Very cute story,
Tropes- Fake romance, people who didnt really get along to lovers.
I didnt like Jess Brians sister and Sarah's best friend. I also found certain aspects a little weird of Brian and Sarah in the beginning. Like childish
Thank you to NetGalley and Red Adept Publishing for the ARC.

honestly, this book was not as good as i expected it to be. i requested this book on netgalley after seeing the cute cover and the synopsis, but it didn't live up to my expectations. it may be because of the third person pov. i love 3rd person pov but not in romance books. when i read romance books i want all their thoughts and emotions, and not from another's person pov.
there are a few tropes in this book that i did like, like best friend's brother, fake dating, and not exactly enemies to lovers, but they disliked each other a lot.
i loved reading about sarah and brian, seeing them slowly fall in love. their banter was great and just them hanging out was so fun. i did feel like the book moved too fast but that might just be me.
i did not like sarah's best friend, jess. i didn't like behavior and how unsupportive and hypocritical she was. i'm sorry but first of all, being mad at sarah for not telling her when she's been hiding her relationship for 3 months?? you can't be mad at her for doing the same thing you do. and the ultimatum she gave sarah in the end made me dislike her even more. who are you to come between their happiness just because of something that happened when you were in high school??
overall it was a very fun and light read, but i will not re-read this book. thank you netgalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review.
This was a super fun rom-com read filled with lots of romance book tropes and endearing characters! Brian and Sarah were both at pivotal points in their lives, trying to figure out what to do next and feeling kind of lost. I loved seeing them both find themselves while also finding each other! Their relationship transitioning from pulling pranks on each other and being annoyed to developing feelings was adorable to read! This is a perfect cozy rom-com that will make you have a guaranteed smile on your face!
I’m such a sucker for a good, tropey rom com and this hit the spot!
Sarah’s and Brian’s prank war for the spare room makes for some incredibly funny banter, and the ‘rivals to lover with the added layer of you being my best friends brother’ dynamic made the back and forth between these two so engaging and the tension was just *chefs kiss*. Throw in some fake dating and I was hooked.
A really fun summer read for fans of “The Kissing Booth” and “To all the boys I”be loved before”
This book has sent be digging into this author’s backlist! It was so adorable that I practically read it in one sitting! Brian is the classic best-friend’s-brother and Sarah has always had some dislike/tension with him. Their banter and chemistry really pops off the page! I felt like there really weren’t many pranks in fighting over a bedroom, but more bets and barters to have the bedroom. Jess, the sister and best-friend, seemed to be in her own world during most of this and that is fully explained later in the book. There were so many tiny details in this book and supporting characters that never got lost and really added to the storyline. The author was incredibly clever with her writing! There were a fair amount of nerdy puns that I adored. I love that some of these characters came from previous books by this author and now I want to go back and read them! As someone who lived in Philly, a few details were off, but not anything very major. I few actions by main characters weren’t my favorite at the end of the story, but I saw how they were necessary for plot development. Overall, this book was phenomenal - plenty of romance and humor that make for a perfect relaxing read! 4.75⭐️, 2.5🌶
This is a story about Sarah and Brian. Brian had the worst year, his girlfriend broke up with him, he lost his job and he had to move back home to his empty nest parents. He has just moved in with his sister in Philadelphia, where she had offered up her room for him to use, while he gets back on his feet. He didn't expect for his sisters best friend, the ultra-annoying Sarah to be there too. Sarah is having the worst day. Her boyfriend proposed, and when she said "not now" he kicked her out, and she does the walk of shame to the room she used to rent at her best friend Jess's apartment. She didn't expect her ultra annoying (but incredibly hot) brother to be there. Sarah and Brian pull pranks on each other, and their rivalry begins to shift into friendship and something more.
Brian and Sarah were interesting characters. I thought they both were working to figure out their lives and never had experienced love before. I thought this enemies to lovers relationship was different than many others out there, as they truly hated each other, rather than one holding feelings toward each other at some point. Some of their pranks were funny, and I found both characters to be likeable that I could relate to in some ways.
The thing that really brought this book down for me was Jess, the sister/best friend. She came across as so self centered and really didn't deserve forgiveness from Brian or Sarah. She was so hypocritical too, with hiding things from Sarah and then being mad about what Sarah did. I also thought that Tyler (the ex-boyfriend of Sarah's) was absolutely terrible, and really had no redemption either. He was petty, and a jerk in a lot of ways. I did however like Tasha and Ethan, the two friends that Brian had and thought that they were good adds to the story.
