I really enjoyed this book! Andrea and Jace are such a great couple and their story is well worth the listen. I liked the way the story went back and forth between Andrea and Jace’s point of view and both narrators were fabulous. The brother’s treachery made me so angry. At least Andrea knew her famiiy didn’t have her best interests at heart but Jace would have trusted his brothers implicitly. They let him down so hard but it becomes true that the break downs they had in their relationship allowed some good things to happen. The end of this book was so beautiful & left me with a happy feeling.

Thanks to NetGalley and Sarah Ready for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for my review.

This audiobook was enjoyable and such a good story. I was heartbroken, sad, in love, surprised, heartbroken some more, relieved, … all the feelings.

I didn’t love Jace’s voice at times, but overall it was easy to listen to. Recommend!

The Space Between" by Sarah Ready, narrated by James Fouhey and Rachel F. Hirsch, takes listeners on an emotional rollercoaster through the ebb and flow of the lives of two soulmates who were tragically paired at the wrong time. Their destiny is thwarted by outside interference unbeknownst to them, and their chance meeting reveals they are seemingly complete opposites. However, as time passes, they discover that they are not so different after all. Ready weaves a mesmerizing tale within a tale, reminding us that life isn't always a bed of roses, but it's essential to dream and maintain hope. The audiobook beautifully captures the essence of the story, emphasizing the importance of staying true to oneself and embracing the ups and downs of life.

Initially, I struggled with the narration as Fouhey and Hirsch portray teenage characters. However, as the story progresses, the strength of their voices resonates powerfully, matching the emotional depth of the words. Ready's writing creates relatable characters who grapple with loneliness, both with and without money. It explores the profound ability to love, even in the absence of material wealth. The narrative presents moments where everything one could ever desire seems within reach, only to have true love slip away, not once but twice. Yet, as the saying goes, the third time proves to be the charm.

"The Space Between" delves into the aftermath of a life lost and the challenges faced by those left behind. It poses the question of how one can move on and continue to thrive amidst grief. The audiobook also touches upon the power of selfless love, as the characters strive to fulfill a dying childhood friend's final wish. These themes resonate deeply and are masterfully conveyed through the engaging performances of Fouhey and Hirsch.

While some listeners may perceive certain parts as melodramatic and find the narration occasionally lacking depth, upon closer analysis, I discovered that these aspects were intentionally crafted in "The Space Between." As the narrative skillfully weaves a story within a story, it purposely introduces an element of confusion regarding which character to root for. Furthermore, it cleverly entices readers to ponder whether they are being led towards a traditional "happily ever after" ending as the story unfolds.

In this exceptional five-star audiobook, "The Space Between," Sarah Ready's compelling storytelling, accompanied by the evocative narration by James Fouhey and Rachel F. Hirsch, comes together to create an immersive and unforgettable experience. The narrative delves deep into themes of love, fate, and the indomitable spirit of humanity, leaving listeners captivated by its emotional depth. Brace yourself for an emotional journey, as "The Space Between" is a genuine tearjerker. It serves as a powerful testament to the enduring power of hope, the transformative nature of self-discovery, and the eternal strength of true love. Make sure to keep your tissues handy while immersing yourself in this beautifully crafted tale of life's uncertainties and the profound impact of love.

Squeeze my heart! The Space Between by Sarah Ready was a heartfelt and emotional romance that tugged at my heartstrings from start to finish. I wasn’t sure if I could handle the angst and heartache between Jace and Andrea on their way to HEA, but the payout, in the end, was worth it.

James Fouhey and Rachel F. Hirsch narrate this audiobook, and both gave moving performances. James' portrayal of Jace was genuine, raw, and real which made me emphasize and experience every emotion Jace was feeling. Rachel delivered a powerful performance of Andrea’s vulnerabilities, dedication, and ability to make so much room for all the love in her life. Both narrators were spot on bringing the tension and a few tears with the enduring love between Jace and Andi.

Overall, I LOVED this book. If you are a fan of a love story that spans the rest of time with a hunky aspiring musician, a loyal wealthy heroine from the Upper East Side, young love, going on tour, life-changing misunderstandings, second chances, making up with lost time, learning to love again, and a HEA that made the space between worth the wait, then you will love Andrea and Jace’s story. I always look forward to more from Sarah Ready.

