When I read this self-help guide for business owners, I found it packed with valuable techniques for stimulating organizational change. The advice to start with chapter 12 and review it multiple times made a lot of sense to me, primarily since it focuses on practical techniques and thought-provoking questions. Given its depth, I think the book would work well for book clubs or even those interested in classic literature or art.

One of the most valuable insights I got from the book was its exploration of stand-up and improv skills and how humor plays a role in business success. The inventive chapter subheads and humorous Takeaways, like "Eggshells and eggheads are bad for business," really stood out to me and kept things light while offering solid advice. I think this book belongs prominently on a desk or near a computer for quick reference—it’s the kind of guide I’d want close by when navigating business challenges.

This book should be prominently displayed on our desk or close to our iPad, laptop, or PC—it doesn't belong on a shelf! I learned so much about stand-up and improv abilities and techniques from the book's compilation of tales and examples, and I also learned how humour and business success are related.
I found the writers' inventive chapter subheads and use of Takeaways to be hilarious. As an illustration, "Eggshells and eggheads are bad for business." (Yes, I realise this is a pun. :-)

As much as I love the idea of this book, it's very blah. While it is okay overall, I find that it's longer than it needs to be. I was under the impression I'd learn actual strategies on implementing a culture that encourages laughter. Instead this book felt very boastful and I had a hard time finishing it. I was very disappointed.

The ROI of LOL truly lives up to its name! I literally LOL'd so many times while reading it, yet took away so many important lessons on the intersections of humor and business, sales, marketing, and leadership. I'm a leadership coach, and humor and laughter just come up naturally in my sessions with clients. I used to wonder if it was perhaps too much. Having read the ROI of LOL, I now understand why my clients seem to appreciate the fact that we laugh, heartily and often, during our sessions. I now appreciate that they get more from our sessions when we do so, even as we discuss important leadership and business topics. So Steve Cody and Clayton Fletcher, now that I've read your enjoyable book, I'm going to keep doing so!
