I read the first three chapters of Fall of Ruin and Wrath, and I am interested to read more of the story. Lis is an orphan girl with the power of foresight when see touches another person, and sometimes sees the future or has pre-knowledge even without a touch. She finds sanctuary as a young woman as part of the household of a count. The story takes place in a kingdom controlled by a hierarchy of different classes based on magical powers, it seems like some of these powers come from having a godly/ angelic being in your ancestry. The world building information is woven into the story, so I assume as the book goes on, I would learn more information about the magic system and power plays going on in the country. While there was no sex in the first three chapters, it's kind of implied that there will be NSFW scenes later on.

Jennifer L Armentrout is always going to be an instabuy for me. However, I struggled a little bit with this excerpt. It could just be that we’re ramping up with world building, so I’ll be able to provide a better review once I read the full book. The frequent ellipses in the dialogue constantly brought me out of the scene. I enjoy the author’s unique takes on fantasy settings and creatures, though, so I’m hoping I end up enjoying this more once I have the whole picture!

Another fantasy from Armentrout. I didn't enjoy the bit I read as much as I did Blood and Ash, this felt perhaps a bit duller, but I think that could change whenever I read the full novel.

I am so excited to read more of this. It is definitely for fans of fourth wing. I believe it’s better than FBAA!

So good! I can't wait for the full book! This feels like an alternate universe From Blood and Ash and I'm here for it. I'm very intrigued about what the female lead will end up being and her male lead. That ending had me desperate for more.

This sampler for JLA’s new book was amazing!! It definitely hooked me from the beginning and I’m sad it was only 3 chapters in this sampler bc it was so good!! The FMC was interesting and I’m excited to learn about how her powers work but also I’m pumped to see who her love interest is ( even though I feel like I know who it’ll be 😏 ). There was also a lot of In for dumping in this sampler but as a high romantasy I’m not surprised. I’m excited to dive into JLA’s new world and hope to love it as much as her FBAA world!!!

This excerpt was everything I needed for a little insight into this next book. It feels like I’ve been waiting seventy years for this continuation but only because I’ve been DESPERATE for it. I’m in love with this series.

Jennifer is one of my favorite authors, and I’ve read all of her books. This one absolutely blew me away. I can’t wait for more!

Give me more, give me more! This sampler by Armentrout wasn't enough. I'm a huge fan of her other novels and I'm loving this transition to more adult novels.

This was omg good. I actually have the full ARC for this one so I am happy to finish it. I didn't realize this was a sampler when I grabbed it. But thats ok. Always glad to give Armentrout some love!

When I requested this book I did not realize it was a sample. It is kind of hard to write a good review with only about 3 chapters. I do like this author and the character setup is interesting. So, I do plan to keep an eye out for this one to read the full book.