The space between is not what I thought it would be, and exactly what I thought it would be!

The story of Jace and Andy starts when they're 17 and the book carries on into their adulthood. So its not a YA book, but it definitely starts off with some strong YA vibes. There are a couple spicy scenes that are easy enough to skip for those that prefer no spice. Multiple POVs is usually not my thing, but this was done very well! The narrators were really good, although I think I would have liked a younger sounding male voice for Jace as a teenager.

Jace is in a band with his brothers, and Andy comes from a rich family and has felt unloved most of her young life, and longs for something real and not just feel like a piece in a chess game. When Jace and Andy meet there's an instant connection. Now it may seem cliché, but you know what, sometimes we need a little instant love in our lives, for the simple fact that it doesn't typically happen in real life. But what I thought was going to be young, whiny and cliché, was actually deep, intimate, and full of twists and turns. I kept telling myself if this was a movie I'd be all over it. The drama is there, and its for real. I don't know if I would've liked it better reading a physical copy, but regardless, I really enjoyed it! It was the perfect amount of young love, real life circumstances, consequences and drama. Topped off with a really beautiful ending that I was very happy with. There are some parts that could've been shortened, the book felt a tad long for me in like the 30/40percent mark i was questioning if I wanted to continue. But I'm glad I did!

I enjoyed this book through audiobook format although I did look through the ebook for a quote I wanted.

The dedication to this book is “For the music and for love” and I really love that. There was so much music and love in this book and I got to appreciate the power of both.

I have never heard of or read any books by Sarah Ready but after this one I am going to check out some of her other works.

The Space Between is a contemporary romance that follows the lives of Jace and Andi in three parts - when they’re 17, 8 years later and 5 years after that. It also includes a whole cast of characters, particularly family members who have their good and bad qualities.

This was a long audiobook for me clocking in at over 13 hours but I couldn’t stop listening. I needed to know what was going to happen next and listened in every spare moment I had. There were two narrators covering Jace and Andi’s alternating POVs throughout the book. I enjoyed the voices and delivery of both narrators.

I FELT ALL THE FEELINGS listening to this book. I was shocked, I was mad, surprised, sad and happy. This delivered a whole range of emotions and delivered them well for me. This isn’t the type of romance I typically enjoy as it was not at all light hearted. But, I was invested and loved the whole journey, evolution and story of both the MCs as well as some key side characters. I got all the Romeo and Juliet, forbidden romance vibes from Jace and Andi who could not come from more differing backgrounds. They just worked together.

I recommend if you want a romance that will punch you in the gut.

“If we don’t fall, if we aren’t human, then there’s no need for grace. You have to forgive.”

Jace is orphaned, poor and has a passion for music. Andy is the feisty daughter of an NYC scion, They meet in Central Park when Andy saves Jace from being beaten by a classmate. They fall hard for each other. Sarah Ready follows the ups and downs of their relationship over the next twenty years in The Space Between. The book is told from two points of view and the audio version featured both a male and female. This worked exceptionally well. Ready’s writing is tight. Her characters are memorable and likable. She includes several twists which are surprising but believable. I was totally absorbed by the story. I highly recommend it. I thank NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to listen to this ALC.

This one was the epitome of a second chance romance (more like 3rd) with our two MC’s being childhood sweethearts that met at 17 and fell in love. The book starts with Jace witnessing Andie getting married to another man and walking away until we go back to when they were 17 and first met and follow them until they are 18 and fall in love and then lose each other over a miscommunication put together by Jace’s brother who wanted Andie out of the picture.

Andie then goes back to her life of wealth and lives as Andrea and does as expected by her family and then ends up being asked to marry someone from her childhood… this takes us then back to the prologue and then we have to jump into the future again for their third chance several years later where Andie and Jace are finally able to get their timing right.

If you love these things mentioned about I highly recommend checking this one out!

Thanks so much to the publisher for my ARC of this audiobook!

If you lived in the top of a tower hotel on the upper East side of New York with all the money you could possibly imagine, would you feel like you had it all? Not according to Andrea, oops I mean Andy! Jace and Andy met in Central Park when she continued to escape the hierarchy and restraints of an overpowering father and family.
Andy found love, something she didn’t quite know how to give or receive because she never experienced it growing up. She wanted more than anything to be “normal” and “average”, she let her heart take the lead. Falling for Jace, the lead singer in his family band took her to places she could smile and be herself and love!

