A heartfelt contemporary romance that explores the enduring power of first love.

The story follows Jace Morgan, a musical prodigy from the Bronx, and Andrea Leighton-Hughes, a wealthy Upper East Sider, as they navigate their intense and complicated relationship.

I really enjoyed the way the characters, Jace and Andrea come from such different backgrounds but find common ground in their love for each other and their music.

The emotional depth and vulnerability they show as they navigate their relationship are both heart-wrenching and beautiful. That kind of raw, authentic connection is something that really stands out.

🎧The audiobook is beautifully narrated by James Fouhey and Rachel F. Hirsch. Hirsch bring a unique blend of depth and authenticity to their performances. Fouhey’s voice captures Jace's raw emotion and musical passion, while Hirsch’s portrayal of Andrea is layered with vulnerability and strength. Their chemistry enhances the story, making the characters feel real and their journey compelling. Narrators like them can really elevate a good story into an unforgettable experience.

A chance meeting in Central Park brings these two characters together from different ends of the wealth divide. This is a bittersweet read that is heartwarming aswell as heart breaking. I love that the book is told from two points of view, it was nice to see life through two different perspectives. This shows that opposites really do attract it’s just all about energy and connections. This book was sweet and engaging. I listened to this on audiobook and it really did bring the characters to life

I never listened to it because my NetGalley app wasn't working properly. So I had to uninstall it and then all but two of my audio books were gone.

An epic love story that explores the deep emotional connection between Andrea and Jace. From the first time they meet in Central Park they knew they were meant to be together. Andrea, a wealthy Upper East Sider, has always lived a life of lies and manipulation, but Jace is the first person to see her true self. Jace, a musical prodigy from the Bronx, has experienced the darker side of life but finds solace in Andrea's presence. Their love is unique and incomprehensible to others. As they navigate the challenges of staying together and proving that love can conquer all, life throws obstacles their way. It delves into the question of what happens when two people promise forever but are torn apart by circumstances. It explores the time they spend apart and the space between them. The Space Between is an emotional journey that will leave you deeply moved.

Many thanks to Netgalley, W.W. Crown and the author for the ALC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Whew, this was one hell of a journey. I think I am owed a bit of therapy money for this one. This book follows Andrea and Jace, 2 people who have diametrically opposite lives, whether it is family, money and everything in between. What starts as Andrea helping Jace fight a bully leading to a beautiful deep friendship and a brilliant beautiful love story. But before we get to the happy ending there are quite a few hurdles to jump, a good few obstacles to overcome and life lessons to be had. They go through life while walking in and out each others. Sometimes its people, sometimes its circumstance, sometimes it themselves that are keeping them apart. they are ripped apart from each other again and again.

Its a roller coaster of emotions, there is love, yearning, heartbreak, grief, loss, betrayal, and everything in between. It made me want to scream at them, with them, cry for them and with them. This is what you can call an epic story. It would in my opinion make an excellent movie. You won't even realize when you are being ripped apart and then put back together while getting a warm hug. Another beautiful part of this book is that this story takes you through quite a bit of a time line, you grow with the characters. There is so much drama and trauma and yet so much joy. The narrators of the audiobook were so so good, especially with the extended cast and there was quite a lot of them.

PS: Reid, ohmg I did not want to love you, but you made me, and I am still not ready to forgive a few people in this book yet. I get why you did what you did, but it doesn't make it okay.

Also Sarah Ready has outdone herself in this one.

💭 i stumbled upon this book on NetGalley, and wow - i was not prepared for the journey this book would take me on. i think it made me feel every single type of emotion. 🥹 i was actively sobbing by the 60% mark. 💔 told in dual timelines, you really get a chance to fall in love with these characters. this book is everything i could hope for in a romance — fierce, selfless MCs who overcome tragedy + adversity, found family, and a redemption story. two of my favorite lessons from the book were money can’t buy love + it’s possible to love people in more than one way. 🫶🏻 i LOVE finding new authors; i will most definitely be diving into her other books very soon. 🥰

Fave quote: “They say love fades; it doesn’t. Pain does, but love doesn’t.”

“There are a million ways to hurt someone without leaving a mark.” 💔

“I chose to spend six months living instead of a year dying.”

“There’s a wide chasm between loving someone and knowing you love someone.”

The Space Between by Sarah Ready is a dazzling tale that captivated me from the very first page and kept me enthralled until the end. As my first experience with Ready's writing, I am thoroughly impressed and eager to explore more of her work.

The story weaves together elements of romance, mystery, and personal growth in a way that feels both fresh and deeply resonant. The protagonist's journey is beautifully crafted, with Ready's skillful storytelling bringing each character and setting to vivid life. The emotional depth of the narrative is particularly striking, with poignant moments that tug at the heartstrings and others that uplift and inspire.

What stands out most about The Space Between is its ability to balance a compelling plot with rich, well-developed characters. The relationships in the book feel authentic and relatable, with a chemistry that leaps off the page. Ready's prose is both lyrical and accessible, making the story a joy to read while also providing moments of profound insight.

The pacing is spot-on, with each chapter leaving me eager to find out what happens next. There are twists and turns that kept me guessing, yet the resolution feels satisfying and well-earned. Ready's ability to blend suspense with heartwarming moments creates a dynamic reading experience that is both thrilling and emotionally fulfilling.

