A new waterpark has been built by a swamp. On opening day Zelda the Bog Witch is awakened and she wreaks havoc.

This was a ton of fun. Very campy and silly but still a fun slasher. The killings were all very similar with a good dose of violence but not too much. There is no plot beyond your basic creature feature. Zelda's dialogue is silly by everyone else speaks like real people. There is a large cast of characters but they were all distinct and not hard for me to remember. One family of four is considered the main character(s) while the others usually have two scenes, an introduction and a kill. I had a grand time reading this. It was quick and a good time read. The kills could have been more gross for my liking. If you like campy slashers this one's for you.

The waterpark has a grand opening and Zelda, the bog witch, is awakened from an ancient slumber

This book is totally bonkers in a great way. Perfect for fans of campy horror.

I am grateful to have received this eARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a silly story not to be taken seriously, so the reader can just delight in the mindless shenanigans. The book centres around Zelda, a Bog Witch interrupted from her slumber. While trying to enjoy herself at the waterpark (frozen margarita, anyone?), Zelda creates utter chaos for park-goers. There is plenty of gore and many people are killed in unexpected ways (Typhoon Twirler!!!), not for squeamish readers!
This was pure comedy horror with some amazing one-liners, I rate this book 4 stars. I am intrigued to read more from Penny Moonz.

Fun, silly, fast paced with a comical main character (the witch herself). This was an entertaining, quick read!

If you are looking for dark brooding horror, this is not your book. However, if you seek a delightful drunk slasher bog witch wreaking havoc on a water park, you are definitely in the right place. This book has no real main characters other than Zelda the bog witch, who is punishing joyful people in bathing suits attempting to enjoy water slides built on her swamp. No one is safe from her wrath and her hilarious delight in frozen fruity beverages adds to the fun of the story.

This is not for those with weak stomachs as the book is quite gory but I loved it. I read it in about an hour. It's a pretty quick read but a nice way to pass an afternoon. The carnivorous pirate seal is my favorite.

This book was given to me through NetGalley in return for an honest review.
This book has done a great job of capturing the feel of two genres. First the slasher film era of the late 80's early 90's. Second the SciFi channel fun of movies with giant bugs/rats/creatures of whatever kind. The book opens with the preface warning the reader of the complete ridiculousness that follows throughout the story. Knowing that going in allows the reader to embrace the absolutely ludicrous events that take place. While as ridiculous as the story is, there are still some legit moments of adrenalin inducing terror for the claustrophobics in the crowd.
I don't believe the story actually states what state the story takes place in, however, I grew up in Florida and this seemed like the perfect story for a Florida setting. A waterpark grand opening built over old marsh/swamp/bog land with cicada sounding off. Sounds like it could be Florida to me.
One line in the story I'm sure I'll find myself quoting, "ya got me right in my fancy vest." If you know you know.
Thank you NetGalley for the fun adventure.

This is a fun, bloody, and darkly funny book that will have you laughing in some places and making you say "ewwww" in others, but in the best possible way.

As the title implies, this is a slasher novel about a bog witch who awakens from the swamp after centuries and decides to wreak havoc on the water amusement park that's been built on her bog.

Zelda, the bog witch in question, is a great antagonist. She's brutal and unforgiving but she's also a very fun interesting character. As she uses her spells to maim, destroy, and kill the park goers, she also discovers things for the first time. Like popcorn, frozen lemonade, and fruity alcoholic beverages.

The authors preface says that this book is kinda goofy and not meant to be taken seriously, but the scenes of carnage throughout will please most horror fans while providing some chuckles along the way.

I really enjoyed this book and it delivers on what it promises; a bloody, slashery, goofy good time. I highly recommend it.

Look this is fun, wacky, craziness with a witch in a waterpark and everyone else subjected to her. The thing that dragged it down for me though was how goofy it seemed. I understand it’s meant to be a comedy slasher and it accomplished that so I won’t take stars from it but it wasn’t my personal favorite as the comedy wasn’t my style. If you love comedy and slashers, you may love it though!

This is hilarious. I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't this. I love bog witches and I love that she had a great time in the waterpark.
I mean a girl deserves a nice day!
