I like Sarah Ready, I always know seeing something new from her that it will be worth my time.
Admittedly I wasn’t super drawn to the initial premise and unfortunately this did up end up being just so-so for me. But, I’m putting that down to the fact that second chance/ torn apart by circumstance does nothing for me as a trope. This book really is a little more melodrama than romance at times which just isn’t my vibe. Still I ended up getting through this pretty quickly and did enjoy it.
All said, I’ll be putting this one right in the middle. Not a new fave but it’s definitely a good read.
If you’re more into dramatic romances and have the patience for a slow burn, misunderstandings, and waiting for the right time relationship you’ll likely enjoy this a lot more than I did! The characters and their relationship was well done and didn’t bother me at all, it just wasn’t my speed. I think I was just in the wrong headspace for the particular type of slice of life this was.
This lyrical, beautiful and emotional book is a story of first loves and soulmates, smiles and dancing in the park, heartbreak and forgiveness, redemption and healing, big dreams and family ties, and I will carry Andi, Jace, the boys of the band and their found families in my heart for a long time.
"I look into his eyes, sink into their blue-green depths, and decide to join him in the space between the inhale and the exhale. Just there, with him."
This is my second audiobook form Sarah Ready and OMG I'm even more in love with her writing. My first audiobook was French Holiday and if you haven't listened to that one grab it! So when I was allowed to listen to another book I was ecstatic. This book had me feeling all kinds of emotions while listening. Like her other books, I found this book to be heartwarming, heartbreaking, emotional, riveting, and sweet. The narrators were wonderful. I HIGHLY recommend this audiobook!

The Space Between is a thought-provoking book that encourages readers to embrace a life without regrets.
💕I enjoyed French Holiday and Josh and Gemma so I was excited to read this new one by Sarah Ready. And..WOW 💕
A fateful night in Central Park leads Andrea and Jace to one life-changing conclusion-they're meant to be. Andrea Leighton-Hughes is no stranger to wealth-she's the daughter of one of the richest men in Manhattan. Jace Morgan is no stranger to hardship-he lost his parents at a young age, and he and his brothers struggle every day to get by. Andrea defies her family and promises Jace forever. Jace defies his brothers and promises Andrea always. But sometimes always doesn't mean forever, and forever doesn't mean always.
This love story follows Jace and Andi (Andrea)’s struggle to stay together - and prove that love defeats all obstacles - but life tries to prove them wrong. There are so many frustrating, gut-wrenching obstacles.
There are few readers that can relate to Andrea’s immense wealth or Jace’s music stardom BUT there are many who can relate to the obstacles they face. Love and loss, family bonds and commitments, betrayal, and - most importantly - the courage of staying true to oneself.
The story reminded me that love and pain sometimes go hand in hand but they are not equally bound. Love doesn’t fade, but pain does. I was emotionally captivated as I followed Andrea and Jace’s rollercoaster - as they tried to overcome life’s challenges to live a life that is true to themselves and to make choices that align with their personal values and desires.
🎧📚I read and listened to this book and found that the narration enhanced my enjoyment. Dual narration is a favorite of mine. Each of the narrators in this telling infused just the right amount of emotion without overshadowing the narrative.
Thank you @netgalley and @ibpalovesindies for the chance to read and listen to the advance copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This was such a great story.
These two come from different worlds. But she finds in him what's she's been missing in life. You'd just wanna call her "poor little rich girl" but to be honest she is. She has such complicated relationships with her family that it makes you really sad.
And I was feeling like flashbacks to like The Outsiders with Jacee and his family. His upbringing was sad too. To have such a support ripped away was heartbreaking. Whew I wanted to fight his brothers.
The second half was so emotional. You had a girl who was closed off from EVERYTHING brought back to life in such a sad way. Whew, I cried, I really did.
This is my favorite read of 2023 so far. I hybrid read the book while listening to the audio.
I laughed, I was angry, I cried (a lot), and I fell in love with the journey of these characters. Like many books in this genre, there are absolutley areas where you have to suspend your disbelief, but I felt that was easy in this novel. Sarah Ready did an excellent job developing life circumstances and character development that let those more unbelievable situations have a modicum of belief.
