would have other plans for these two and they find themselves teamed up to attempt a rescue of sorts. The ending of this book is insane. I can't even begin to wrap my head around where we ended up, but there is a lot to unpack in future books. There is romance and smutty goodness along the way, but this book really take us on a journey where dragons probably didn't expect to go.
This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was action packed, held my interest and kept me reading. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by this author.
As always, when a cover of Donna Grant comes up at Netgalley, I really need to request it. Since Donna is branching out her series, it is sometimes a little bit harder to keep up. We move between realms: from Earth to Zora and from Druids to the Dark Kings and the Divine. But still, she keeps you on your toes. Lotti is a mysterious woman, who keeps to herself. And only at the very end, most of your questions will be answered. But this is not the end of the story of course. Donna still has some tricks up her sleeve. So, hopefully she won’t keep us long in suspense about the Divine and the city of Stonemore on Zora.
Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.
At first, I was disappointed that Merrill was the Dragon King this book was about but quickly enjoyed the growing attraction between Alasdair and Lotti. Plus, there was sightings of Merrill and so many secrets revealed! Still need to go back and re-read what I learned about the origin of the dragons and humans on both Earth and Zora - did not see that coming at all.
Without giving away any vital information, I will say that the book was non-stop action as Alasdair and Lotti tried to find out more about the Divine and try to "rescue" Merrill.
Still a few questions that were not answered and a few new questions added to this ongoing Dragon King story lilne. Loved at the end - we got to see Erith again!
This is part of a series and you should read them prior to this. But OMG the jaw dropping revelations that come out in this book!! I couldn't put this down! I loved it!! 5 stars!!
I just reviewed Dragon Arisen by Donna Grant. #DragonArisen #NetGalley

On the planet of Zora, at Cairnkeep, we meet up with our MMC. Alisdair, who is a sexy, mysterious, and commanding dragon king, is on a mission to find his friend and fellow dragon king Merrill, who might be held against his will. During his search, he meets Lotti, a strange woman who tends to keep her distance and refuses to touch anyone. As they journey through the human's land, their relationship builds, and they uncover secrets about Stonemore and Lotti.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book, giving it a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating. However, there was some confusion with the point of view in one of the chapters, as the character wasn't introduced until a few pages in. Additionally, there were quite a few character switches, which, personally, I didn't appreciate. Despite these flaws, there were many elements of the book that I loved, such as the numerous plot twists and the beautiful way Grant tied them together.
For those who enjoy a slow burn, "Dragon Arisen" is definitely worth a read. I give it a 🌶️🌶️/5 spicy rating because there was the perfect amount of spice for the average romance reader, and it never detracted from the overall plot. The relationship between Alisdair and Lotti gradually builds throughout the book, with palpable tension present for most of the story. The end of the book delivers a delicious and satisfyingly spicy scene..
*** THIS IS NOT A STAND ALONE ***
To really get the full picture of what's going on and to be up to date. I didn't realize this entirely when I picked it up and I was very confused through a lot of it.
The sixth book in the Dragon Kings, Dragon Arisen is an intriguing paranormal romance. Amethyst King Alasdair and Lotti’s are dynamic, and the story is compelling taking me on a fabulous journey throughout this book.
For the best enjoyment I would recommend you read this series in order which you can find on the authors website. Dig in you won’t be disappointed I love Ms Grant’s books and I am sure you will too.
Full disclosure - I had not read any of the previous books in this series. And while I tried to not let that affect me, it was very hard. Because this does not really work as a standalone. I felt there was a lot going on for the story, but I wonder if I had read the others in the series, I would've followed it a lot better. However, it did seem like it was a well done story and had lots of good plot and spice.
Who or what is Lotti? The answer to these questions tie up so many lose ends even those you didn't know existed in the Dark universe. What a page turner this book is. Possibly one of the more exciting books in the series.
Alisdair has been asleep for centuries, now awake in response to the King of King's call, he is on the planet of Zora trying to deal with the reality of seeing all the dragons they had sent over the dragon bridge safe but no friends of theirs. His friend Merrill is missing and not responding to any attempts at communication. Determined to at least rescue Merrill he sets off on his own only to run into an abandoned baby and Lotti.
Lotti has led a hard life staying hidden and, on the run, constantly. The one reality of her life is that the Dragon Kings are to be feared. When she finds that Alisdair is a Dragon King, she knows she has to get away from him and his friends and yet she finds herself guiding him into Stonemere the city that she's been taught never to enter.
Stonemere holds a lot of secrets. Some of them are revealed and possibly more to come in future books. However, the big secrets come about when Lotti's ancestry is revealed to the readers along with the truths behind the humans coming to earth, the others and so many other facts that I as a reader didn't even know I had questions about.
While the story itself can be read as a standalone, all the secrets revealed etc., will not mean much unless you've been reading both the Dark Kings series as well as the Reaper series since they are about intersect big time here.
I have been a fan of Donna Grant’s books for many years now so everytime she has a new book coming out I have to read it right away.
Absolutely loved this story. As per usual I was hooked into the story.