If you like a best friends brother, or enemies to lovers romance, this may be the book for you! Thank you to NetGalley and Red Adept Publishing for a copy of this book. All opinions are 100%
What a fun read! Loved Sarah and Brian and their story arc. Well paced, fleshed out characters and lots of description so you feel like you are right there in the book with them. Philly is not a frequently used "big city" in novels, and it was neat to read a book set there.
This is a very cute read, one that is well thought and cute to read from start to finish. This is my first Casey Dembowski but it likely wont be my last.
What I liked: Well a lot honestly, the character development was excellent. I think this has got to be the second or maybe third in a series and I didn’t miss much coming in part way, which is always outstanding when an author can do that well. I thought the development of the main characters was don’t in a way that made me feel they were realistic and reasonable in their growth. I personally love when authors place characters in non-profit since it’s so near and dear to my heart and she did a great job with developing details like that without overwhelming readers. The ending tricked me a bit and I’m glad it did, it came out far better than I would have expected and I don’t feel easily tricked these days.
What I didn’t like: just a couple notes…it started of a grump / sunshine trope and the grump just kinda went away. Also if Brian was as perceptive as he was to Sarah he would have understood why Jess was having a hard time. While communication will always be key and is the pinnacle of soooooo many books, I would have expected a bit more understanding from him and it isnt addressed.
These are super minor because in the big picture this was a really well written book! 4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sarah just had her boyfriend, Tyler, propose to her, which should be one of the happiest moments or your life. She realized at this moment he was not the person she was meant to spend her life with and declined. Which lead Tyler to immediately kicking Sarah out of his house. Sarah had no choice but to show up on the doorstep of her best friend (and old roommate) Jess’s apartment.
Brian had his girlfriend Hannah propose to him. He knew that she was not the one he was meant to spend his life with. He declined. He also lost his job. To make matters worse, right after they broke up Hannah ending up marrying someone that she had a marriage pact with that he was unaware of. Rather than go back home to his parents’ house, he decided to move in with his sister, Jess, while he was getting back up on his feet.
The problem with Jess’s apartment was that there were only 2 rooms. Who was going to occupy the other room? The old roommate/best friend Sarah or the brother Brian?! It doesn’t help their situation that Sarah and Brian have always hated each other either.
Sometime into their living arrangement (which consists of Sarah in the room and Brian in an air mattress in the living room), Jess suggested that Brian goes as Sarah’s fake boyfriend to a work gala. She thinks of this plan because Sarah’s ex-boyfriend, Tyler, will be attending with his new supermodel girlfriend. Sarah and Brian start to realize through this fake dating arrangement that they may not have hated each other as much as originally thought.
I don’t want to share too many details to spoil the book. This book was charming, sweet, funny, sad, and spicy all in one. After the 2nd half of the book, I was racing to find out how Sarah and Brian’s story ended. If you like romances with a sprinkle of spice, pick this one up!!!!

Tropes: Forced Proximity, Fake Dating, Best Friends Brother, Enemies to Lovers
I thought this was a really cute Romcom that was easy to read. When Sarah declines a marriage proposal and has to crawl back to her best friend Jess’ apartment with her tail between her legs, she thinks it really can’t get much worse – until she sees Jess’ brother, Brian, also is staying with her. There is only one guest room, Sarah’s room from when they are roommates. In an attempt to get back at her ex, Sarah begins to fake date Brian until one day when things are taken to far. The two have to keep their relationship a secret from Jess as they both swore to her that they’d never hook up / date, etc. Needless to say, they fall for each other, Jess finds out and gets pissed. I enjoyed the banter between Sarah and Brian and the little quirks that came with the book. I liked the setting being in Philly because it’s one of my favorite cities. The only thing I wasn’t sold on was the spice, the writing felt awkward. But overall, really solid book.
Rating 3.5/5 rounded down
Brian and Sarah are both going through major life events that wind them up fighting over his sister Jess’ spare bedroom in Philadelphia. Brian and Sarah have been enemies since the day they met, and nothing seems worse to them than having to share a small apartment. As their fight over the only room and bed escalates, Brian and Sarah start to realize the line between love and hate might be pretty thin after all.
This is the first book of Casey Dembrowski’s that I’ve read and I enjoyed it so much! This is such a well done romcom, with lots of levity and laughter and very little drama overall. The banter between Sarah and Brian was witty and quick, and had me laughing out loud multiple times. Watching their relationship change from enemies to sort of friends and then to lovers was a joyful ride!
