Aspiring chef finds herself in an unexpected romance with an up and coming famous musician. How many woman haven’t wanted to live that dream?

This book is full of romance, humor, real-life troubles, and feelings. I really enjoyed it. Of course it probably helps that I love to cook, love New York, and am obsessed with music and musicians. But regardless, it’s quite a fun and sweet adventure. I recommend this to fans of Christina Lauren and Emily Henry and just fans of romantic comedies in general.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for the advanced copy.

Thank you netgalley for the opportunity to read this early!
When I first saw the cover of this, I wasn't sure I was going to love it, but this FAR exceeded my expectations. I LOVE the "second chance romance" trope, but coupled with a "celebrity and real person" trope, it just really worked. You rooted for Lexi, an aspiring chef and Jake, a viral musical sensation, from the second their meet cute started. I thought Lexi's B story line of being a chef was so well fleshed out and hit all the right notes: toxic workplace environments, relationships with coworkers, work-life balance, and most importantly what a career SHOULD be and who it should be FOR.
The steam in this was perfect. Just the perfect pinch, with the slow burn of their relationship built through emotion and not sex: that is the absolute perfect balance for me.
Loved this as a cute and fun romantic read!

TILL THERE WAS YOU is such a heartwarming romcom! It follows culinary student Lexi Berman, who has dreamed of becoming a chef for years, and won't let anything—or anyone—stop her from achieving her goals. On a night out, she meets budding musician Jake, and they share an unforgettable weekend together. But then Lexi's back at school, and Jake's off to LA to record a demo. Jake becomes an overnight celebrity—and the single that catapults him to fame? It just might be based on a very real person—and her show-stopping blueberry pancake recipe. Still, Lexi's moved on, scored her dream job at a restaurant, and done her best to put her feelings for Jake behind her. But what will she do when he turns up on her doorstep late one night?

I love celebrity romances, and TILL THERE WAS YOU is definitely a great addition to the genre! Lexi and Jake had such a sweet relationship. I also loved the Jewish rep, the musical theatre references, and the mouth-watering descriptions of food, and thought Lexi's friendships were so much fun to read about, too! I especially liked Ali, Chloe, and Mia as characters. If there's one thing I struggled with a little, I usually love pop culture references in books, but I did feel like some of the ones included here were a little dated and not as current as they could have been. Still, it didn't take me out of the story! I also wish some of the time jumps had been a little clearer. Sometimes, a transition was introduced and I was a bit confused as to how much time had passed. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this book, and can't wait to see what Lindsay Hameroff writes next! Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC.

Truly, truly, truly loved Till There Was You! I am a sucker for a food romance, and TTWY was nothing short of excellent.
Lexi is a hardworking culinary student who is just trying to live up to her late mothers wishes. Upon meeting Jake Taylor, she can easily see how easy love is. They spend their first few days together watching Golden Girls and eating Lexi's favorite blueberry pancakes. When Jake leaves and becomes a big star, Lexi realizes that the song is about her, and that maybe she does really love him.
I so much enjoyed this. The food descriptions were unmatched and left me wanting to keep reading. TTWY read like a simple, free flowing romance that I have been chasing for a while. I loved how easy Lexi and Jake got along and how simple their relationship felt. For me, it was a very easy romance and I loved the themes of it.
While I adored this book, the ending was a little too cutie for me. NYE party and the whole jumbotron was a little bit much for me, but it was just like a rom com movie that I would eat up.
Over all, 5 stars from me! Fun, enjoyable, and such a good read. I will be reading everything Linsday Hameroff writes.

“Till There Was You” is a cute, insta-love story between aspiring chef Alexa (Lexi) Berman and rising musician Jacob (Jake) Taylor. After swearing off men to focus on her career as a newly hired kitchen chef, Lexi meets Jake at the tail-end of a girls night out. The best weekend of their lives ensue…only to have Lexi not hear from Jake again after he’s swept off to Los Angeles to record his debut album (where he’s subsequently signed by a record label).

