Great feel good romcom with a side of spicy. I enjoyed both main characters and genuinely found myself smiling through out. Definitely recommend for fans of spicy romcoms!
Thanks NetGalley for the preview!
I struggled with the beginning of this one but it was sweet and spicy! I loved the nerdy Brian and Sarah was an interesting character. Jess made me a little frustrated but I’m glad it worked out. I also loved the premise of Sarah’s job.
é um livro ok, mas acho esquecível, mas foi bom enquanto durou 🫶🏽

REVIEW: Get a Room by Casey Dembowski
If you're into rom-coms with a side of workplace drama and a sprinkle of steam, this book covers you. Two co-workers can't stand each other and are forced to share a hotel room at a work conference. Classic enemies-to-lovers setup, right? But Dembowski throws in enough twists to keep things fresh and exciting. The banter between our main characters is top-notch. I'm talking snappy comebacks, sarcastic quips, and enough sexual tension to power a small city. There were moments when I was laughing out loud. Dembowski does a great job of developing the characters beyond just their rivalry. You get to see their vulnerabilities, backstories, and why they act as they do. It makes their eventual connection feel earned, not just convenient for the plot. The pacing is solid - there's a good balance of funny moments, steamy scenes, and character growth.
Now, it could be better. Some workplace stuff feels cliché, and some plot points are predictable. But honestly? I will forgive a few well-worn tropes when a book's this entertaining.
I appreciated how Dembowski handled consent and communication. It's refreshing to see a romance novel that doesn't shy away from these critical topics while keeping things sexy and fun. "Get a Room is a solid, entertaining read that'll leave you with a goofy grin. It's not going to change your life, but it's going to brighten your day.

Brian and Sarah are so cute and I loved seeing them fall in love. I caught myself smiling so many times while reading.
Get a Room by Casey Dembowski is a charming exploration of unexpected romance and personal growth. Brian Hawkins, grappling with recent setbacks, seeks refuge in his sister’s home, only to find himself sharing space with Sarah Webb, his sister’s vibrant best friend. Brian’s gruff exterior contrasts with Sarah’s lively, colorful personality, creating instant friction.
As they vie for the single bed and engage in playful pranks, their initial antagonism gives way to a deeper understanding. Sarah's defiant charm and Brian’s reluctant vulnerability unveil layers of their personalities, drawing them closer. Their evolving friendship, marked by witty banter and heartfelt moments, transforms into a genuine romantic connection.
Dembowski crafts a delightful narrative where character development and chemistry shine, proving that even the most unexpected circumstances can lead to profound and lasting connections. This novel is a delightful exploration of love and personal reinvention.
For an enemies to lovers they fell in love way to quickly. I feel it could have been drawn out more, wasn't my favorite. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this book to friends so my review will only be posted on netgalley. Thank you to the author, the publisher and netgalley for allowing me a copy of this book.