I loved every minute of this, even the parts where I was sobbing. This is ej excellent exploration of different types of love, bonds between family, and long journeys that get us where we were always supposed to be. RUN to get this as soon as it is available.
Both audiobook narrators did an excellent job conveying the emotions and shifts in the characters throughout the story.
Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are mine.
After meeting each other as teenagers Jace and Andi fall in love instantly, they try to make their relationship work but due to family interference and a difference in social class, it doesn't work out. After years of not seeing each other the only question to ask is will they finally end up together.
This is by far my favorite Sarah Ready book (I've read four so far), it had me in tears and rooting for Andi and Jace to overcome the obstecals they faced in their relationship.
Oh my what a book!!! Parts of this book had me angry. Parts of this book made me happy. Parts of this book had me sobbing. AND I loved every second of it!!!
This is my first Sarah Ready book and definitely won’t be my last!!!

The Space Between

Andrea (Andi) Leighton-Hughes, born into wealth, has everything except love. Until she meets Jace Morgan.
Jace is the opposite of Andi. He’s a gifted musical prodigy, comes from a loving family, and he knows the rougher side of life.
Andi and Jace meet in the park and an unexpected and exciting friendship is built. Friendship turns into romance but when things fall apart they are both devastated. Will they find each other again? What will they do in The Space Between when they are apart?
This book takes you on an emotional roller coaster. From love, loss, new beginnings, betrayal, lies, friendship, heartbreak, and happiness. The writer evokes ALL the emotions so beautifully. I was routing for the characters, yelling (in my head), disappointed, astonished, happy, and on edge to find out what happened. Definitely will be in my top 10 of 2023.

This book is such an amazing story of love, passion, heartbreak, & loss. It was a roller-coaster ride and I am glad I took it.
As a music lover, lyrics play a huge part in my life. They can transport me to a particular moment or memory. SonI truly resonated with Andi and Jace's connection through his music.
When their love starts, you think nothing could tear them apart. A young love so incredibly strong you can feel it. Much like Andi, I never saw what was coming.
Our main characters are torn apart and have to find their way back to each other. But what happens in the Space Between?
Can all be okay again?
Will their love conquer all?
Give me a lyric...
An amazing story from one of my favourite author . It talks about two people Andi and Jace from two different sides of the word . She is very rich but down to earth and him lives in Bronx with his brothers after their parents deaths . He lives for the music and plays at the parks with his brothers and that is how they first met . They became best friends but everyone want them apart . Will their love come stronger ?
I received this book from net galley and the publisher as an ARC. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own .
I couldn't help but wonder why things got complicated when I first started reading this story. But despite my first uncertainty, I genuinely like this book.
A lovely love tale was the beginning of it all, but something went wrong along the road. I had a hard time comprehending why and how these tragic events occurred.
I was discouraged and found it difficult to understand the reasons for the grief. But as the tale went on, I began to understand more.
By the time the book was completed, I was overcome with a range of feelings, but thankfully the majority of them were good.
Firstly, what beautiful writing! This was so captivating and immersive which is mainly thanks to the gorgeous writing. This book took me a chapter or two to fully get into it but once it hooked me I was absolutely invested. This is a bit of an emotional rollercoaster with a couple of twists and turns and a really enjoyable read.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I have been a fan of Sarah Ready’s books for years now and when I read that she was coming out with a new book, I knew I would request an advanced copy the moment it hit Netgalley. However, I was definitely unprepared for just how different—in a good way!—THE SPACE BETWEEN would be from the previous books I’d read by Ready.
Though it took me a bit to get into the story, I quickly found myself racing through chapters to see just how the love story between our two main characters, Jace, an orphaned musician who, with his brothers, hopes to take the world by storm to fulfill the dreams of his very-much-in-love parents, and Andi, the girl he meets and falls in love with instantly who comes from a life of privilege but lacking in love.
Broken into three parts and spanning about 15 years, Ready writes a story so beautiful, so heartbreaking, and so full of love and its many forms. There was growth for many of the characters, especially one who readers will initially hate, yet quickly come to love in Part Two. And while many will say the story was a bit long, I think the beginning, showing the initiation of Andi and Jace’s story, was necessary.