Lexi is devastated but figures it’s for the best - until she hears Jake’s first single, “Blueberry,” on the radio months later and realizes the song is a tribute to her. Jake comes back into Lexi’s life and what follows is a messy, heart-gripping account of what happens when two big-time dreamers pursue their ambitions…while trying to pursue each other. I absolutely loved that - despite how they first came together over their tumultuous, love-fest of a weekend - their care and concern over the other’s life goals was genuine and deep running.

This book had me in a death-grip from beginning to end - will they end up together? Will Jake’s fame scare Lexi away? (I almost had to chuck my Kindle across the room after the antics Madison & Vinny pulled!) Hameroff’s pacing was impeccable and made for a quick but thoroughly enjoyable read. I also loved the secondary characters (Chloe and Chad’s banter was HILARIOUS - I loved how Chloe just shut him down and put him in his place half the time.)

“Till There Was You” is the perfect second-chance at love book. The characters were so well developed and the book had me cheering for Lexi and Jake by the end. Jake’s love song tribute at the end was just the piece de resistance and the perfect culmination of them coming full circle. If you’re a fan of films like “Notting Hill” or “Beyond the Lights,” of love stories between celebrities and “normals,” Hameroff’s debut album will not disappoint.

A cute chef and celeb romance that made me crave blueberry pancakes! I loved the look into Lexi's life as a chef and how that impacted her relationships.

"Till There Was You" is a heartwarming and sweet romance that follows Lexi Berman, an aspiring chef focused on her culinary dreams. When she meets Jake Taylor, a handsome stranger, their connection is undeniable. Their love blooms quickly, but Jake's sudden departure for a music demo leaves Lexi questioning their relationship.

With a predictable yet charming storyline, well-developed characters, and the delightful inclusion of blueberry pancakes, this book is a cozy read for romance enthusiasts. While the beginning felt rushed, the overall journey of Lexi and Jake's love makes it an enjoyable experience.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of this book!

Lexi's dream is to be a culinary chef and one day open her own restaurant; Jake's dream is to become a famous singer. The two meet before their careers start, her in culinary school, and him singing at dive bars. They have one whirlwind, enchanted weekend together before they don't see each other for a year. Once reuniting, can these two stay friends? Or will their undeniable chemistry finally bring them together?
I absolutely loved this fast paced book. Both main characters are relatable, and I am happy that in the end, neither had to give up their dreams to be together. If you are a fan of books like Set on You by Amy Lea or Mr. Wrong Number by Lynn Painter, this book is for you!!

Lexi meets Jake one evening in a bar. They spend the weekend together telling each other their dreams (she want to be a Chef and him a singer), and it's love at first sight. Jake leaves for LA, and the success falls on him after he wrote a song about her. Only Jake ghost Lexi and She tries to forget him even if he’s everywhere, until the day he comes back. I loved Jake and Lexi, their alchemy and especially their meeting. But I really liked the secondary characters like Ali who made me smile several times. A beautiful romance that makes you want to eat pancakes while listening to good music :)

This was such an endearing rom-com that had all the exact things you need but never knew you even wanted! I was drooling over the impeccable food descriptions within the first chapter and was swooning shortly thereafter. From the adorable meet cute all the way to the fantastic rom-com movie worthy ending, I was cheering these characters along! What an incredible debut novel from Lindsay Hameroff!

The reader meets Lexi, a brand new chef in culinary school just trying to keep her dream alive while still dealing with the loss of her mother. She meets Jake, an up and coming musician and they have a whirlwind romance over the course of a weekend together. Jake ends up becoming an overnight music sensation and for over a year these two are out of touch. When they reconnect they try and fight the growing attraction, both strongly passionate about their careers while still supporting one another. The angst and longing in this romance is just top notch, you can really truly feel that Lexi and Jake are meant for each other. Through their ups and downs, navigating a celebrity relationship, both Lexi and Jake (along with a cast of hilarious side characters) learn what it truly means to follow your passions, no matter what everyone else is saying.

I already can't wait to read more from this author!!

Till There Was You is a swoon-worthy romance featuring a rising pop star and an up-and-coming chef. Lexi and Jake will quickly become a new bookish couple you root for!

