Get A Room was a fun read! it’s a contemporary romance following characters Sarah and Brian.

I loved the growth of Brian and seeing the snippets of Sarah and her mums relationship, as well as her passion for her career.

The ending was a little rushed however it was still a fantastic read!

Tropes:

- Enemies to Lovers
- Good Banter
- Forced Proximity
- Level 2.5 on the spicy scale

I’m so grateful to Netgalley for the ARC opportunity, thank you again!!

Honestly an amazing read. I loved the chemistry and banter between the main characters Sarah and Brian. It was a fun, fast paced read that had me giggling like a loon at times and kicking my feet. Brian is an excellent book boyfriend and definitely has my heart. It is an enemies to lovers romance which is one of my favourite tropes as well as forced proximity which in my opinion always makes this type of book better. (It makes the spice within the book better also) I wholeheartedly recommend this book as it was truly a great read that I couldn’t put down.

An overall pretty good romcom. It’s an easy read. Even better that it is enemies to lovers. My favorite! Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

Brian & Sarah have had the worst luck recently, and both end up moving into Jess’ apartment (Brian’s sister & Sarah’s best friend) where they battle it out to see who gets the bed and who has to sleep on the floor mattress, andddd the time they spend together (and all the hilariously horrible scenarios they’re put it) show them how similar they actually are which was a pretty good flow! the whole living situation gave me a little bit of Mr Wrong Number vibes & I really like Sarah & Brian together! the banter was top-notch and though Jess was not my favorite character & I didn’t like how she handled a lot of things, I still really enjoyed reading :)

Get a Room is an engaging and fun contemporary romance by Casey Dembowski and was my first read from this author. I adored the characters, thrilling banter, and the enemies-to-lovers possibility.

Meet Sarah. She needs a place to live. Meet Brian. He also needs a place to live. They both end up fighting over space in an apartment: with her best friend, who is also his sister. Will these enemies feelings toward each other slowly change, or will it remain prank wars forever?

There are a few spicy moments in the story that, you guessed it, had me blushing. But I really appreciated the character growth throughout the story and having the dual POVs. Romance and laughter make this book an entertaining read when you need something sweet.

Thank you to NetGalley and Red Adept Publishing for a temporary e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC publication for an honest review.

I read and enjoyed both of Casey Dembowski's previous books. I did not realize going into to this current one that we would have crossover characters. What an unexpected, happy surprise! Even more surprising is our male lead is none other than Brian, the anti-hero, ex-boyfriend of Hannah from the book "When Were Thirty." A sign of a good writer is to take a character that you previously have disliked and then give him depth and a new perspective for the reader. to see Brian's character is given a whole new direction in this book and I actually enjoyed this transformation.

This book is an enemies to lovers, best friends' brother, fake dating, hidden romance. Yes, there seems to be a lot of different directions of the storyline, but honestly it all works! I adored the banter between Brian and Sara, the pranks, and the growth of both their characters as they became closer and discovered they were something more....

There was so much sweetness between our main couple (and spice that personally I didn't need to become invested in them.) For most part, I loved the BFF relationship of Jess and Sarah until the end. I was so mad at Jess and the direction the story went. Thankfully, everything comes full circle. And the happily ever after was lovely with an epilogue. There were plenty of interesting side characters...I wonder if any will get their own book.

I liked this book. The main two characters were interesting because it was nice to see a guy actually care about what she wants and understand that she need to make the choices that she wants to. I just had some issues with the side characters as they didn’t really show their relationships unless they needed to talk about something and that’s it. It’s sweet and fluffy!

The best thing about this book are the two main characters, Sarah and Brian. I really enjoyed reading about the progression of their relationship starting as some sort of enemies, then (kinda?) fake dating and finally, lovers. Their personal lives were interesting as well. I loved Sarah's job and her devotion. And I appreciate the closure she and Tyler got. Brian also had his own share of personal problems, trying to find a job, friends and a life in a new city.

I'm not sure how I feel about the pacing of this book. I usually read books like these in two/three days but I felt like I was stalling with this one and only rushed to finish it before an ARC expires. There were scenes that didn't really feel important to the plot. Maybe this is a personal preference, but I prefer romance books to be written in first view rather than the third.

The third act of this book is the weakest. Sarah, Brian and Jess annoyed me in the conflict, but Jess far far more. Not only do I think that this conflict is predictable and overplayed in best friend's brother/sister's friend trope romances, but Jess makes it even worse. I understand feeling frustrated at your brother and best friend for lying to you and making you feel dumb enough to not notice anything. And I think that Brian and Sarah should've come clean sooner instead of lying to her face.
But *SPOILER* what Jess did to her own BROTHER - basically kicking him out of the apartment, and best friend - giving her a disgusting ultimatum. She come off very hypocritical with how she dealt with their relationship and her own in the first act. Her reasoning for 'forbidding' the relationship was childish and resulted from her insecurity in her and her friendship. And in the end, she's forgiven without really doing much to deserve it.

Overall, I still enjoyed the book, even with my issues with it. It had some of my favorite tropes ( forced proximity / roommates, fake dating) and Sarah and Brian were genuinely lovable and entertaining.

This is a cute little enemy to lovers but he is my best friend's brother.

This book is perfect for anyone wanting to cleanse their palette because it is easy to read and you can fly through it. A few moments in the book had me giggling and kicking my feet. Other than those moments I feel this book could have been longer because you did end up with a few unanswered questions. For instance, why did Jess always look like she was going through it, or how she was able to easily leave her boyfriend to go to Sarah even though they are doing long distance? Wouldn't you want as much time with them if you truly want them? Also, Mr.Brian only fell for Sarah after she pushed herself onto him sexually smh. Another question I have is it never explained why Tyler and that other model got together or what he told her for her to get so mad. They are simple questions but still, it felt like there should have been more information about these little plot lines.

