This book hit me right in the solar plexus. From the first meeting between the hero and heroine, I knew this book would grip me from start to finish. Their emotional journey was heart-wrenchingly, achingly real and I so adored each and every second of it.

Quick Summary: A secret relationship romance

My Review: Get a Room by Casey Dembowski is a gen-fic romance. It is a quick read that presents as a standalone.

About the Book: Brian Hawkins was in love with his sister's best friend. He needed Sarah Webb in his life. Although they started out irritating each other to no end, they soon grew to have strong feelings for each other. What they had was a forever kind of love. They both wanted it to last. Unfortunately, Brian's sister stood in the way as a major obstacle to their relationship.

Question to Consider: Is the love of a lifetime worth losing your best friend over?

My Final Say: This novel was so good. It started solidly and had a good pace. The last section of the book, however, hit its stride and took off. It was the emotional conflict that really grabbed my attention. Brian fell on his sword for love. Obviously, there is more that I could say, but I don't want to spoil it for other readers.

Other: Brian's sister was ridiculous. She wasn't the only immature character though. The author did a great job with writing her and the doctor who shall not be named.

Get a Room is about two characters that are tied, unfortunately, together by one person. Jess is both Brian’s little sister, and Sarah’s best friend. After both Sarah and Brian have had extraordinarily bad luck, they both move in to a 2 bedroom apartment occupied by Jess. 3 people in a small space provides great comedy, especially considering Sarah and Brian can’t stand one another. A friendship ends up growing and blossoms into more, but, as always, there are complications.

I absolutely adored this book. The awkward ‘I’ve known you forever but deal with you because we have a shared person we love’ is great. The way both parties deal with the complication was so heartbreaking and ultimately satisfying. I feel like Brian and Sarah both did the right, and very hard thing. I loved the resolution at the end and how realistic it all felt. I’m always a fan of two flawed people finding one another and proving themselves to each other and this story was an excellent example of just that. 100% would recommend to romcom readers.

Get a Room is a heartwarming romance that I devoured in less than a day! Brian and Sarah are an endearing couple, who have about a million reasons not to get together, so of course they fall for each other! Their journey is filled with pitfalls; she’s nursing a bruised heart, he’s trying to restart his career, and his sister has forbidden Sarah to date him! Once sworn enemies, all that goes out the window when fake dating leads to all kinds of feelings—and it is quite a ride! Lots of emotions to unpack in this compelling story, and I was happy to be along for the ride!

Oh, Casey. I love everything you write, and this one is no different! Best friend’s brother is something I absolutely adore as a trope because how can you not?! And this one was even better than that - forced proximity AND one bed?! Gah! I melt! Sarah and Brian were great characters who were thrust into difficult situations. Rather than be immature about having to stay together in a one bedroom guest room, they worked it out and were mature about it - loved that! And the conflict was a 3rd act, as most books have, but solved by the end which was perfect. My MOST favorite of the book - the banter between Sarah and Brian. So. Good! Thanks for the opportunity to read!

This was such a cute rom com overall! Brian and Sarah were such an adorable couple and their banter was by far my favorite part! The other characters surrounding them seemed to fall flat, either with no personality or being vaguely mentioned. This didn’t take away from how cute the story was but did make it harder at times.

This was a pleasant surprise! I went with zero expectations, but Sarah and Brian made this a sweet, fun and ultimately enjoyable!

i wish that i could get into this book i dnf it at like 50%. i feel disconnected when characters are in their 30's and the plot just didn't rub me the right way. thanks net galley and casey dembowski for the e arc :))

I had started reading this book and I got about 15% in and it was just not it for me. The characters were 30 but it felt like they were children and I was not enjoying it.

I will never not fall head over heels for a best friend's brother and close proximity trope. Brian and Sarah had an instant chemistry that I adored. I loved their banter and how each of them was facing real-life problems that aren't always represented in romance stories. But with that being said, I feel like all the tension I felt between them in the beginning slowly died out and I was feeling more friendship vibes between the two. I did not like Jess at all which took me away from the ending. But overall, I did enjoy the writing style and seeing how the two characters overcame everything that life threw at them. It was definitely a cozy, sweet story.

This was a lighthearted fun read with plenty of banter. The characters do come across as immature at times which can be annoying at times but overall I really enjoyed the story.
i received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review

This book seemed like a generic romance book. It was still pretty cute but also very predictable. I did like the overall story.

Get A Room
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Author: Casey Dembowski

I requested a digital advanced readers copy from NetGalley and Red Adapt Publishing and providing my opinion voluntarily and unbiased.

Synopsis: Brian Hawkins has had the worst year. He watched his girlfriend marry another man, lost his job and his apartment, and, after a summer under his parents’ roof, has taken refuge with his younger sister. A quiet few months in Philadelphia is just what he needs to clear his head and get back on his feet. But he’s barely unpacked before the bane of his existence, his sister’s best friend shows up. His planned solitude is replaced by pop songs, rom-coms, and bright pink hair. Which would be fine, except there’s only one extra bed, and there’s no way he’s sharing it with her.

