*Audiobook*

Jace and Andy are two teenagers from completely different worlds. Jace is a musician from the Bronx playing in his family band. He is raised by his brothers because his parents died when he was young. Andy is the daughter of a wealthy businessman who cares more about perception and power than family. Jace and Andy know they are meant for each other, but life continually pushes them apart and brings them back together. This story follows them through adulthood and shows all the ways their lives change but their love remains the same.

The story is told in altering chapters from Andy and Jace’s perspective. There is a female and male narrator, and they both did a nice job, but I didn’t feel like the male narrator’s voice fit Jace’s character at all. That’s just me nitpicking but it bothered me lol.

The book started very slow, but it picks up about a third of the way through. I was rooting for Andy and Jace and found their relationship so wholesome. The continuous conflicts and obstacles they endure got old quickly, though. The book is well written and overall the plot is interesting, but it’s so long and drawn out. It got to a point that I didn’t really care what happened to their relationship because I just wanted the story to be done. Their story is beautiful and the ending is satisfying, but this easily could have been 200 pages shorter. I’d rate this more like 3.5 stars. Thanks to NetGalley, W. W. Crown, and Sarah Ready for this free ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you W. W. Crown, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Members' Audiobooks for allowing me to review The Space Between on NetGalley.

Narrators: James Fouhey & Rachel F. Hirsch: Both did a good job bumping the audible experience up a notch. Would be pleased to see Fouhey as narrator again. While a positive experience with Hirsch, I'm pretty sure I won't recognize her voice next time.

Stars: 3.5

Out of my standard wheelhouse, this contemporary romance was okay. With over 500 pages and 13 hours of audio the story, as written, was too long. A wealthy girl (Young Ivanka) falls in love with a poor, parentless boy just aging out of foster care. This is a love at first sight story that spans 30-40 years. My biggest problems were the significant time leaps the author used to move the story along. She used this technique to escape connecting dots.

I did appreciate that the author stayed true to the love story portion. (No spoilers.) I was not unhappy with how I spent my time at the end. Ready did justice to romantics leaving Jace and Andrea exactly where they were meant to be.

The Space Between is a Lifetime movie (and needed that 2 hour edit).

I would recommend this as a travel book. If you lose your place missing a few pages changes nothing.

Wow! What a story! Andrea is a pawn in her rich father's empire. To escape, she people watches in Central Park, where she encounters a busker named Jace whose songs make her heart soar.

They come from completely different worlds, yet there's an immediate soul connection between the two of them that neither can deny. But circumstances (and people) keep conspiring to push them apart.

This story includes many of the elements I enjoy in a sweet romance:
- Love at first sight
- Found family
- Challenges to overcome
- A willingness to fight for what you want

I recently heard that you need the right time, the right place, and the right circumstances for a romance to work out. Miss any of those elements, and it's not going to work.

That's exactly what happened with Andrea and Jace. It took a lot of time and living before they were able to get all three right, but what a story they had to share! One of my favorite books this year.

Thank you to Sarah Ready, W. W. Crown, and NetGalley for an advance review copy. I'm truly grateful!

This is a review of the audiobook.

Sarah Ready's The Space Between is a captivating love story with a series of intense plot twists. She has written an amazing story with incredible character development with the two main characters, Jace Morgan and Andi. Intense, relatable, and unputdownable read. Just when you think you know them you learn something new and the storyline was just so good! Sarah Ready has published a work of art and I will be recommending this book to my book community!

This was a love story about Jace and Andy. They met at Central Park through fate or accident at the age of 17. Their love was immediate and deep. However, young love doesn’t always work out the way you planned.

Initially, I found this “first true love” plot to be out of my interest zone. YA is not my thing. However, as the characters aged into their 20’s, it became a little more relatable. I grew to love Andrea’s character. She faced difficult decisions yet always kept her integrity.

My star rating is based more on the second half of this book. It became increasingly emotional towards the end. Definitely recommend to other readers who are looking for a heartfelt coming of age romance.

Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced audiobook in exchange for an honest review. The audio narrators were good fits for the characters with a range of voices that brought me into the story.