I liked the idea of this book but it severely lacks the plot like WHERE’S THE PLOT? plus the relationship between the main characters was not done well. It started as an sexual attraction and it seems like that till the end, there was lack of emotional development between the characters. Also how can they just give up on each other just because someone don’t want that. They were so close the one moment and so distinct the other. Now, coming to the side characters which were literally “side” characters, I felt like they were not part of the main character’s life, they were just there because the writer wrote so like there was lack of development of friendship and depth between the characters that it seemed so fake. But there were some conversations/moments that I absolutely loved.

As a girl who fell for her brothers best friend, this book sold me from chapter 2!

I relate to Sarah so much and I love her free spirit. Brian’s your average grumpy man who had his whole world flipped upside down in a year. The fact they both move in with Jess within hours of each other, well that’s just fate right? Has to be!

The banter between Sarah and Brian is spot on and the spicy moments, well there’s just great too! I loved it and it was a cute read!

This is a funny and sweet romantic comedy. I really like the author's style of writing, it flows and felt easy to read. She puts a lot of thought into the characters and I really appreciate that in books. I really liked all the characters. Brian and Sarah were such great main characters. They both showed nice character development throughout the book. I liked Jess a lot during the first half of the book but slowly started to dislike her as the book went on, especially her reaction to finding out about Brian and Sarah.

Any romance featuring ‘best friends brother’ and ‘enemies to lovers’ tropes, you know you’re getting some drama. And there definitely was. Before all the drama came into place, the story was built nicely. I just wish there wasn’t that typical 3rd act breakup. I was expecting it but still hoped it wouldn’t happen. For the most part, this story followed a pretty predictable plotline. It wasn’t over the top predictable, but it was what you typically see and expect for these specific tropes.

Overall, I enjoyed this, even though parts were a bit slow, it always jumped right back into something exciting.

This was such a fun read. I loved the enemies to lovers trope with the fake dating. I wish the ending included what happened to the sister.

Casey sure knows how to warm a reader up, the twists and turns along the way had we dying to figure out how the book ended. I love that it had some romance but I wouldn't in my opinion say it was spicy. Over all a very cute enemies to lovers book.

Get a Room by Casey Dembowski is a fun enemies to lovers/forced proximity/fake dating/forbidden romance story. Jess's brother Brian is having a rough go. His girlfriend dumped him, he lost his job, and he's currently living with his parents. In an attempt to start new, he convinces his sister to let him move in with her in a new city. Her best friend, Sarah, recently moved out to live with her boyfriend and Jess has an extra room. That is until Brian moves in and Sarah breaks up with her boyfriend. Now she wants her old room back. Brian and Sarah do not get along anyway and this just might push them over the edge.

This book is light-hearted and easy to read. The characters are well written and the premise is perfect. There was no shortage of "traditional" romance tropes and the tension between Sarah and Brian goes up a notch (or ten) when Brian agrees to fake date Sarah. The story gets the message across that the two probably always had some suppressed attraction to each other and the fake dating was a perfect time to let that out.

The spice on this book is very mild and would be perfect for readers who are just coming into romance and are looking for a happily ever after without a ton of drama or explicit language/scenarios. However, if a reader is familiar with and enjoys authors such as Katee Robert or JT Geissinger, this book might not scratch the itch they are looking for. I would consider this a wholesome romance and would recommend it to fans of Nora Roberts or Julia Quinn.

This is a lovely story with amazing characters. Sarah and Brian hate each other, or so they think, but when they become roommates, both crashing at Jess' place... but how do you manage falling in love with your best friend's brother?

Sarah was such a good character. I loved that she was a bit feisty and a bit wild instead of all the soft girls usually written about. Brian was also so cute and actually had a personality. Often in books you read about men whose whole personality is their hotness. Brian was not like that. The characters had depth.

I only think that Jess' reaction was a bit extreme, but on the other hand, not everyone is immediately extremely mature in such situations, I would probably also have reacted more extreme than necessary.

Thank you to netgalley and the author for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

'Get a Room' is a classic 'enemies to lovers' rom com. When we last saw Brian Hawkins in Casey Dembowski's delightful debut 'When We're Thirty', he'd been dumped by his girlfriend Hannah, so she could fulfil a marriage pact with her university best friend.

Set over a year later, Brian is forced to move to Philadelphia to live in his sister Jess's spare bedroom, working as a barista again after being made redundant from his New York tech job.

Fighting him for the room, is Jess's best friend Sarah Webb, whom he has an antagonistic relationship. Sarah is homeless after rejecting her live-in doctor boyfriend's premature proposal.

I loved seeing Brian's side of things regarding his relationship with Hannah. In contrast, he and Sarah were perfect for each other, bringing the best in each other, while giving each other space. It was also refreshing to see a character refreshing to return to their small hometown. Too often books value small town over the city and I find this frustrating.

This book is sweet, sexy and fun with an enmnity between the two characters that was entertaining instead of irritating that I find with an 'enemies' dynamic. As with 'When We're Thirty', the book's strengths is its strong female friendships and characters undergoing personal growth.

Thanks to Red Adept Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC.

Oooh this was an absolute delight!!

Sarah and Brian’s love story felt so real and genuine. I really felt like the author did such a good job showing the growth of their friendship and then eventual relationship. There were several scenes that had be blushing and swooning.

It was refreshing that Brian had a life outside of the romance - the side characters added to the story. It made it seem like they were real people and not just existing to fall in love.

I will definitely be recommending this book and checking out her other work!