The words that come to mind after reading “ The Space Between” are assumption, undeniable love, fate, growth and Forgiveness. Although this book had some predictable parts, there were a few surprises along the way. I found myself cheering for both Jace and Reed at the same time. Reed, used to be a bully, had picked on Jace as a younger boy and also actually grew up with Andrea in the wealthiest of the elite! People change , walls are broken down, truths are found and amazing things can come from that. Andrea’s love story comes full circle in the Space Between. Written so well with such detail.

This was only my second audio book ever, and I breezed through it in a couple days, I had to know what happened next! Families with siblings, loss, new life and chance are all things The Space Between brings.
Thank you @Netgalley for this Listen Now read!

I absolutely adored this story! Listening to it on audio is definitely something I would recommend since there were 2 very likeable narrators. At first seeing it was 10+ hours on audio felt overwhelming, but the length of this book was appropriate considering the many layers to this story that takes places over many years. As lomg as the audiobook was, I didn't want it to end! There were so many layers to this story, which I enjoyed so much! This wasn't just another love story. This was a story with multiple tropes and layers. You have everything from mother-daughter relationships, first loves, enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, second chance romance, status issues, the list goes on. The combination of musicianship and grief from one of our main characters, Jace. I thoroughly enjoyed the many themes throughout this book. It touches on grief, betrayal, lies, love, hope, and so much more. I will be recommending it to everyone this summer! I wish I could say more, but I don't think that's possible without spoilers! I now have another favorite author to add to my list. Thank you for that!

I gotta admit that I struggled with this book so much. I didn’t love the narration and the whole lack of chemistry kept making me want to DNF the book.

I hated the relationship between Andi & Jace because I felt like it was too abrupt & too quick. Too instalove that had no depth & ability to grow before they started having conflict.

Thank you for NetGalley and W.W.Crown for this ALC in exchange for my honest review.

I’ve enjoyed other books by this author but this was not a win for me.

This is my first Sarah Ready book and I enjoyed it so much, the experience listening to both voices of Jace and Andrea was incredible.

This book broke my heart, TWICE. There were really deep and emotional moments, but sometimes it was also cute.

Give me a moment, I'm out of words right now. I still can't believe I finished it, I was so comfortable listening to this story even thought it hurt, so now that there's silence there it is in my mind, too.

This book wrecked me!!! My new favorite from Sarah Ready, she broke my heart and then put it back together in this heartbreakingly beautiful story about first love, second chances and finding your way back when life throws you the worst curveballs.

Parts of this story had me gasping for breath while others had my heart melting. I can't recommend it enough and really enjoyed it on audio too. Aspiring rock star Jace and lonely heiress Andrea were from completely different worlds but their roller coaster love story will have you reaching for kleenex and wanting more!

Many thanks to NetGalley and the author for an early digital and audio copy in exchange for my honest review!

Life doesn’t have many certainties, but for Andrea and Jace, forever is one of them.

Andrea Leighton-Hughes—shockingly wealthy Upper East Sider, a chess-piece in her family’s games since before she was born—knows what it’s like to hide behind a mask.

Her world is one of lies, manipulation, and reputation. Jace is the first and only person to see who she truly is.

Jace Morgan knows the ugly side of life and he hasn’t always kept his nose clean. A musical prodigy from the Bronx, Jace and his brothers will do whatever it takes to climb to the top of the music charts. Andrea is the first and only person who has helped him play from the heart.

No one understands their connection. No one understands their love.

As Jace and Andrea struggle to stay together and prove that love defeats all obstacles, life sets out to prove them wrong.

What happens when two people promise forever, but life tears them apart?

Sometimes always doesn't mean forever, and forever doesn't mean always.

What happens in the time they aren’t together—in the space between?

Wow! This book was something else. I have listened to another of Sarah Ready's books: French Holiday, which I absolutely loved too, but the two books are very different. This author is now firmly one of my favourite romance authors. The main difference between the two books is that with this one, she rips your heart out - and when you get it back, it is forever altered! This book will stay with me for a long time, I could not stop listening to it - I NEEDED to find out what was going to happen.

