I love this as a book to read with my students as many of them are going through the process of realizing they need glasses. The book makes the process relatable with a lovable dog character. I could see it making the students more comfortable with needing glasses.
It has many cute, laugh out loud moments as the pup goes to the doctor. I definitely appreciate the introduction page to encourage students who wear glasses!

Perfect book to read to young children whether they need glasses or not. If they need glasses then they understand how Arlo feels about his glasses. If they don't need glasses it might help them understand how their friends or classmates might feel about their new glasses. If children are going to have their eyes checked it can help alleviate fears because it shows what happens. The eye chart, the machine that looks at your eyes, and even how the eye chart looks when you have good vision and what it could look if your eyes need some help.
Now Arlo is happy because he can see better.