Andi was such a sympathetic and relatable character that I’ll be thinking of her, and the love she experiences within the pages of THE SPACE BETWEEN for a long time.
I started off, listening to this book as an audiobook however, it got so good that I couldn’t help but to have to read and listen simultaneously. From the prologue, I was absolutely captured. Andi and Jace has such a palpable chemistry that I was instantly connected. The narrators told their story so well, and the voices made it so entertaining to listen to. The plot line of this book was so well executed. I did not expect anything that was in part two, but by the end of that part, I was sobbing. I felt so deeply for these characters and even reading into part three, I kept wiping tears as the story completely enraptured me. I will say, there was a happily ever after, which completely makes it worth reading, but even so the story was told flawlessly. I didn’t expect some of the twists that came with the story, but that’s what made it even better. The side characters had the same depth and emotion as the main characters and I fell in love with them too. This tells the story of true love, the love that we all search for. This book very much reminds me of Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren and Love, Rosie by Cecilia Ahern, in the best ways. This is a book that will be sticking with me for a long time because of its beautiful love story and poignant characters. An absolute must read! 5⭐️, 2🌶
This was GREAT! It started out with a traditional love story that seemed a bit predictable, feeling a lot like a Romeo and Juliet retelling. As the book progressed the storyline went from great to amazing. I was laughing, giggling, fuming, sobbing actual tears, and back to giggling again. There are two explicitly spicy scenes that are delectably good! The moral of the story that I interpreted is that life has a boundless amount of paths and sometimes we are pushed onto a path not of our choosing but we have to keep the fire in our soul lit and live life to the fullest.
Wow! This story is a saga for sure. It’s so good. Such a beautiful love story.
I enjoyed the audiobook too. One of narrator’s voices was similar to the voice of Cameron Diaz. The story flowed well on audio.
Thank you to the NetGalley and the publisher for the advance digital and audio copies of this boo
This was amazingggg! I loved the romance between the two characters and it was just so cute from the getgo and kept my attention all the way through! I can’t recommend this book enough!
4.5 stars
After reading French Holiday by Sarah Ready, I immediately had to read this. What an emotional ride this was.
Jace Morgan and Andi (Andrea) Leighton-Hughes meet when they are 17 and their connection is instant. But Andi is keeping some secrets, like that fact that she is wealthy and comes from a powerful family. But love, love makes it inconsequential. They know that what they feel is strong and true. But her father warned her, she’d be back. After 6 months of touring with Jace’s families band, she is back and heart broken. And now she is even more of an ice princess that what she was deemed back when she was younger. Now she is steadfast and determined, working practically 7 days a week, 18 hours a day, no life, no fun and absolutely no music.
8 years later, an old friend, Reid Shiling shows up. Andi’s family and Reid’s family are competitors. But Reid starts to bring back some of Andi’s spark and they form a relationship of sorts. But Jace, he always comes back around. But his timing seems to be off, he shows up the night before Andi and Reid are to be married, but there is more at play then what Jace knows.
We watch as the years span and how Jace and Andi seem to orbit each other and how the timing is not quite right. Part III of this book partially broke me. I loved watching Andi grow over the years. I wish we had some of what Jace was up to in that first 8 year span. But Jace passes through every few years and as he grows, he too learns and accepts and loves. Above all else they love. Definitely one click this book today.
Thank you to Netgalley and W.W. Crown for the opportunity to read and review this book.
The Space Between by Sarah Ready is the story of Jace and Andi, two people from absolute opposite lifestyles whose friendship and love story is told from dual point of views.
Andi is a daughter of wealth who is expected to live her life a specific way and Jace is the orphaned son from lower income parents who is trying to be successful in a band with his brothers. The story without giving away spoilers is their lives with contact and without through the years.
I'm already a fan of Sarah Ready and this book does not disappoint. I rooted for Jace and Andi to find their way to each other and was hooked from the Prologue.
I was lucky enough to get this in both ebook and audio, I read the book first and then listened to it. The narrators captured the characters perfectly and drew me into the story.
You won't be disappointed in either version.