"The Space Between" by Sarah Ready is a poignant exploration of love, loss, and the transformative power of second chances. Ready's prose is evocative, creating a world where emotions resonate deeply with the reader. The characters are beautifully drawn, each carrying their own burdens and seeking redemption. The novel's exploration of the delicate moments that define relationships adds a layer of authenticity to the narrative.

What enhances this experience further is the audiobook rendition, where the story comes alive through skillful narration, immersing listeners in the emotional depth of "The Space Between." Ready's adept storytelling, coupled with the audio performance, makes this novel not just a read but an immersive journey into the complexities of human connection. "The Space Between" is a compelling blend of heartache and hope, offering a poignant and memorable experience for those captivated by tales of love's intricate dance.

Thank you to my partner, NetGalley, and the author. I appreciate the gifted eARC and audiobook, and I am leaving this review voluntarily!

1. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑶𝒖𝒕𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔 - It seemed to me that this story was an allusion to The Outsiders. A classic story kind of reimagined and Ready knocked it out of the park!

2. 𝑫𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝑼𝒏𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅 - Always finish what you start. It often seems that if the words were spoken, many things would be resolved without the heartache.

3. 𝑫𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝑨𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝑩𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑺𝒆𝒆 - So many times our eyes see things that aren’t true. Maybe our brains are wired to see the worst possible scenarios. Take the time to take that second glimpse.

4. 𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑰𝒕’𝒔 𝑴𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝑻𝒐 𝑩𝒆 - Jace and Andi are that quintessential couple that will have every reader grasping for their happiness together.

5. 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑾𝒆 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏 - The underlying reason for Andi’s decisions later in the story is so heart-wrenchingly powerful. Sometimes in life we have to make sacrifices for the things that we know hold importance over everything else.

I fell in love with this book. I thought it was going to be like every other teenage forbidden love story, but I was so wrong. The characters had depth. They had heart. In a way that most would do anything for love by alienating the rest of their family and friends, Jace an Andrea were anything but. Instead, they were completely selfless. They put their hearts and souls into those around them and let their love be lost. A thing of the past that was never truly forgotten. Their lives crossed paths a couple of times and I marveled in the fact that their honest and true love never showed jealousy or remorse. Instead, it always brought comfort and support, even if they couldn't be together. I found the purity that The Space Between allowed to be completely heartwarming. It was a beautiful story of first love being allowed to grow and adapt in ways that many these days don't allow because of the need for immediate gratification.

BOOK REVIEW: The Space Between by Sarah Ready ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 💫

Audiobook Narration by James Fouhey and Rachel F Hirsch-- ♥️

Book Moods: passion, love, betrayal, longing, redemption

Andrea and Jace are from opposite universes, but they were made for each other. Then betrayal and the space between then and now changes everything. Sarah comes from wealth and the corporate world. Jace from humble beginnings but then making it as a singer. I ended up really loving this book. Thought it was a good listen, full of feeling.

This was an emotional read.
The story is told by the two main characters and is told over many years.
The characters grew during that time.
Sometimes during the story I really wanted to scream at them but they changed and got to know themselves.

This is my fourth Sarah Ready book I have read and unlike the previous three ones, this book did take me a while to get into. It was only when I reached part 2 of the book that I began liking the story more and also felt the pace picking up. I received both an e-ARC and ALC but mostly listened to the audiobook. So far, all the narrators chosen to narrate Sarah Ready books have not disappointed and this book is no exception.

My thanks to NetGalley, the publisher W.W. Crown/IBPA Members' Audiobooks and the author for the ARC/ALC of the book.

The Space Between is perfectly marketed as, “an epic love story full of emotional depth, redemption, found family, and the belief that love can heal the world.”

Jace and Andrea found the love of their life at an early age, but the timing simply wasn’t right. After almost a decade apart, the two stumble upon one another at the very place they met and fell in love. Everything seems perfect, except Andrea is set to get married the very next day. Desperate to learn the truth, the two spend the night discussing the real story behind what tore their relationship apart. Will one night be enough for Andrea to call off her wedding, or will outside forces keep the pair apart once more?

Written in four parts, with alternating POVs from both Jace and Andrea, this book covers two decades of time. This book is perfectly structured for telling Jace and Andrea’s entire story. Readers get a comprehensive look at both Jace and Andrea’s lives.

