Thank you NetGalley for this audio arc!
This book will take you on a whirlwind! Andie meets Jace as teens and they fall hard. Andie is from a different world and hasn’t ever had love. She goes on tour with Jace since he and his brothers have a band. A misunderstanding and siblings interfering break them apart. 8 years later, Andie is marrying Jace’s high school bully. The reasons she’s getting married aren’t involving love. He learns the truth about their breakup and still loves her. Another section for part 3 is 5 more years later when the couple are finally able to have their HEA.
This started like a YA but then I was pulled in and felt all the feelings and emotions and couldn’t stop Listening. I will definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a love story / romance. I really loved the ending and kinda didn’t want the book to be over😍 so sweet
From the moment of their fate-filled first meeting in Central Park they’ve known one true thing—they’re meant to be.
Life doesn’t have many certainties but for Andrea and Jace forever is one of them.
As Jace and Andrea struggle to stay together and prove that love defeats all obstacles, life sets out to prove them wrong.
What happens when two people promise forever, but life tears them apart?
What happens in the time they aren’t together—in the space between?
This might be one of my favorite romances of this year! This story was sweet, the characters had such a strong connection, and the audio narration was perfect! Andrea and Jace come from two completely different worlds. When they first meet in the park, they just fit.
Readers follow Andrea and Jace as they fall in love and fall apart. The story takes some big turns as the characters pick themselves back up but still aren’t completely whole. You never know where life will lead you!
Must read/listen to!
In true Sarah Ready fashion, this one grabs you from the start and takes you on all the emotional ups & downs of a roller coaster! Just when you think you know what will happen next, you don’t and you’re glued to find out what will happen next. I’ve read several of her books, and this new one doesn’t disappoint!! It’s so good that you wish you could read it for the first time all over again. The audiobook was fabulous and the narrators did a great job of bringing this story to life. Thanks so much to Sarah Ready, the publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this arc audiobook!
A roller-coaster of emotions, deeps feelings, first love, second chances, friendship, family and the love of a lifetime. Andy and Jace are mean to be together since they met at seventeen, but life is not always easy and straightforward, and the way to happiness and love can be hard but the struggles are worth it when finally true love wins. The audiobook is amazing.
Do you love a book that wrecks you completely? Yes? This book is for you!
Jace and Andrea 🩵 After reading French Holiday by Sarah Ready this spring I had to read The Space Between as soon as I saw it on NetGalley. I loved this book so much! There were so many unexpected turns in Jace and Andrea’s journey to each other- I feel like if I say more I’ll give too much away, so I’ll just say this book was an emotional roller coaster in the best way possible and I loved it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
Highly recommend
Sarah ready does it again! Be prepared for this emotional rollercoaster ride and grab the tissues. From the moment Andrea met Jace she knew it was going to be forever. The narrators really helped create such a vivid photo for me.
I love Jace and Andi's story. It is a love story through time with heartache, heartbreak and reunited love. I enjoyed the different perspectives from Jace and Andi as well as the amazing character development and background.. Sarah Ready is an excellent author and captivated me right from the beginning. I recommend to anyone who likes romcom.
I listened to an ALC of this book.
The Space Between was such an emotional book. The first few chapters were when the main characters met and were in their teens. I was lost to the book after chapter either. Jace and Andrea are separated by their social standings, but only one of them knows for the first part of the book. Their friendship quickly turns into more and we watch them grow together.
I liked how the author separated the book into three parts. It made a clear cut when they had moved to a different part in their lives. There were parts in the ending that seemed unrealistic, but maybe it is realistic for really rich people? Overall, this book was what an emotionally-needy person wants.
I will recommend this book to anyone who asks for a book recommendation, regardless of their favorite genre.
Thank you for allowing me an ALC of this book, in exchange for an honest review. I cannot wait to purchase a physical copy.
