Kitty wants to help the fight against the Nazis. In the fight, she goes underground in France and looses contact with Edgar. The story is a real page turner that keeps you wanting to see what is going to happen. Some of the characters from the first book appear in the second book and they are easy to keep track of who is who. You think you know what is going to happen, you get it wrong as the author takes the story another way. Great reading.
I received an ARC from the author through NetGalley and I am leaving a review by my own choice.

I thoroughly enjoyed the continuing saga of Kitty, Edgar and their friends who are caught in a most difficult time in history. Although this is a fictional account, it is representative of the life that many experienced during these turbulent years. The bravery and determination of the resistance fighters is quite admirable.

The action-packed plot of this book truly kept my interest throughout, and I did not want to put it down. I enjoyed the first book in this series, but I felt that this one really was more exciting and suspenseful. I loved how the author expertly wove in secrets and clues that only became apparent toward the end of the book. As this one ends on a major cliffhanger, I am anxiously awaiting the third installment!

I would highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys WWII fiction.

Wonderful to follow Kitty's story in her bid to assist the resistance against the Nazi's. She has to draw on all her emotions and find strength in the face of adversity. This novel is set in the early 40's and follows Kitty around Europe in her bid to rescue refugees and take them to a place of safety. And this takes her further and further away from the love of her life, her Husband Edgar.
A gripping story that I couldn't put down. An excellent example a perfect historical fiction novel.
I would advise readers to read book 1 in the series An American Wife to meet Kitty and discover the back story

An American Wife in Paris (The Diplomat's Wife) by Chrystyna Lucyk-Berger

Wow, this is a breathtaking book. It's well written, with the plot, characters, and overall story (I will not spoil the storyline) it's a book that takes you to a scene as if you're living it in the moment.

Fantastic book. This book does not disappoint. The story keep you on the edge of your seat. I couldn’t put it down. I read it in two days. There is so much to unfold. There is mystery, danger, and romance. If you like historical fiction then this book is for you. I loved the first book The American Wife and I can’t wait for book 3. I highly recommend this book. I received a ARC of this book and this review is my own

An amazing historical novel set during WWII, with spies and romance and people that like to make things go boom! Very realistic. True to the times and the way the war played out, with people being executed for being Jewish while trying to sabotage the Nazi machine, and machine it was. Our heroes, Edgar and Kitty, kept being separated while trying to help the British spy networks defeat a virulent foe, Kitty being g one of the first female spies in the field. The story talks about the hardships, the way the networks operated, how they could be found out, plans a, b, c, all the way down. Losing friends and allies. A fantastic read! I would thoroughly encourage anyone to read this book!

A woman is sent to help the resistance during WW2. She is married and desparate to meet up with her husband whenever and wherever they can.

If you like spy, suspense, and a complicated plot, this story is for you!
But on a more serious note, resistance groups in WWII had short crash training and an incredible amount of tasks and guts to keep them from getting caught.
It is always the unknown. Has a safe house been raided by the enemy? Can you trust a contact you have never met before. Has someone betrayed your group? Has the enemy changed I D cards required to travel or taken over a new area?
I can’t imagine the stress, but these people loved their country and were willing to save it no matter the cost to themselves.

Chrystyna Lucyk-Berger does it again with An American Wife in Paris. This book emotes the feelings of being an undercover agent during the most tumultuous time in history and the people who risked their lives and their families to help save their countries. I love how Kitty's story keeps unfolding but she is not made out to be a perfect person, we feel her emotions, her exhaustion, and her fear. I was sad when I finished the book because I wanted more!

Historical fiction is my favorite genre to read and having the main character be a strong woman makes An American Wife in Paris by Chrystyna Lucyk-Berger feel like a gift.

Kitty is determined to help the cause, find her now ex-husband and do whatever it takes because she doesn't believe the news that he is dead.

With grit and determination, Kitty searches for Edgar while doing work with the Allied Forces undercover to try and find him.

The 2nd in the Diplomat's Wife series doesn't disappoint, and I am looking forward to reading Kitty's next adventures to help win the War in the next book.

After the first heartbreaking book in the series I was prepared for a difficult story. But I was surprised by an action packed plot that kept me reading thtough the night. I just couldn't put it down. Kitty is now working undercover in France trying to help the war effort and at the same time keeping in contact with her husband. But when the United States become directly involved in the war, Kitty's position will change dramatically.
I hope the third book comes quickly because I can't wait to read the conclusion of this story!

This author is slowly becoming one of my favorite historical fiction WW based authors to read, because so far I've read her other books : The Woman at the Gates , The Girl from the Mountains ,The American Wife (The Diplomat's Wife Book 1 , and this one - all 5 stars ), plus I have her book Souvenirs from Kyiv to read as well. What makes me love her stories so much is how beautifully written they are as well as heartbreaking and their also a powerful story about courage, love and bravery in the midst of World War 2.

An American Wife in Paris continues author Chrystyna Luxyk-Berger’s exciting story about the WWII resistance. If you’re unfamiliar with the series, please read An American Wife first. Kitty has had to divorce her soulmate, Edgar and assume another identity as she continued her battle against Nazism. Now she is going to undertake the most daring and dangerous mission of her life to continue helping the resistance and to find a way to reconnect with Edgar, assuming he’s still alive. This series is wonderfully written, emotional, heart wrenching, and totally addictive. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.

Thanks to Netgalley, Chrystyna and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
The first book in this series made a huge impression on me because it started during a period that is regarded as pre-WW2 in Britain and clearly demonstrated how events in Europe were already affecting the population. This book follows on from then when Nazi occupation had spread further, Britain was at war, and Pearl Harbour was bombed drawing the Americans into the conflict. It starts with a wonderful period where Edgar and Kitty are spending time together, their love unhindered by suspicions about where loyalties lie. This is quickly brought to an end and the pace of events becomes breathtakingly fast as Kitty becomes more active undercover. She is brought into contact with new and old characters (I completely recommend readers immerse themselves in book 1 first!) and suspicion continues to abound - who can be trusted, who cannot? The author keeps the suspense running high, and it is hard to put this book down (although I confess to taking a few short breaks because I didn't want to get to the end of reading it!), the twists and turns in fortune bring joy and sadness.
I absolutely cannot wait until the next book comes out in this epic saga!

Many thanks to NetGalley & Bookouture for the opportunity to read Chrystyna Lucyk-Berger's An American Wife in Paris. I am loving this series and can't wait for Book #3.

This second book is even better than the first and I loved that one. Do yourself a favor when you read it and set aside a time when you won't be interrupted because you won't want to put it down. I was annoyed that my family still expected to eat when all I wanted to do was read!

The period for this one is January 1941 through September 1943, a pivotal time in World War II. Kitty won't wait for the United States to get on board, not after her experiences in Austria. She wants to officially get into the intelligence game. We meet the historical figures of the SOE, Major Buckmaster & Vera Atkins, as they train Kitty to go back into the lion's den on a mission in France. Even Wild Bill Donovan of the OSS and Allen Dulles make an appearance.

Kitty really shows her fortitude in this book. She is frustrated that politicians in both England & America will not take action, even when they are given proof of Nazi war crimes. She shows that she is stronger than they think she is and capable of making swift decisions when plans fail. Throughout the story, there are intricate but subtle clues in messages for Kitty from Edgar that only make sense at the end. I am so impressed with the way that the author was able to weave these strands together and I can't wait for the next book!

I'm grateful to Chrystyna Lucyk-Berger for the invitation to read this latest book through NetGalley & Bookouture.
I am happy to post this review & I highly recommend An American Wife in Paris.