I had the pleasure of both listening to this on audiobook and reading it on ebook. I loved getting to do so because each format offers something special to the story. However, if I had to pick one format for consuming this book, I would say audiobook is the way to go. The narration was expertly done. Both James Fouhey and Rachel Hirsch did a phenomenal job bringing Ready’s story to life.

As a fan of Sarah Ready, I have followed her career for many years. The Space Between, illustrates how she somehow outdoes herself with each and every book. She takes the most unlikable of characters and turns them into ones we root for. This book could have ended a million different ways and I would have been just as happy.

Special thanks to Sarah Ready, Netgalley, and WW Crown for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback.

.... Love I'm yours, the roads been long, the years have been hard, but I'll do it again just to see you one more time, the roads been long, but its always been leading home ❤️❤️

No I'm not crying, you are.
The Space Between is one of the most heartbreaking yet the most beautiful epic love story I've ever read.

The love between Andi and Jace began when they were seventeen.
From the moment of their fate-filled first meeting in Central Park they’ve known one true thing—they’re meant to be.

Opposite side Attract.
Andrea Leighton-Hughes is the daughter of one of the richest men in Manhattan.
Jace Morgan is no stranger to hardship-he lost his parents at a young age, and he and his brothers struggle every day to get by. Gambling to hit it big and rise to the top of the music industry.

~First Love
~Friends to Lovers
~Opposite Attract
~Second Chance
~Found Family
~Star Crossed Lovers

What a roller-coaster of emotions. My emotions were all over the place, im not an emotional person but this really got to me.
There's Love, heartbreak, loss, lies, betrayal, friendship, hope etc.
... and from Chace and his brothers, the undying belief that love and music can heal the world.
its absolutely worth the ride.

Written and narrated so beautifully, what's there not to like?
All the characters are lovable.
Each unique in its own way, n of course not without fault.

A romantic story spanning nearly two decades with so many twists and turns you wouldn't see coming.

This is one of those books that stays with you. Its imprinted in my memory.
I will never forget reading it. I'll never forget Chace & Andi.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you NetGalley & W. W. Crown for this Audiobook.

Sarah Ready has quickly become an auto-read for me. The Space Between was not what I expected in a good way. We follow the couple through the ups and downs of life doing everything possible to separate them. This is a beautiful emotional story. It broke my heart and put it back together again. The main characters are such strong individuals and so sure of love as teenagers, yet so innocent when it comes to romance as well. To watch them through the story, fall in love, grow up, change, hurt and keep coming to each other by choice or accident is a beautiful story. Get some tissues and a comfy spot, you will cry sad and happy tears with this one.

I went into this book expecting a cheesy, love-filled romance that would be sweet, quick, and then done. What I didn't expect was to grow so invested. I had to know what happened next and why. I couldn't stop rooting for the two main characters. If you are looking for your next romance read, this book should be a top contender.

Andi & Jace's love story is beautifully told over many years, despite them coming from totally different backgrounds. Lots of twists & turns, betrayals, hurt but also lots of love.

I don't want to give too much away but the ending is very much worth waiting for.

I've never read anything by this author before but I'll definitely be looking for other books now.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read such an amazing book.

This book took me a while to get into, but once I did it was an enjoyable read. I liked the characters, and if you're a fan of second chance romance you will probably enjoy this.

I still adore this book but didn't enjoy it as much as an audiobook. Both narrators were great hence still the high rating.

The Space Between has been one of my favorite ARC's that I've ever gotten. I'm a sucker for a good love story, especially one that really takes its time. The back and forth of the story being told by both characters really helped to keep me interested. There was so much that went on in this book - I found myself yelling outloud at the characters while listening. I really loved that this story was told over many years and we got to see the main characters grow, progress, and learn about themselves. 10/10 recommend this read to any reader.

I love Sarah Ready so I was super thrilled for this book! For some reason I put it off and I terribly regret doing so! This was such a phenomenal, emotional story. Seriously, I was not prepared for the level of emotional damage even though all the reviews talked about it. Once I settled into the story, I couldn’t put it down. I loved that while, yes it’s a romance, it’s more about different types of love, family, the power of music and redemption. I can’t even really put into words my feelings, but just do yourself a favor and read it asap if you haven’t.
