I cried ugly tears all through this book. I will warn you against reading this in public as people are going to look at you funny. But throughout the tears, the overwhelming love that Jace and Andi have for each other almost from the moment that they met each other stayed with me. I absolutely love love love this book. This will be on my favorite romance books list and I will definitely be returning to it whenever I am in a book slump. This line by Jace sums up how beautifully written this book is, “You’ve had my always since the day we met.” Ooooooh the feels. I would definitely recommend this book albeit with a box of tissues.

Thank you NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

Wow, just wow! I finished reading The Space Between a few days ago, but I had to hold it close before I was ready to share a review. This book tells the story of Jace and Andi, two teenagers who fall in love, and it follows their story for almost 15 years. I love these two characters! This book is an emotional roller coaster, and I was sobbing by the end. To me, that is the best kind of story! This will definitely be one of my top reads of 2024, and I highly recommend it! I will be reading more books by Sarah Ready. Thank you, NetGalley, for the advance reader copy of this emotional book!

I’m not crying, you are!
What a beautiful story, true love really does conquer all. Jace is about to escape the place that constantly reminds him of happier days, Andi is working towards joining the family empire. Jace and Andi should not work but they do, right up until one fateful night where a number of misunderstandings, miscommunication and ok, outright lies ruin everything. Can Jace and Andi work their way back to each other or has too much happened?
I really connected with Andi and felt the highs and lows of life with her. The character development of Reid had me wondering if Jace really was the ‘one’.
Brilliant! Lost one star because i found the beginning a bit slow but overall i loved it!

Jace and Andie are meant to be. Set in idyllic NewYork City, at 17 years old Andie saves Jace from a mugging in central park. Jace is a teenager from humble beginnings and a natural talented musician.

When she is not wandering Central park in street clothes, Andie is Andrea. The daughter of a wealthy NY property tycoon who lives the lavish lifestyle at high end parties. Seen as a direct reflection of her parents successes, she is forced to keep up appearances with her perfect manners and designer clothes. Her parents want to make all her decisions. All Andie wants is to be normal, to go on tour with the band that Jace is in. Life has different ideas for Andrea, and it brings her on a wild ride.

This is romance done right. There was humour, drama, tragedy, and happiness. The characters were evocative, and I felt they matured as they got older to fit with the story. Emotions will flood off the page into the heart of the reader. The first of Sarah Readys books that I have read and I would read more. Prose flows really well, the plot has depth. A pleasure to read.

The Space Between is the first novel by Sarah Ready I have read and I am ready to correct that as I couldn't put it down. I am not a major romance reader but both the cover and description intrigued me.
I absoulutely loved this book and the relationships between Jace and his family as well the love that grows between Jace & Andi. There was a few moments where I guessed what was gonna happen next but overall this was a great story.

I highly recommend this book!

3.5-Stars

I’m a newbie to Ready’s books and was looking forward to The Space Between, an emotional standalone novel that kept me stuck to the pages. Divided into three parts, she takes her readers on a journey, spanning over the years with an estranged friendship gap that sometimes felt too hurtful for my comfort reading. Not only do misunderstandings tear two of the author’s young protagonists apart, but the loss of their first young love is entwined with tragedy.

It’s a very rich-girl-meets-poor-boy romance. However, Andrea Leighton-Hughes, aka Andi, is far from honest with Jace Morgan, so when he opens his heart to her and she, in turn, encourages him to do what he’s good at; overcome his fears and share his talent with the world, I got a hunch that things would get complicated. But never could I have imagined just how much. Brace yourselves! It was like watching an imminent train wreck you can’t look away from.

Whilst Jace, his brothers and their buddies hadn’t had an easy childhood, it delighted me to see how they stuck together through thick and thin. Understandably, Andi’s appearance felt like an intrusion, and once trust issues come to a head, the story’s tone changes–the space between. She didn’t pull on my heartstrings as much as I would have liked until this point. Now I had the opportunity to see what she was really made of, what the Leighton-Hughes expected of their daughter and how she’d navigate this part of her life. Ready’s character growth in keeping with the narrative momentum impressed me–neither Andi nor Jace had ever forgotten what was theirs–yet they’d toughened up; got their act together.