This is a cute and fast read.
This was a story of choice between love and friendship. Sarah has a true blue friendship that has endured the test of time. Until she falls in love with her friend’s brother. Then a choice has to be made according to her best friend, Jess. But is her friend only thinking of herself, as she has been deceiving her over a hidden boyfriend?
Thank you to Casey Dembowski and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my review.
I didn't feel the connection between the characters as much as I would've liked to. This was a contemporary "enemies to lovers" story between Sarah and her best friends brother Brian. Them being "enemies" didn't make sense to me. I can't remember if it was explained why they hated each other but if it was I have no memory of it. They also got over their years long hatred towards each other as soon as they were in a space together for an extended period of time which felt unrealistic. I guess I did like the book. I read it quickly, and it was so easy to read but it felt like there was a little something missing. Jess, Brian's sister and Sarah's best friend also annoyed me. The whole conflict involving her just frustrated me and it made me dislike her character instantly even though I had liked her for the rest of the book.
The story was fine. It was a fake-dating, forced proximity, brother's best friend, enemies to lovers, secret relationship story which wasn't incredible but wasn't boring. I read through it so quickly and it was a fine in-between book for me.
"Get a Room" by Casey Dembowski is a delightful contemporary romance that will sweep you off your feet! The story follows Sarah and Brian, who find themselves reluctantly sharing an apartment, leading to hilarious pranks, heartfelt moments, and unexpected chemistry. Dembowski's writing shines with its engaging banter and vivid character development. Sarah and Brian are both complex characters with relatable struggles and growth throughout the story. Their relationship evolves from enemies to friends to something more, and the journey is both entertaining and heartwarming.
One of the highlights of the book is the dynamic between Sarah and Brian. Their banter is witty, their chemistry is palpable, and their romantic moments are beautifully written. It's a story that will make you laugh, swoon, and root for the characters to find their happily ever after.
While there were moments that frustrated me, particularly with some of the characters' actions toward the end, I appreciated the realism and depth it added to the story. It made the characters feel more authentic and relatable, showcasing their flaws and growth.
Overall, "Get a Room" is a charming and enjoyable read that will appeal to fans of contemporary romance. Whether you're new to Casey Dembowski's work or a longtime fan, this book is sure to captivate you with its engaging story and lovable characters.
Get a Room was a fun and light-hearted rom com! Get a Room, was a quick read and I would recommend to a friend.
I absolutely loved "When We're Thirty" so I was ecstatic to read this one. Unfortunately, by 8%, I still hadn't connected with either MC, and I didn't feel invested. The writing feels similar to her other book, so if you like Casey Dembowski's writing style, give this a shot.
5 stars - self-publishing is hard.
Thank you to NetGalley and Red Adept Publishing for the ARC.
Get a Room is a charming romantic comedy that will make you smile throughout. The story follows Sarah, who is kicked out of her boyfriend's house after she rejects his proposal, and then she decides to go back and live with her best friend, Jess. The problem is that Jess already gave Sarah’s old room to her brother, Brian. In a new city without a job or acquaintances, Brian is having a hard time surviving.
Sarah is lively, helpful, and has a fighting spirit. It was wonderful to watch Brian gradually come into his own, make new friends, gain confidence, and more. I adored the entertaining conversation and fun banter between Sarah and Brian. The fake dating era of Brain and Sarah was great and fun. I did not like Jess a lot because I found her a bit unsupportive.
I appreciate reading romantic novels in third-person POV because I don't often do so. It was easy to read because of the author's writing style and simple language. I loved the friendship that Sarah, Brian, and Jessica shared at first. However, despite being enemies to lovers, there was less of an enemy part. I was expecting more details about their enemy stage and more enemy banter. But it was an amazing contemporary romance read. 💜
Tropes:

🪷 Fake dating

This was an ok read. I didn’t really vibe with the characters. For and enemies to lover trope, they moved very very quickly. Would have love to see more of drawn out session with them hating each other.
2.5 stars: This book for me was fine. I didn't feel the connection between the characters and they went from "enemies" to being in love with each other way too quickly. It just fell a little flat for me but it was a fine palette cleanser between other books for me. It's not something that I'm going to recommend to others but it's not something I absolutely hated.
This book had a really cute premise, but it fell a little flat for me. I just didn't enjoy any of the characters, and it really felt like I was reading a young adult book instead of about grown adults. I also never really felt the chemistry between the two main characters, which was disappointing because enemies to lovers is my favorite trope. It wasn’t my cup of tea, but it was a quick read.

Initially I was going to give this book 4-5 stars but settled on 3 stars as I didn't enjoy the ending as it didn't really make sense due to the beginning of the book and how these characters were introduced. I feel like the love happened very quickly and also the plot point at the end where Jess gives her two cents felt overly dramatic for what it was. These two have been in proximity less than a month and are already saying I love you which is weird given they hated each other and the move from enemies to lovers was not that smooth. I wish the "enemies" lasted more than 10%.
I did enjoy this book but due to the above small issues it kind of put me off re-reading however I will check out more from this author as the book did give me a good chuckle at times.
📖My Thoughts📖
I don’t think that I could ever get tired of romantic comedies. They’re always so fun and easy to read, with heaps of sunshine and gooshiness in them! This romcom offered a few different tropes, adding even more fun to the mix. We had enemies to lovers, forced proximity, best friends brother and a few dashes of fake dating, making this a very colorful and enjoyable read. There was a hint of spice, but nothing too extreme, so if the hit steamy spicy books are something that deter you, this one will meet your needs and you can easily skip over them. There were moments that I got a little irritated by Jess (the best friend) and her seemingly one sided demeanor, but when the logic behind it unfolded, I could understand where she was coming from. Some of the banter that took place between Sarah and Brian had me cracking up. It reminded me of when I was a kid having a boy tease me and people saying “oh he must like you”. Overall I found this to be an enjoyable and fun book to read!
Thank you Netgalley, Red Adept Publishing LLC and Casey Dembowski for the opportunity to read and review this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Brian Hawkin’s last year couldn’t have been worse, he lost his job, apartment and girlfriend.
He doesn’t think his life can be much worse until he ends up staying with his sisters best friend,
This was a super fun rom-com. Will definitely read again and recommend to friends.