This is a wonderful instalove story that takes you over a couple decades that proves that no matter what love wins. This story has many ups and downs, with twists that twists your heart. Sarah Ready takes you through the paces but brings you a beautiful story of love, hope, and happily ever after. This reminds you that although love is not always linear, love does win.
This book was very predictable, but it definitely pulled at your heart strings in a unique way. The story was told beautifully and while it did end how I expected, I was surprised at various points. Jace and Andi are the epitome of opposites attracting and their love tells their story as they navigate the messy world of blood versus decided family, following your dreams, and redemption.
This may sound cliche but this was an absolute roller coaster of emotions. I’m not sure my heart will ever recover from this. I couldn’t stop crying. The heartbreak, deception, and love mixed together just ripped my entire heart. It’s the good kind of heartbreak, the kind that comes from true love.
“I’ll stand on a stage in front of thousands and when I look out on the crowd, she won’t be there and it won’t matter. And if I have to picture her ghost there, my memory of her to force myself to sing, well, no one has to know that but me.”
“He gave me a thousand dreams and shattered every one.”
This is one of the best second chance romance I’ve ever read, possibly the best ever. It’s not a traditional romance; it’s not flooded with swoony moments, it’s more about true love ending up together at the end. The initial introduction and set up of this relationship was perfectly paced. I loved getting to know these two as young lovers. I was cheering for them right from the beginning.
At times, this does give off YA vibes but I don’t consider it YA. I actually don’t read YA, I avoid it at all costs; so trust me, this isn’t YA. But this is pretty clean. Not spicy.
This was well written. There was no waste or filler content. Every character was essential to the story. There is a small point in the book that appears to be a love triangle but I would argue that that doesn’t happen. It’s a different love she feels for him.
I do have one complaint. I wish there was more of them getting to know each other again at the end. It’s been years since they were together and it just felt like they jumped back in together as if no time had passed. That was sort of weird.
Props to the narrator! The reading was amazing. I genuinely believe it contributed to the emotion of this story. There are great moments of emotional range. I can always feel the sadness in a scene.
The Space Between was way more than I expected, a truly emotional, heartwarming, heartbreaking, real story of loss, life, and mostly love for two people from very different backgrounds whose love was misunderstood by all of those around them. It was a story of trust, devotion, and right timing. I assumed it was going to be a Gossip Girl type story (and I was here for it!) and while it did have aspects in the beginning, it was truly so much more. I probably had tears streaming down my face for 50% of this story—- in a “good way” as this author had us feeling with the characters and aching for them all.
I love when an author introduces you to an antagonist and then develops them further so that you see they are deeply human and you’re rooting for them and crying with/for them. Sarah Ready did this well and also had it summed up so that I felt happy for the endings for each character. Even the tertiary characters who played parts in this story were neatly packaged for the ending and I felt redemption and satisfaction based on the innate traits we were told for each of them (ie the parents, siblings, and band mates of the MCs.)
Now for our main characters—-Jace and Andy/Andrea had a love at first sight type bond that went deeper than teenage love, it spanned a lifetime and even through the life’s twists and turns could be trusted. Their chance (fated) meetings over the course of the 13 years in this story were tender/sweet and heartbreaking wrapped together. I wish for the characters they didn’t have to have so much heartbreak to get where they ended but the acceptance and the life lived in the #SpaceBetween felt like real life.
I am impressed and so thankful for NetGalley for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review. I’m in awe of this story and think I may need to find more of Sarah Ready’s stories to devour.
I will end with saying this story conveys how we all can have different loves for different reasons and each are beautiful and meaningful and that is life. ❤️ 5 🌟 s!
I thought the narrators did a decent job but this story just didn’t draw me in at all. I got to about 30% and found myself dreading turning it back on.
I loved this book!! It tore my heart in half then put it back together again!! It was little bit slow to start but once it got going, I was crazy hooked! This book was well written with amazing conflict and deep emotion. Andi and Jace are one of my favorite Sarah Ready couples. This author is a hidden gem. Every romance reader should know about her books. I read this book AND listened to it in audio. The audiobook female narrator was amazing. I struggled a little bit with the male narrator. When he read the book he lacked emotion but it wasn’t anything that kept me from listening. Huge thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read/listen and review this wonderful book.