Reid Shiling plays a significant role in a spell of events that gave me much food for thought. I didn’t dislike Andi’s childhood-friend-cum-enemy in the least. Okay. Guys will be guys; they make mistakes, and I’d even go so far as to say that in the not-so-pretty picture, his nobility shone through just when it should have. Certainly, Jace and Andie’s story wouldn’t have had the same impact on me without him. I cried! I thanked the heavens that he had an angel by his side in his hour of need. Later on, unexpected support from a family member made my heart sing.

For the lack of scrutinous editing/proofreading, I couldn’t award Ready’s YA novel five stars despite wanting to. The story’s premise is incredibly well-thought-out; I tried to put the book down to no avail; nonetheless, I simply had trouble getting my head around some of the inaccurate facts. I’d rather not say what stood out because I hope future readers won’t pick up on them. Unfortunately, I did. That said, for those who enjoy riding a rollercoaster of emotions, give Ready’s latest offering a chance!

A copy of this book was kindly given to me by W.W. Crown through NetGalley for an honest review.

Sarah Ready has become one of my favorite authors over the past couple years. She blends emotion, angst, romance, and heart into beautiful stories where everything isn't always easy but the HEA is well earned.

In the Space Between we have Jace and Andrea who both have their own struggles and difficulties. He has lost both his parents and lives and plays music with his brothers. She is from a wealthy family with high expectations and plans for her that aren't always her own.

From the beginning they have a connection and chemistry that are undeniable. However, their path is not easy, and I felt so much for them. Sarah's writing is emotional and engaging. I was hooked from the first page and couldn't wait to see how they got their HEA. This is her best book yet!

✨Review✨ The Space Between- Sarah Ready- M

Genre: Contemporary Romance
TW: Please Check
Spice: Open Door
Thank you NetGalley and W.W. Crown for this E-Arc in exchange for an honest review

Plot:
This story follows the life of Jace, an aspiring musician, and Andrea, a lonely heiress. It’s a story about how they fall madly in love and what tears them apart. It’s about finding your place in life and the space between those major life events.

Thoughts:
It has been a while since I read a book that had tears streaming down my cheeks. This book tore my heart to pieces, mend it back together, tore it apart again, and glued it back together. This book kept having twists and turns in unexpected moments that kept me on the edge of my seat while listening and I loved every one of those moments! Sarah Ready has an incredible ability to create well-written characters that you fall in love with and root for!

If you are looking for a romance that touches upon grief, family dynamics, loss, found family, love and second chances then please give this book a chance.

I will say I went into this book entirely blind, and it was quite a shock for me. This was my second Sarah Ready book, my first was “French Holiday.” I went into this book expected a very cutesy romance, with crazy lobster scenes and great banter, but I was entirely wrong, it was the opposite. It was raw, heartbreaking, and heartwarming. I can’t wait to read more from her because she does both styles divinely.

The only criticism that I have of this book is the fact that at times does feel like it drags on in certain areas, but don’t let that stop you. Push through because it is well worth it for that ending!

This was not the light hearted read of author Ready's French Holiday. This one has love, and loss, more love, and more loss before the final HEA.

I am not generally fond of romances that make me cry, plus the betrayal (not by the MCs) that causes the 'space between' was very difficult for me to read. That said, the secondary romance was very sweet amid the sadness and the author did an excellent job of redeeming one character while growing another, so I guess I will have to forgive the author for making me cry. I do also appreciate that time is allowed to pass after a certain event before the MCs are ready for their HEA. I do wish there had been just a tad more of the male lead's POV during the middle section of the book to keep me connected to him during that time.

But still, the bittersweet secondary romance made this for me despite the tears.