Lexi hopes to fulfill her late mother's dream of becoming a chef in Manhattan. She has a great group of friends and dating is the last thing on her mind. When she meets a charming musician at a dive bar, she gives in for just one weekend. She never knew that one steamy weekend with Jake would open up her heart so quickly.

Jake is a sweetheart and has dreamt of making music for a living. He performs and meets Lexi and they hit it off. After a weekend together, he can't help but feel like they are soulmates. Their connection is everything and he wants more. He just has to make a quick trip to finish his demo and then they can spend all the time they want together. Jake didn't plan to become an overnight sensation and miss out on a whole year with Lexi.

Lexi always had hope that she would hear from Jake after he left. He wrote a song about her and it went viral. How could he not call her.? Even after everyone told her to move on, she knew what they had was too special to just last for one weekend. But the call never came. So, she decided to close up her heart once again. And that's when Jake is back in town and front of her door.

This is an emotional and charming romance about second chances, dating a celebrity, and going after what you want. I was glued to the pages and couldn't wait to see how it all played out quickly enough! I swooned so hard and rooted for Jake & Lexi like a diehard fangirl. This is a must-read for any contemporary romance reader!

This was a fun little romance adventure between a culinary student and a soon-to-be pop star. Lexi and Jake meet one night in a dive bar, spend an amazing weekend together, and then Lexi ends up getting ghosted when Jake hits the big time. A year later, when he shows up on her doorstep, Lexi needs to decide what is most important to her: her dreams of becoming a chef or what could be the love of her life.

This was an easy read and a sweet (not spicy) romance. The text flowed well, was easy to understand, and wasn’t clunky or contrived. I enjoyed the chemistry between the main characters and was rooting for them the entire time. Hameroff did a great job setting up both characters and their motivations.

If you’re looking for a sweet romance, this is it! I would compare it to How to Love Your Neighbour by Sophie Sullivan. Good chemistry but not a lot of heat.

“This is going to change everything. But there’s no one I’d rather be here with”

When Lexi meets Jake she’s just trying to land herself a decent job in a restaurant to launch her career. But Jake gives her one weekend that makes her question everything. When Jake leaves for LA to record a demo, with the promise of returning, Lexi hangs on to those words for entirely too long. Flash forward, Jake is famous, Lexi was left in the dust and she’s focusing on her career. When Jake returns she decides to give him another shot and things heat up quickly and they are back to old habits. But a relationship with the new Jake is not the same and Lexi is trying to balance it all. But can Lexi have a career as a chef and be on the arm of a famous musician?
This was such a cute and quick read! I love second chances and I loved how passionate these two were about their own careers. I will say I felt stressed for Lexi at times because it seemed pretty hard to have it all. A catch 22 for sure. I was ultimately really happy with the ending and I love how it wasn’t just about Jake and his job. After lots of fumbles these two figured it out. The only piece that was a little harder to believe was that they were 24.. But i kinda brushed that off because it seems really young for all of these big life decisions. Either, way super cute, fun and easy breezy!

This book was delightful! Lexi and Jake’s chemistry felt extremely real, and I loved all of the foodie details in the book. This was definitely a book more about Lexi than Jake, which I appreciated, but the romance is also well written and sexy. My one nitpick is that I wish there was an epilogue! The ending felt a little rushed.

Lexi is focused on finishing culinary school and starting on her career path to becoming an executive chef. Dating will not get in the way. Until she meets Jake Taylor at a bar one night. They have a steamy weekend together, and Lexi is hoping for a little more. But Jake leaves for LA to meet with a record producer and ghosts her.

Flash forward, and Jake’s become a hot music sensation. He returns to Lexi and just as their relationship is heating up again, Jake’s stardom (and Lexi’s career path) throws up a barrier.

I enjoyed the second-chance romance aspect, and I’m a fan of celebrity/normal person romances. Lexi and Jake had great chemistry and things were H-O-T between them.

My one criticism is that Lexi’s naivete became a little too much throughout the story, and she was pretty dour for someone who had so much privilege.