The secret romance blowing up the way it did was a little frustrating. Jess did give them every opportunity to tell her the truth, and the way that Sarah wanted to keep lying to her felt really immature. I did like that Sarah was on Brian’s side over the confrontation but I did not like the way Brian pushed her away. Their reconciliation was adorable, though, and almost made up for the angst and drama of the breakup.
Recommended for all romance readers and especially those that love: 🤬enemies to lovers 🛌there’s only one bed🗣️laugh out loud banter 👯♀️best friend’s brother 😈make her ex jealous 🥊 running up the Rocky steps 🤫 secret romance 🤓 gaming parties ❤️🩹 adorable gestures to each other
Sarah’s love life implodes when she turns down a marriage proposal, so she escapes to her best friend’s spare room. When Brian’s personal and professional life tanks and he can’t bear living with his parents a second longer, he decides to crash in his sister’s spare room. Unfortunately, it is the same spare room and Sarah and Brian cannot stand each other. This book starts out a bit frantic and I wasn’t sure that I liked the writing, however, as the two characters get to know each other I began to enjoy the story much more. There was a bit of unbelievable drama (in my opinion) but overall this was a fun summer read.
I received a digital advanced review copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
Ugh I loved everything about this book and the banter killed me. Which is why I’ll be highly recommending it when it comes out
Get A Room is a forced-proximity enemies-to-lovers roommance, except it's also forbidden love and best friend's brother and fake dating. So many tropes rolled into one book! This book brings us back to Brian, who was Hannah's ex in When We're Thirty. It was so much fun to see where he ended up after their breakup! Hannah and Brian had ended things because they just weren't at the same place in their lives. Brian was hurt by the end of their relationship, but finally bounces back in Get A Room. Hannah was in one scene, and it was neat to see where she ended up. We also got to see a bit of Corey and Andi from The Corey Effect. I love it when beloved past characters show up for a few scenes!
Brian and Sarah's banter in Get A Room was unmatched. I really enjoyed their pranks, bets, and schemes to retain control of Jess's spare room. Brian was such a sweetie (and so willing to do favors and buy things for his sister and love interest!).
Get A Room can definitely be read as a standalone, but doing so will make you want to pick up Dembowski's previous titles too. I'm looking forward to seeing what she writes next!
This is such a sweet, fun, quick read! Sarah & Brian are fighting over the guest bedroom in Brian's sister's/Sarah's best friend's home. They develop a quick deal on who gets the room & then bargain it over favors for each other in social circles, favors, etc. Brian ends up being Sarah's date/fake boyfriend for work social events so she can save face in front of her ex-boyfriend & the two start having real feelings for one another, all while Brian is trying to figure out his life, getting a new job and his own place. These two have such a fun relationship to read from start to finish, as annoying frenemies to secret lovers, to outright couple! I loved how both of them were dealing with their own drastic life changes before making any big decisions, but wish they could've been a little more honest with each other & Jess sooner (might've saved some unnecessary miscommunication & hurt feelings) but I understood & appreciated why both Sarah & Brian wanted to be sure to preserve their relationships with Jess & each other, not risk losing more in their lives.
Overall, I really liked this story, & I felt Sarah & Brian had a sweet, fun, unique story within this "only one bed" trope that I really enjoyed!
Thank you for the ARC!!!
This was fresh and cute!
I enjoyed the story, the writing, the characters and the romance that developed naturally.

My review:
This was such a cute and sweet rom-com! Brian and Sarah really held the story and their banter was amazing!
Jess was a bit annoying most of the time and I didn’t understand why she was still bothered for something that happened in high school —especially when she was the one who had the idea of them fake dating. I feel like her character needed more addressing because it seemed like she was hiding something we’ll never know about.
Anyway, I was hooked since the beginning on Brian and Sarah’s relationship. Overall, it was a nice and enjoyable read.
My favourite quotes:
"She rested her head over his heart, and it felt right in a way nothing had in his whole life. She fit. Sarah Webb, the bane of his existence for the last eight years, fit perfectly.”
This was a fun romantic comedy with exceptional bantering. The main characters really held the story together and the forced proximity made the story. Some of the side characters were a little flat and annoying to me, but it didn't stop me from enjoying the story.
This was an adorable book. Several familiar tropes here - forbidden romance, one bed, enemies-to-lovers - but it didn't feel forced or hokey. I read this one in a single vacation day and it was perfect as a quick, feel-good beach read.
If you're looking for the perfect romcom beach read look no further! Absolutely adored Brian and Sarah, The forced proximity, enemies to lovers, fake dating and best friends brother tropes were well executed. I liked the heat and the simmering. I was not a fan of Jess's and I feel like her and Sarah were a bit immature together.