Now that the book is out there is a bonus POV on the author's site (a spoilery one, so read it after)

🌻ARC/ALC Review🌻

The Space Between by @sarahreadyauthor

I want to start off with I don’t think I actually read the description for this book and picked it solely because it was written by Sarah Ready. I have enjoyed Sarah’s books since I listened to her ALC of Josh and Gemma Make a Baby.

So when I started the audio for this book I was getting frustrated with why I wasn’t getting into it and connecting and at about 50% I finally decided to ditch the audio (after trying multiple speeds to see if that was the problem) and go with the ebook and man that saved this book.

I have listened to Sarah’s last 3 books as ALCs and loved them all but this one just wasn’t hitting. But once I started to read it, like actually read the ebook I fell in love. In this book you don’t get just one love story but two great love stories and I absolutely loved it.

I would recommend this book, just maybe not the audio. Also be warned you will need some tissues on stand by.

🎢 Review: The Space Between Us by Sarah Ready @sarahreadyauthor 🎢

The Space Between is a love story that spans a few years between the main characters. It is a story of friendships, found family, and growing up and finding yourself.

This book is a classic friend turned lovers, but misunderstandings turn the life trajectory in a completely different path. Then life takes a turn, in a surprise someone swoops you up and you start living again. The difference is that I connected with these characters. There's something raw about Jace and Andrea. Jace wants to make big with music, and Andrea, who's super rich, wants out. But life is never simple.

I really liked this book and stayed up pretty late to finish it. I just wanted to know how it ended, though I had a clue, but the part of the story I really liked would be a spoiler, so I did not include it here.

Thank you, W.W. Crown and Netgalley for this book. All opinions are my own.

CW: Illness, death, grief, there are some descriptions of shooting, assault, but nothing graphic.

Truly an emotional rollercoaster following two strangers destined to meet, fall in love, and change each other’s lives! When life gets in the way, can Andie and Jace’s love withstand the obstacles along the way?

I think I cried for at least half of this book, but I kinda loved that? This book had some really great moments that I didn’t see coming. This is the kind of book that rips your heart out, and then piece by piece puts it back together until it’s better than new. Definitely recommend this one one!

This is the second Sarah Ready book I have read, and I think she has sealed her spot on my Auto-Buy Author List with this one!

I would like to thank NetGalley and W.W. Crown for a copy of this digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is one of my top reads of the year! Sarah delivers an amazing story filled with true love, and perseverance. I felt so many emotions as I listened this book - heartache, sadness, joy and happiness - there may have been a few tears. Jace and Andrea come from two different worlds but their love for one another is one for the ages. Andrea is one tough cookies, sets her own path and is very committed to Jace. Jace loves Andrea with all his heart and will stop at nothing to make sure she is safe, happy and well taken care of. Their love journey goes through many ups and downs, misunderstandings, fighting the people that are working against them but ultimately love wins. This story will stick with me for some time as it is so beautifully written.

The Space Between is Sarah Ready’s new adult stand-alone dramatic romance. It’s nothing like her most previous romantic comedy, The French Holiday; instead, its emotional tone is closer to Gemma and Josh’s two stories. I felt like The Space Between is a mash-up between Love Story and Daisy Jones and The Six.

Andrea Leighton-Hughes is a 17-year-old girl whose wealthy family could be the Trumps. She has been a pawn in her parent’s games since before she was born and was used by her elementary school friends to the point that she only trusts her middle brother, Elliott. She lives her life hiding behind a mask of uncaring. Her life changes when she meets a handsome boy playing his guitar in Central Park one evening, a few months before they are due to graduate from high school.

Jace Morgan’s beloved parents were murdered when he was 13, and he’s being raised by his two older brothers in a flea-bag apartment in the Bronx. Their family was all about music, and the Morgan Brothers Band continues to play almost nightly while they try to get discovered. Their band includes two troubled neighbors, Dallas and Pauly, who are brothers of the heart. During the day, Jace attends a private high school on scholarship and is resented by the wealthier boys.

