Austin and Alana find a magic face painting set at their Aunt Kessie's art studio. The set magically transports them onto a pirate ship and a wonderful adventure ensues.

I loved the concept of a magic face painting set, really gets the imaginative juices flowing.

Such a vibrant book, both the words and the illustrations. Great representation in the book. The story was engaging throughout.

Great book for early readers as well as independent ones.

Alanna and Austin are at the their Aunt Kessie’s art studio and find a magic face painting set that transports them onto a pirate ship, set for a grand adventure. As the two see a small ship approaching with two thieving bad pirates, they take on the task of protecting the New Leaf pirates.

What a magical story, so vibrant and full of imagination. This is exactly the kind of story that children with wild imaginations love, it escorts them to a whole new and wonderful world with something as simple as a magic face painting set.

I really enjoyed seeing their pirate adventure unfolding and the trouble that came aboard, they knew instantly they were bad and ensured that they never got the map they wanted to steal. I loved how creative the twins were in everything they did to distract and ensure that the bad pirates didn’t find the map. I loved that the twins already loved and knew so much about pirates and used that knowledge whilst aboard and it added to their fun.

The illustrations throughout were very bright and colourful and nice to look at. I loved that the twins dog Ozzie somehow went with them on this whole adventure and was very funny. I really enjoyed this story and all the magic of it, I liked that this helps to open up so much world of imagination and take you to a place of dreams and wonders.

I think that children are going to really love this, it’s going to transport them to a pirate ship, it will help them be encouraged to imaginative play and open their minds to the small magic and wonders around them. It’s a really easy, sweet and incredibly fun story.