I began reading and thought oh it’s instalove but it’s justified & very uplifting. But then lies and betrayal get involved and my emotions plunged down. I did not anticipate the emotional roller coaster I would experience. The best kind of book you cannot correctly predict what happens next. The writing is phenomenal, I was throughly engaged and clutching at my heart with all the twists and turns. Two beautifully written characters, Jace and Andi. I just wanted the best for them.
The narrators were perfect, the soothing voices really sold the story. I loved listening along with the text.
Sarah Ready delighted me with her Josh and Gemma series, swept me off my feet with French Holiday and absolutely stole my heart with The Space Between. I absolutely fell in love with Jace and Andi. It isn’t a story of all roses, in fact, it’s packed with heartache as each has to deal with the emotional turmoil that life’s circumstances has dealt them (themes around the death of a parent, drug overdose, bullying, mental illness, parental abuse, cancer/death, socioeconomic struggles), but through it all we keep coming back to Jace and Andi and the love they share, and somehow despite challenges thrown their way, you can’t help but want to cheer them on each time they find each other again.
James Fouhey and Rachel F. Hirsch do a fantastic job with the narration, truly bringing the story alive. The chemistry between Jace and Andi was palpable and emotional heartache they endured palpable.
This is the forth book I’ve read by this author, both in the past month, and I really have enjoyed her writing style. I look forward to reading more.
A hearty thank you to NetGalley and W.W. Crown / Independent Book Publishers for the opportunity to preview an advance listening copy of this fantastic story that is due to publish 25-July-2023. This is my honest review and the opinions expressed are my own.
Thank you #NetGalley & W.W. Crown for an ARC copy and the chance to give my honest review. I first fell in love with Sarah when I stumbled upon Josh & Gemma--it was a such a cute fun rom com that I added the author to my TBR list. I was then so excited to get both the ebook and audio of The Space Between. Ended up reading it via ebook only as it worked better with my work schedule. This book, while not what I initially expected was just what I needed. Sarah gave me all the feels. Jace and Andi compliment eachother so well. And just when you think you have it all figured out and you want to perhaps hate a character or two--nope..maybe not...wait a minute...what just happened... Then when the reason for the title becomes apparent I was all in. The author also gave me two twists I didn't see coming which is always a plus for me. This is a wonderful story that explores Love and the many different facets it can encompass and face through the years.
I was NOT expecting this book to be so good! This was so different from French Holiday, which was my first book by Sarah Ready, and I truly loved them both so much and so differently. The Space Between was absolutely heartbreaking in the very best way. Andrea and Jace were such lovable characters, despite their flaws. The family scenes and band scenes with Jace's family were just so heartwarming and I loved watching their relationships evolve and change. Andrea's family was an entirely different dynamic and I feel like both were so well written! This was written well, I was hooked by the storyline and the characters had great depth. I laughed, I cried, I couldn't put it down!
There were a couple steamier scenes, but the could easily be skipped if you prefer a closed door romance.
I switched between the audiobook and the ebook and truly loved both. The narrators were perfectly cast and they did a great job of displaying the emotions from the book.
5 stars-- Love!
Thanks to Netgalley, Sarah Ready and the publisher for the chance to read and review this early. all opinions are mine
This is the romance novel I didn't know I needed!
When I saw that NetGalley was releasing automatic downloads of the audiobook without needing to first submit a request to the publishers, I didn't have high expectations. (Thank you so much NetGalley for the ARC.)
Oh my goodness, this book had me hooked from the first chapter to the very satisfying end. I loved the longevity of the story over the near-two decades of the characters' lives. And how the reader really got to know the characters, saw their development, and couldn't help but root for the hero/heroine.
I also thought the two audiobook narrators did a perfect job bringing Andy and Jace to life.