Sarah Webb didn’t think anything could be worse than a marriage-proposal-gone-wrong walk of shame to her best friend’s apartment. But she was wrong. So wrong. Because she’s not just staying with Jess, but with Jess’s older brother. Brian is grumpy and stubborn and—not that Sarah would ever admit it out loud—totally hot. He’s also off limits. Which is why she should let him have the bedroom, stop staring at his abs, and keep her distance. But playing nice isn’t in her nature.

As Sarah and Brian pull pranks and place wagers over who can lay claim to the bed, things between the rivals start to shift. Sarah can admit that Brian has his moments, and Brian sees a side of Sarah she usually keeps hidden. When she needs a last-minute date for a charity gala where her doctor-ex is going to be in attendance, Brian seems like the perfect fake date. But as they spin around the dance floor, their fledgling friendship turns to something unexpected—and only one thing’s certain… more than just the bed is up for grabs.

My Thoughts: Our MCs Sarah and Brian were wonderfully portrayed in this story. Sarah had a relationship go south and needed somewhere to crash while she got her life together, which happens to be her best friend. Brain’s relationship went really south when his girlfriend left him for someone else, lost his job, then his apartment, trying to get a fresh spin on life, he decided to stay with his sister with only one spare room. Now the only spare room has two guests that have to battle out for keeps. The story follows the tropes of forced proximity, best friend’s brother, pranks, enemies to lovers, and grumpy v sunshine.

The story is narrated in a dual narration by both Sarah and Brian, in their perspectives. The characters are flawed, make their share of mistakes, and are authentic and realistic. Some of the decisions made did not seem like the best, but the story is written in a way that makes you understand why those decisions were made. Sarah is upbeat, social, and is really passionate about her job. Brian played a minor character in a previous book and was unlikable then, however, he has had life thrown at him in every way possible, he is still standing, maybe a bit grumpy, but is trying to get his life on track. Jess (sister and best friend) kind of annoyed me, I felt like her character could have been blended better, and the conflict she created seems unnecessary. Both Brian and Sarah have a tremendous amount of character growth throughout the story, which I love. The initial rivalry develops into a friendship with vulnerabilities revealed that deepened their bond. The characters were created with depth, they had amazing witty banter with each other, chemistry, were creatively done, and intriguing. The author’s writing style was complex, layered, humorous, passionate, and engaging.

This was an endearing, heartwarming, romcom that will play at your heartstrings. It has a great balance of funny with romance, even blended with a little seriousness. I highly recommend this story to anyone who loves a clean romcom that just makes you feel good.

I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.

i had a lot of expectations for this book but it wasn’t as good as i thought.
i think 3rd pov works in heavy angsty romance books and this one was a very fun and light read, so it didn’t “flow” and i didn’t feel the characters emotions and their love.

i voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book, thanks to netgalley for the opportunity. all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I'm back again with another ARC. I'm only 7 reviews from catching up real time with my reading, so I'm trying to push these bad boys out. This book is a pretty stereotypical brother's best friend, except they're all grown adults. This story follows Brian who has officially hit rock bottom. He watched his girlfriend marry another guy, lost his job, and had to move into his parent's roof. After a terrible summer living with his parents, his sister does him a favor and allows him to take the spare room. He had barely unpacked when his sister's best friend shows up. His plan for quietly regrouping his next plan is quickly replaced by pop songs, rom-coms, and bright pink hair. And none of that would be bearable, except there's only one bed.
On the other hand, Sarah didn't think anything could be worse than a marriage proposal gone wrong, then the walk of shame to her best friend's apartment, but of course she's wrong. Because not only has she gone back to living with Jess, her best friend. She has to share the space with Brian. While Brian is grumpy and stubborn, he's also hot (which is something she'd never admit to, since he's completely off limits). As they go back and forward pulling pranks on one another, things between to shift between them. Both characters are a lot of fun to read, and overall I really enjoyed it! It's cute, fluffy, and quick. 3.5⭐s

I didn't have high expectations for this book BUT OH MY GOD!!!! the way the whole enemies to lovers dynamic is written is so good that i couldn't stop reading, the author manages well to give them moments when the tension goes shifting from enemies to lovers. Chef kiss.

The tension was so delish oh my word! I loved this book and will never get over or grow tired of forced proximity in romance. Loved it!

Get a room is a RomCom featuring enemies to lovers tropes.

Sara and Brian lives-in with Brian's sister/Sarah's friend Jess, as Brian is hunting down new positions, whereas, Sara had a break up with the self obsessed, misogynistic excuse of a boyfriend, who dared to propose her on her birthday when she wasn't ready to move forward in her courtship.

The story progresses when Sara was looking up for a fake boyfriend on tinder to tag him along on the business gala, and Brian steps-in in order to help Sara, and here on their infatuation begins.

Sara/Brian had a treaty with jess that either won't date the brother/best friend. The story revolves how they resolves the treaty on good note.

This book was more of a best friend's brother or a single bed trope with loads of banters rather than the enemies to lovers tropes. As Brian and Sara had to fight their right to get the guestroom.

İ didn't quite enjoyed the book as i expected to, and Jess was hella annoying who was self obsessed. She literally blamed Sara for hiding her relationship with Brian where they were kinda trying to find a mutual ground to share the news with Jess, where as Jess overlooked a couple of friendship rules herself but wasn't even considerate about the facts.
