I just loved this book! Such a gorgeous coming of age love story with the most amazing characters I just wanted to know! Loved love loved it!!!!! Such a warm and lovely read
The story was interesting but it just wasn't my cup of tea, it took me a while to get the gist of it, not a big fan of the miscommunication trope.
But overall I'd say it's a nice in-between books reading, other people might love it and I'd understand why.
The Space Between is perfectly marketed as, “an epic love story full of emotional depth, redemption, found family, and the belief that love can heal the world.”
Jace and Andrea found the love of their life at an early age, but the timing simply wasn’t right. After almost a decade apart, the two stumble upon one another at the very place they met and fell in love. Everything seems perfect, except Andrea is set to get married the very next day. Desperate to learn the truth, the two spend the night discussing the real story behind what tore their relationship apart. Will one night be enough for Andrea to call off her wedding, or will outside forces keep the pair apart once more?
Written in four parts, with alternating POVs from both Jace and Andrea, this book covers two decades of time. This book is perfectly structured for telling Jace and Andrea’s entire story. Readers get a comprehensive look at both Jace and Andrea’s lives.
I had the pleasure of both listening to this on audiobook and reading it on ebook. I loved getting to do so because each format offers something special to the story. However, if I had to pick one format for consuming this book, I would say audiobook is the way to go. The narration was expertly done. Both James Fouhey and Rachel Hirsch did a phenomenal job bringing Ready’s story to life.
As a fan of Sarah Ready, I have followed her career for many years. The Space Between, illustrates how she somehow outdoes herself with each and every book. She takes the most unlikable of characters and turns them into ones we root for. This book could have ended a million different ways and I would have been just as happy.
Special thanks to Sarah Ready, Netgalley, and WW Crown for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback.
Born on opposite sides of the track, Jace Morgan and Andrea Leighton-Hughes were a foregone conclusion once they met. In their world, they should not have fit together, but they absolutely did. Jace and his family is very music oriented and have hopes and dreams to share that love of music with the world. Andrea, or Andi, already has her life mapped out for her and being around Jace gives her a freedom that she never had before. I liked how pure their relationship was, the depth of their feelings and how much they admired one another.
However, life had other plans for them so when Jace and Andi go their separate ways because of others conspiring against them, it’s a hard blow for them to recover from. This story has some complex layers dealing with themes of social class, misconceptions, betrayal, wealth, fame and loss. As much as I rooted for Andi and Jace to get their happy ending, I am not the least bit sad that Andi found a reason to smile and be happy again when she was not with Jace. Without spoiling the details, Andi finds a new purpose to share her love and it is a good look on her.
Compared to other books I’ve read by this author, this one has been the most emotion heavy with more intense subplots since all of the main characters go through some incredibly tough circumstances that change who they are. I particularly enjoyed the lesson of never taking love or loved ones for granted and to make everyday matter. Although this one is a departure from the author’s lighter romantic comedies, this one is also a more memorable page turner.
NF 30%. I really wanted to love this book based on the premise and high reviews, but it’s just too YA for me and the author’s obvious lack of firsthand experience about living in NYC is very distracting and keeps taking me out of the story.
Timing is everything and everything happens when is supposed to happen. My mom has always said that and this book is the epitome of that.
Jace and Andrea are meant to be together but their timing is not working for them. I honestly hate the misunderstandings, assumptions and half communication but it happens when you are a teenager and have so many feelings, they are just 18 only at the beginning after all. Sarah Ready has become one of my favourite authors can’t wait to keep reading her work.
This book is an easy read. Simple, spicy romance between an unlikely couple. V is a doctor, while Dave is a bartender. They meet while V is on vacation with her two best friends and the story continues. It's wasn't very unique. I struggled to finish this as it didn't really draw me in
Thank you to Netgalley, the publishers and of course the author for gifting me this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
What an incredible and moving book - it will definitely stay with me for a long time. Full of emotions that have you on your rollercoaster throughout filled with love, heartbreak, tears and cheers. I cannot wait to read more by this author.
Sarah Ready has quickly become an auto-read for me. The Space Between was not what I expected in a good way. We follow the couple through the ups and downs of life doing everything possible to separate them. This is a beautiful emotional story. It broke my heart and put it back together again. The main characters are such strong individuals and so sure of love as teenagers, yet so innocent when it comes to romance as well. To watch them through the story, fall in love, grow up, change, hurt and keep coming to each other by choice or accident is a beautiful story. Get some tissues and a comfy spot, you will cry sad and happy tears with this one.
Loved this book so much, this was everything I needed and wanted to read. Emotional and heartwarming story about never giving up on love.
A heart-wrenching coming of age love story that draws you into the characters with each chapter. Jace and Andi find soulmates in each other in their early teens, despite being from very disparate worlds. Their love story develops and we are taken back to the beauty and awkwardness of young love. The music in guitarist Jace's life makes for a poetic narrative when told in his point of view, which is balanced by the bluntness of Andi's character perspective. They are driven apart by lies and misunderstandings, and are later kept apart by Andi's life-altering decision to help a friend in need.
The characters come to life in this novel. It takes the reader on an emotional journey in a story spanning two decades. The Space Between is an ode to endurance of true love and I truly relished this book.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC and the opportunity to review.
This is the first book I’ve read by Sarah Ready but it won’t be the last. I laughed and I cried a lot. I was full of cold when I read this book so it was a great distraction from feeling sorry for myself for a couple of days. I fell in love with characters I disliked at first. I loved that the story was told from two characters point of view and was told through three parts. Highly recommended and is perfect for those who love happy ever afters with a little drama and angst along the way.
I went into this book expecting a cheesy, love-filled romance that would be sweet, quick, and then done. What I didn't expect was to grow so invested. I had to know what happened next and why. I couldn't stop rooting for the two main characters. If you are looking for your next romance read, this book should be a top contender.
This book was heartbreaking but I love it nonetheless. I cannot express how much this book just made me feel so much emotions. I want to relive it and enjoy it once more!
Thank you Netgalley for this amazing work from a new favourite author!
I could not get enough of this heartbreaking romance. I've already recommended it to readers who enjoyed The Light Between Us and Carley Fortune romance novels. Hoping to read more from this author!
This is my 5th Sarah Ready book and man do I love her!
I listened to French Holiday a couple months ago and I fell in love with the laugh out loud hilarity and the characters. That book quickly got added to my 2023 Top Reads list. I listened to her Josh & Gemma duo and a novella next and both were great but French Holiday still had favorite—along comes The Space Between & now I am lost and unable to choose a favorite.
This book has heart and took me back and forth on an emotional ride. There’s been some sad/emotional in the previous books I’ve enjoyed by her, but not like this—I recommend lotion or aloe infused tissues as you will need them more than once.
Absolutely a 5⭐️ and now I need to go push everything else down the TBR and devour the rest of her books immediately!
Highly entertaining and emotionally thrilling adventure. Really enjoyed this emotional, sexy, fun and action-packed journey filled with engaging charters, witty dialog, heart racing twists and undeniable passion, was a great read from beginning to end.
This is the first book I've read by Sarah Ready and all I can is I'm hooked! I couldn't put the book down. I was so absorbed in the opposites attract romance between Jace and Andrea. I've become a new fan of Sarah Ready..
Jase a struggling musician from the Bronx meets Andi from a wealthy New York family in Central Park.
They fall in love and promise to be together forever., but what does fate have in store?
I loved this book, a nice change from crime or books that are deep and meaningful.
Such a cute, cozy story! I love that it was unpredictable and not the typical storylines that we are all used to. I'm going to have to dive into more of Ready's stories.