The story is told from both Andy's and Jase's point of view and I really liked both narrators. Rachel F. Hirsch and James Fouhey. I am a bit biased when it comes to James Fouhey, I fell in love with him a little bit when I listened to him narrate Deadbreak by Jorge Sanchez, and actually listened to it again as soon as I was finished with this one. Highly recommend giving it a listen! Anyway, this is a very different take on a true love story, and I don't think I've ever read a romance story quite like it. There are so many layers to this story and there is more than one love story contained within, but very different types of love. The story takes place over the span of around twenty years and covers the complexities of love, loss and heartbreak.

If you feel like going on an emotional rollercoaster, then this is the book for you. Just remember to keep all parts of your body inside the ride at all times, you will end up with a broken heart, so you don't want to risk breaking anything else. Also, keep a box of tissues nearby!

My thanks to the author and W. W. Crown for my advance copy to listen to and review via Netgalley.

5 Stars!!! This one left me crying. What a beautiful love story. I was expecting a lighthearted fun read but was so invested in this incredibly emotional story. Andi and Jace first meet as teenagers. They come from different backgrounds. Jace is a talented musician from the Bronx while Andi withholds from Jace that she is wealthy. Their connection is instant and they both know it’s real. The book is divided in 3 parts reflecting different times in their lives. LOVED the narrators!!! Really brought the story to life.

Highly recommend this one!!

Thank you so much NetGalley and publishers for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

The Space Between by Sarah Ready is a romance novel about Andrea and Jace. Jace is a poor, orphaned young man from a musical family with lots of love. Andrea is the daughter of a mega-wealthy businessman and an heiress and was raised without love. The two met in Central Park and felt an instant connection that grew quickly to love. Due to circumstances they did not control, Andrea and Jace’s lives intersected and diverged two times before they experienced the happily ever after they are supposed to have, and they were the space between.

This contemporary romance novel is full of a passionate love that spans decades. I listened to this book as an audiobook and the narrators were perfect. This novel has so many emotional ups and downs and long passages that made me cry. I loved both the main characters, but Jace especially. His steadfast determination to hold onto love no matter what happened is inspirational as is Andrea’s willingness to sacrifice her own happiness in order to do what was right. This is my second book by this author and I believe I have become a life long fan. Her novels are poignant contemporary stories that draw the reader in. I definitely recommend this audiobook to lovers of contemporary romance similar to work by Josie Silver. I am voluntarily submitting this honest review after listening to an advanced complementary copy of this audiobook thanks to Netgalley, W. W. Crown, and the Independent Book Publishers Association.

Quick Summary: A heart wrenching, ugly cry, women's fiction novel

My Review: The Space Between by Sarah Ready is the type of book that stirs up a whirlwind of emotions inside the reader. There is so much to it. It's actually hard to put into words just how moving this novel is. At the core of the story, there is a common thread that is linked to love, family, friendship, and forgiveness. Along with that, however, readers are exposed to ugly actions, cruel attitudes, hurtful incidences, and more. In the end, everything becomes clear and the light that is needed shines on those who need it the most.

My Thoughts: As I was listening to the audiobook I kept thinking how this story reminded me of the love stories I've come to cherish over my lifetime. It had an emotional pull that grabbed my attention and would not release it. I was totally drawn into the stories within the story. I found that there was value and a lesson attached to each person.

My Final Say: This book evoked very strong feelings within me. It was so hard hitting, in fact, that I cried. I smiled. I laughed. I tensed up. I loved. I grieved. I celebrated. I applauded.

I appreciated the struggles. I appreciated the characters. I appreciated the strength that was shown. I appreciated the courage that it took to face that which was unavoidable. It won me over.

A beautiful second-chance romance where you see Andrea and Jace grow up, fall in and out of love and traverse two very different lives. I loved how this was written and the two parts of their lives: teenagers/young adults vs adults and seeing the differences in themselves and how they grow. The main romance and idea of true soulmates was also so sad seeing it take so much time to be with your true love. Overall a heart-warming love story full of amazing characters and a really interesting premise.

It's been a long time since a book "broke" me but this one did. It's really heavy but also REALLY well done. It's a great reminder about different types of love and it's the ultimate love story. In addition to the beautiful love in this book, I also really enjoyed the New York setting. The narrators were perfect for Andi and Jace.
