This thriller simply grabbed me at the start and didn't let me until the end. The plot, characters, and story are very nicely built. I had to see what would happen next, all those twists and turns kept me glued to the story guessing and I was surprised by the end. This is my first book by this author and it won't be my last.
A dark academia about a tenured professor whose life quickly goes downhill. It all starts the day a popular student on campus is found dead by suicide. He has a diary in which he rags upon Prof. Wegner and his demanding grades. These entries leak out and student outrage turns to blaming the professor for killing the student. But this is only the first catastrophe for Mitch Wegner.
This has a fantastic dark academia atmosphere and reminds me of Samantha Downing's "For Your Own Good". Mitch is an unlikable character but one becomes frustrated with him on just how much can go wrong for him. This was a page-turner for me and I couldn't wait to find out what was going on. The twists were shocking and the ending unexpected. A unique thriller.