After a few months of sneaking out to see Jace as “Andi”, Andrea’s identity is revealed when his band is hired last-minute to perform at a gala that her parents are hosting. When Andrea’s parents give her an ultimatum, she abandons her Manhattan life and hits the road with Jace and his band. Her brother Elliott slips her a suitcase containing some clothes and $2000 in cash.

Jace’s oldest brother, Dean acts as the band’s manager and resents Andi’s influence on Jace. Jace was credited as having the best voice, but he was unable to sing in front of anyone until Andi instructed him to just look at her when he sings. When they have been on the road for seven months, a producer expresses interest in them, and then multiple tragedies occur that night.

The second section of the book fast-forwards to eight years later, when both Andrea and Jace are 26 years old. Andrea is working 18-hour days for her father and her heart is hardened. The Morgan Brothers have many hit songs playing on the radio, mainly love songs that Andrea tries to ignore. Andrea starts seeing Reid Shilling, her childhood nemesis. Will Andrea take a chance on love with Reid or will Jace magically re-enter her life? I can’t reveal any spoilers.

While I normally don’t enjoy reading books that contain a lot of angst, I couldn’t put The Space Between down! Readers won’t relate exactly to the characters because they’re rich or famous, but they are described so well that we experience their emotions right alongside them. This story is an emotional roller-coaster of a book that provides behind-the-scenes details about both a musician’s life and an ultra-wealthy business shark’s life. The ending is worth the ride, I promise.

I received an Advance Review Copy (ARC) from NetGalley and W.W. Crown Publishing for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Jace and Andrea (Andi) are two characters that you can’t help rooting for. They meet in Central Park and their connection is immediate. Unfortunately, no one else understands their relationship. She is very wealthy and he is not. In fact, his parents died and his two brothers raised him, all while being in a band (which is the one thing their father instilled in them).

A heartbreaking, heartwarming story about love, family, trials and how a person overcomes the hard parts of life. I liked the dual point of view, but wish there was more from Jace’s when they were apart. Once again, Ms. Ready wove a beautiful tale of love, heartbreak, and determination to be better. I really enjoyed this book.

I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

This is probably my favourite of Sarah Ready’s books so far, and several of her previous ones have been among my top reads!

This has to be one of the best books I’ve read, with massive character development, for Jace, between the members of Jace’s family, Andrea accepting her fate, as well as their former classmate who plays a major part in their story. I enjoyed every moment and couldn’t put it down - I binged the whole 13 hours/500 pages in a single sitting! It’s truly that amazing! A true 5-star read!

The time jump idea isn’t normally something I am too fond of, but it really works well for this storyline. I really wanted to smack a lot of the characters - a sign that Ready wrote them perfectly! This book made me go through so many emotions in such a short time, but mostly they were just plain happiness. It’s brilliant and it’s hard to say too much without giving away the plot. Andrea is a fantastic character while Jace is perfectly flawed but lovable.

I definitely recommend this one to all, but go for the ebook (audio has a name pronounciation problem).

I received an advance review copy from NetGalley and W.W. Crown (Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Members' Titles), and this is my honest feedback.

The Space Between is an amazing epic love story. It just might be the best love story I have ever read. I couldn't have loved it more.

Andi and Jace come from different worlds. She is a socialite and he is from the wrong side of the tracks. Yet they fall in love and start a whirlwind love affair. Their love is everything they need until life tears them apart.

The Space Between starts as a beautiful YA romance and then it rips your heart out. In the best way. Like a guttural punch. It hurt. A LOT. I needed to take a break.

There are so many different types of love in this book. Loving with your heart, loving with your head and loving with everything in the space between. (see what I did there 😉)

Simply, beautiful.

This is the first novel by Sarah Ready I have read and I am more than ready to correct that now I’ve finished The Space Between.

What a beautiful story of love, humanity, class, mistakes, music and second chances and I implore you to pick this up.

Ready’s writing is beautiful, so descriptive and compelling whilst remaining truly accessible. You fully believe in the authenticity of the characters and I their heartbreaking and heartwarming story is one not to be missed!