Overall, The Space Between is a triumph. Sarah Ready has crafted a novel that is not only entertaining but also deeply moving. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a story that will stay with them long after the final page is turned. It's a solid 5/5 stars from me, and I look forward to diving into more of Ready's literary works in the future.

I'm not a fan of YA romance much these days, but I actually enjoyed this one because it was on the clean side. I thought them losing their virginity to each other was well done.

After they graduate from high school, Andy joins Jace and his brothers as they go on tour. I mostly liked Jace's relationship with this brothers. They are really close due to losing both their parents in a tragic way. But one brother made a selfish choice that changed the course for these love birds.

The story jumps 8 years and Jace & Andy finally see each other again. They've never stopped thinking about each other for all these years. Could this be fate and their second chance? Or did the author give us a heart wrenching twist that'll make you shed a tear or two?

In case you needed one more twist ~ wowza with the culprit of Jace's parents death, I didn't see that coming at all.

Then we have a 5 year jump that ends in the second chance we have been waiting ages and ages and ages for.

Overall, a lovely coming of age story, on the longer side, that'll yank your heartstrings, make you sad and put a smile on your face when it all comes full circle.

Narration notes:
They both did a great job. Their voices sounded perfect for their age.

I really enjoyed The Space Between. In a nutshell, Andrea Leighton-Hughes is the daughter of an extremely wealthy family, who have plans for her future. She meets and falls in love with Jace Morgan, a young man from the rough side of town. He plays guitar in his family band. When Andrea's parents give her an ultimatum, she leaves everything behind and goes on the road with Jace. His brothers are not happy with her being around, she is his muse and what will happen when she leaves. When an incident occurs that causes her to distrust Jace, she packs up and goes home. Before they meet again, there is The Space Between.

I really liked Andrea and felt terrible for her. Not only her own family, but Jace's were wrong in their treatment of her. All she wanted was to love Jace, but everyone else had other ideas. Jace was a wonderful character that also got the wrong end of the stick. Why couldn't everyone just leave them to be in love. I am not going to say what happened while they are apart, because that is a wonderful part of the story. I just want to say that what Andrea does because she is such a caring person, blew me away. This was a love story that had my emotions all over the place, but ended with a smile on my face. The audiobook was narrated by James Fouhey and Rachel F. Hirsch. They give voice to Andrea and Jace as their POVs come in alternating chapters. I definitely recommend this one to those of you that enjoy a good love story.

I am such a fan of Sarah Ready and enjoy many of her romcoms but this is a turn that I did not see coming and I am here for it.

First of all, why isn't this book being talked about more? It is really so good and I feel like everyone should read it. I'm not going to lie, the page count threw me off for a long time, but then I decided to dive it and could not believe I held off on this book as long as I did.

I loved the love story between the two main characters, Jace and Andrea and the emotional roller coaster their life took me on. I was sucked in from the beginning and really had strong feels on how their journey played out.

As an audiobook though, it was really hard getting into Jace's characters because the male narrator's voice was not for me and I could not connect as much as I wanted to. I had to push through and ignore my inner voice getting annoyed at his narration.

Other than that I am raving about this novel thanks to NetGalley and W. W. Crown.

I actually really enjoyed this book. It is very long (100+ chapters) and dragged at times, but sped up REALLY QUICKLY as we got past 50%. What a crazy story! Several well executed twists. I love how everything was set up and came together. I was not a fan of several characters, including the main one, but still liked the story and the writing. Saphy definitely lacked personality, I felt like I did not know anything about her by the end of the book, but I guess it's understandable in her circumstances. I was hooked by the middle and binge listened to the second half!

Thank you NetGalley for providing this audiobook in exchange for my honest review!

The plot and all that was great. I just thought the narrator was a little boring. I did read the physical book which I really loved. I cried my eyes, so if you are needing a good cry, you should definitely read this. The tragedies in this book are so relatable to life.

Another enjoyable audiobook, The Space Between by Sarah Ready is a great read to escape the daily grind.

I didn’t enjoy the FMC, I didn’t like that she was lying about where she came from, I get she didn’t love coming from a cruel family but still.

I just couldn’t get on with the book, I don’t know if it was just not the right sort of book for me or just a bad time or the fact it was audiobook (some books are just better on paper!) I’d perhaps give it another go physically but something just didn’t hit right with this.

I want to thank the author and publisher for access to this one. This book just wasn't hitting for me. I ended up reading part of the book with my eyeballs and part of the book with my ears, and I just couldn't connect with the characters. It was a little slow from the start for me, unfortunately. While I was interested in the premise and I love a time jump, I just didn't find myself wanting to figure out how the characters connected from past to present day. In addition, I didn't enjoy the narrators as much as I typically like to, and the length of this one was just too hard to push through.

I will not be reviewing this anywhere except in this space.

Thank you, endlessly, for access to this book. I'm excited to try a book by Sarah again in the future!

i don't think Sarah Ready is the author for me! my second read for her and I just found myself not caring about what was happening and also found the narrators a bit annoying.

The Space Between by Sarah Ready was my favorite type of romance, 2nd chance lovers. It started a little slow for me but was a sweet story about the resilence of love.
